1.Co Be Salon

Address: 2259 Polk St, San Francisco, CA 94109

(67) Reviews Co Be Salon:

Annie CBR Mary is the best on the block! She took care of me the whole nine yards, from quality of service to customer service. Her hand and foot massages are super strong, gets right into those knots. She is a woman who values her work to the core. She made sure every nail was perfect before setting in under the light. Its almost as if shes painting a perfect picture with your toes! Cant forget to mention, she gave homemade delicious cookies and provided sparkling water to quench the thirst while I was pampered. Shes super friendly along with her whole team, all positive vibes with soothing background music. 10/10 would come back to her again!

Victoria Russo Staff were nice and friendly! I got a basic mani pedi with regular polish. I have had worse but also had better. My manicure felt rushed and was done at the same time as my pedicure on a pillow / with my hands held while sitting in the chair. It was a little uncomfortable. Didn’t feel like my cuticles were taken care of as well as places usually do, which is the main reason I go to a salon. My nails have already chipped / smudged less than 24 hours later and the edges are messy as if I did them myself. I’m sure if I got gel or acrylic sitting down at the table it would have been better and more comfortable. Good atmosphere and interior + nice staff otherwise! I liked that they had Essie gel regular polish because some salons here don’t and I don’t like actual gel/dip/acrylic bc it ruins my nails, but I probably won’t be going back

Meghan Hilbert I went here for my first time and loved the experience. They have a great color selection to choose from and they take their time. Mary, the owner, even gave me a bubbly water and homemade cookie while she did my nails. It had a great time and I will 100% be going back

2.Mina Spa

Address: 2920 Diamond St, San Francisco, CA 94131

(101) Reviews Mina Spa:

Maja Vestin My appointment appeared to have been overlooked, despite receiving confirmation emails and texts. It felt like the service was rushed, as though someone jumped in to quickly finish it. My cuticle was accidentally cut, causing it to bleed, and the polish was applied thinly, leaving it see-through. The last time I visited, I was made to wait about 30 minutes because no one was available, even though I had a scheduled appointment. It’s unclear why to make online appointments and receive confirmations if no one is ready when you come.

Daniela Norwood I’ve been going to Mina spa for a few years now and always leave satisfied and impressed by their services! I’ve done a range of services including builder gel, gel extensions and pedicures and all last long. Truly all techs I’ve worked with have done a great job, would highly recommend!

Maja Ćoso Love this place! I’ve come here once before, and both times my nails came out perfect. Today Johnny did my manicure and he is incredible! So precise, patient, gentle and communicates to make sure he understands what I want. Highly recommend!

3.SF Nail Bar

Address: 2275 Market St Unit B, San Francisco, CA 94114

(69) Reviews SF Nail Bar:

Kimberly Go I had a really unfortunate gel x experience at a different nail salon and came to Sf nail bar to get them fixed. I showed Jenny couple photos of what I wanted and Jenny fixed my nails so fast and made sure I liked the shape and the color after each coat. I’m so happy with my nails and the price was so reasonable! Will definitely be a returning customer.

Mason Lewcun Soo no one informed me that the deluxe manacure didnt include gel was charged extra for that. The lady cut my cuticle and the ombrre is very uneaven and not very clean left my cuticles dirty and stained as well. 48 dollar seluxe manacure turned into 87 dollars for a sub par job. They should have mentioned the charges prior to the service. They are also already chipping after 24 hours.

4.Lux Nails and Spa

Address: 350 W Portal Ave, San Francisco, CA 94127

(55) Reviews Lux Nails and Spa:

Caroline Corner Great nails, great price, great service. Always accommodating of my changing color requests. My pedicurist is amazing but it is hard enough to book her that I’m not sharing her name! (All of them are good though!)

Tess Murphy Whatever you do, don’t get a gift certificate at Lux nails. I got a gel mani pedi gift certificate for my friend who goes there all the time. The woman filling out the form seemed to be confused, because it took 20 minutes for me to leave with the certificate. Fast forward 5 months my friend tries to use the certificate. The owner Be says the certificate isn’t valid because it wasn’t filled in properly, or something like that. My friend told me, so visit the shop because I assume it was just a misunderstanding. No. I explained to Be that her employee filled it out incorrectly, and showed her the certificate and envelope with her logo on it. She said she is the only one who can do certificates, she doesn’t remember this one, and then had the nerve to suggest I had forged the certificate. I showed her my bank account from the day, showing the exact amount of the certificate was charged to my account. She said I probably got my nails done that day. So I wasted $93 and got nothing, no apology, and certainly no refund or new certificate. I am a hard person to really upset and I only like writing reviews to support local businesses, but this was too much.

5.The Avenues Spa

Address: 3929 California St, San Francisco, CA 94118

(133) Reviews The Avenues Spa:

Rand Mudafr I am absolutely heartbroken and infuriated by the treatment I received at this nail salon. I went in for builder gel on my nails on Monday, something I was really looking forward to, only for them to start peeling and falling off not even 24 hours later. They were closed Tuesday so I went in on Wednesday (today). When I went back to the salon to show them what happened (pictures attached), I was met with nothing but hostility and blame. The nail technician who did my nails yelled at me in front of other clients, insisting it was somehow my fault that the builder gel didn’t even last a day. I felt humiliated and belittled. My natural nails are usually strong and healthy, but after this experience, they’ve been left brittle, uneven, and absolutely ruined, which you can see from the pictures attached. One of my nails even broke while the gel was still on, which is exactly what builder gel is supposed to prevent! I asked for the remaining gel to be taken off and a refund. Instead of understanding or compassion, I got more yelling and a half-hearted filing job that didn’t even remove all of the gel. My nails look atrocious now, and I am devastated by how weak and ugly they’ve become. The other nail techs could see the mess that was made and kindly offered to redo my nails, but I don’t see how I could trust a place that allows that kind of treatment. This experience has left me upset, humiliated, and out of money. A simple refund and understanding could have avoided this whole situation. I trusted this place to take care of my nails, and instead, they left them in worse condition than ever before. Save yourself the heartbreak and go somewhere that values their clients and stands by the quality of their work.

Natalie Snyder I’ve been coming to The Avenue Spa for years now and absolutely love it. In the past I had a hard time finding a consistent place I loved, but TAS has definitely become my go to spot. Kimberly is my go to nail tech for all my acrylic nail designs. She brings every creation to life. Highly recommend!

Nadia Chkinef I cannot say enough positive things about this salon. I made an appointment after breaking my arm last year and everyone has been so kind and accommodating to me with my brace and bandages. I will continue to come back for their kindness, cleanliness, laughter, and talent!! Thank you Wing, Annie, Jessica, and all other ladies who work here. Im bringing all of my friends!!

Lori T My Fiancé and I came in for mani/pedis before our wedding trip to Italy. It was our first time at Sophia’s Beauty Lounge and we will be back. The manicure and pedicure that I had done were top notch. Wing suggested gel tips because my nails had been ruined from a previous dipped manicure. She did such an amazing job suggesting two colors and making sure they were strong enough to withstand the 5 days before our ceremony. Hoa’s gel pedicure also looks great. So happy we chose Sophia’s!!

Shania Santana I absolutely love this place. They’re incredibly kind & attentive to my needs. I’ve always had such a positive experience getting gel manicures and pedicures. Everything is always so clean and comfortable. ALSO I love love love getting my eyebrows waxed here. I always leave looking STUNNING ~ literally my eyebrows come out perfect every time. Sophia is a talented queen and I can always count on her. Beyond being incredibly sweet (I love her so much), she’s a perfectionist, so she’ll always make sure every single hair is taken care of.

7.Soubella Nails Spa

Address: 2824 California St, San Francisco, CA 94115

(40) Reviews Soubella Nails Spa:

Veronica Sandoval This is my go-to nail salon in the area. I usually get dip, gel, or regular — all are great and reasonable priced for the area. The ladies are hard working / detailed oriented, make sure you’re comfortable with small snacks/water, and do a good job. I typically call before I come in to ensure I don’t have to wait but have seen other folks just walk in without waiting depending on how busy they are. They take card, but prefer cash for everything. Also cash tip if you do need to pay with card for any reason. Great place, highly recommend!

April Rozier Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I went in for a fill, I wanted my real nails dipped and the ones growing out just filled. The nail tech filed down my real nails too short, resulting in having to get new acrylics. The new ones are thick and lumpy. I asked for them to be fixed, but they just kept getting worse. I had to ask to wash my hands, she was just going to put cuticle oil on dusty, dirty hands. Now I have to get them polished somewhere else. Just be careful of what you ask for.

Patricia Pan Fantastic massage — $12 for 10 minutes. I did a simultaneous foot and shoulder massage for around $30. They take Apple Pay but I prefer to support with cash and they offer a cash discount

8.Portola Nail Spa

Address: 619 Portola Dr, San Francisco, CA 94127

(60) Reviews Portola Nail Spa:

Perry Wong Costa I went in on a whim to get a gel removal and gel manicure and, while they took walk-ins, my hands were sitting in acetone for over 30 minutes, and I got two separate cuts from the manicurist accidentally clipping my skin with the nail drill. My nails were poorly shaped, crooked, and even with me asking her to fix it multiple times, they were still crooked and uneven when I left. I had to go home and fix the shape myself. The gel polish lasted for less than a week before the ends started lifting. I won’t be coming back here.

Lore Labhih I got a manicure and a pedicure. I loved the work of the lady who made my feet, but my hands a complete disaster. At the beginning I asked if they could make the design that is in the photo and they said to me yes. Everything was going well until the moment of design ... it was not the color that I wanted and although I told her repeatedly that I do not like the color she insisted on putting the color that she wanted ... the lines of the decoration are not defined , I think my 3-year-old son makes more defined lines .... additionally there was no cuticle cut and under the nails it was horrible, you can see white nail polish that was not erased. The $45 of the feet seemed fair to me because it is include Nail and Cuticle trim, Remove Deep Callus and Hot Stone Massage, but the manicure cost me $90, it seems too much for the very bad result. If you want a specific design ... this is not the place.

leighann Maree It was decent but the girls kept bouncing back and forth between clients and sharing clients instead sticking to one. It would’ve been nice to get price break down as I got delux pedicure which said 55 and regular manicure which said 20 but charged me 90 which I thought included wax since I also asked for wax but was told to come back, but it didn’t. Not sure if they charge more for the delux pedicure if you add gel instead of regular polish but that should be listed. Other then price break down should be little more detail and clearer, and working on multiple women instead women A taking client A, women B taking client B without the back and forth, the women were nice and happy with the work they did, especially the pedicure They must be doing something right if they’re busy( I can’t speak for their nail work as I don’t get fake nails or fancy stuff done lol) ^_^.

Megan Hazeleur As always staff was super nice and their salon is nice inside. I went with a lady I haven’t worked with before and It took a bit longer as I think she is still perfecting her long acrylic skills- but she took her time perfecting the style and did a great job. I wasn’t in a hurry so it was no issue. Thanks!

Anna Fields Super nice staff, really clean and beautiful store. Got matching pedicures with my sister and we were well taken care of and had a great time! We also got our eyebrows done and they did an amazing job. We will be back soon because of the amazing service and prices!

Viviana Osorio Went in for coffin nails and came out with square nails. From the get go I should’ve seen the RED FLAGS! The place was alone with only one person (the manicurist) there, when she started on my nails she hurt me a couple of times burning me with the drill. When she was applying the acrylic it was so runny and lumpy , after the application it started burning my actual nails, maybe the type of acrylic they use. I wouldn’t recommend this place , I used to come here a long time ago with (Misa, the owner) amazing manicurist and the nails were always beautiful but this time I was super disappointed with the shape & nails itself. I think she knew the kind of job she did cause she only charged me $55 so she knew the terrible job that was done on me. I was also looking for a cosmetology licensing and none were available or visible for the public , makes me wonder if she was even license to do this work.

Marie-Eve Ward Finally a place that does beautiful nails! I’ve been looking for a while and tried different places and just couldn’t find somewhere I liked or that left me happy with the results. This place is clean, quiet, friendly and my nail tech did great work. I like my nails looking classic and natural and she did exactly that! The only thing is my mani was dry. Like no soaking of my nails and cuticles before cutting them but other than that it was a typical mani/pedi process. I’ll definitely be back! Edit: I had to come take off a star due to the no soaking of nails/cuticles like I had mentioned. It made my cuticles red and inflamed and they peeled a lot. It was awful. A friend of mine also went here to get her nails done and asked to have her nails soaked and they blamed covid for not being able to do it. Doesn’t make much sense if you sterilize everything as you should.

Maryanne Quinn First time here and I was so happy with my mani pedi! The 2 techs that worked on me were really sweet and did a fantastic job shaping my already super short nails. The salon is cutesy and small, love all the pink decor, and finding street parking was real easy on a Saturday afternoon. The smaller space gives a more intimate feel, like youre a VIP client. I found it relaxing and quiet. With 2 techs working on me at the same time I was done in a hour, which was fantastic! But the service did not feel rushed at all and the techs were still so meticulous, making my nails look perfect! I will be coming back!

Sabrina Luppi I went in to crystal nail spa hoping they could fix a manicure I had gotten elsewhere that I really didn’t like. Trang knew exactly how to fix them without damaging my nails or having to lose the length. I got so many compliments on that manicure! I’ve been coming back ever since, and this week a friend came in with me and we spent a while designing her manicure with the massive selection of charms they had. They were so patient and helpful while we picked out colors and charms and we both love our manicures!! I look forward to going back :)

Angelica SF This place deserves all the 5 stars! I got my gel manicure here on 5/22 for my wedding. It’s 6/21 now and my nails still look amazing! No chip, no anything. I needed to file my nails as they are getting longer but none of the nails broke. Elly did well with my nail design too. I wanted some cat stuff because our cats won’t be in the wedding so something with them felt good. Will definitely come back.

Gulsah Karabulut I have never had a worse manicure experience in my life. The technician worked on my nails so quickly, didnt answer my questions, didnt cut my cuticles, didnt properly file the nails she applied, making it extremely difficult for me to use them. Even though I told her, she didnt cut my cuticles, so now I have to go somewhere else to have them removed and redone. Because my nails just dont look like theyre done professionally. I will never come back and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I’ve also done my lashes with them and the owner advised me on a shape that fits my eye perfectly.

Morgan Brown I’m editing my review to note that the gel has lasted a very long time. Not your typical pedicure or salon. I received a gel French pedicure today, and was a little disappointed. They don’t soak your feet for more than 2 minutes, and although the chair was comfortable your feet are just resting on a small table, legs straight, knees locked. They also don’t provide a food scrub or massage. I came to the conclusion that they specialize in nail art and gel not the typical pedicure I’m accustom to. The nails they do look beautiful but this isn’t a place to go for a basic pedicure.

Meghan Dysart Wonderful nail salon. Great service, very knowledgeable about different techniques. Did fantastic nail art on my daughter’s nail for the holidays. It was just what she wanted and she’s never been happier with her nails!

Meghan Brown Its difficult for me to give an accurate review that one would assume summarizes my experience with the nail technician, her skills, and my evaluation. Unfortunately, like many other recent experiences Ive been going through, it seems as if theres an anonymous 3rd party contributing their basis and effecting my opinion. I tried going in without prior knowledge of the salon, but I could tell the technician had likely been doing her job for years and for the most part had an excellent set of skills. I think the salon was polished and provided a calming environment that was in alignment with nature.

Tricia Peck This was such a terrible awful experience! I have a 1 year old so getting to go out get a mani pedi is an ultra luxury. The women looked beyond disappointed I was there & no one smiled. Like I was a burden being there. The pedicure itself was ok and in the end looked good even with the bad attitudes and bad energy. The seats are weird and the water being carried made me feel like I was a major burden. My babysitter said they could stay longer so I asked for a manicure and a lip wax. The wax was so hot burned my lips. It’s been 6 days and my skin is still red bumpy and looks horrible. I’d normally not get a lip wax but was in a linch and could never imagine such terrible careless service! She didn’t get all the hair burned all around my mouth and now I have had terrible breakouts from the burn at a family wedding. My nails look awful and I paid over $150. I will never ever go back here and highly suggest no one else does either. One star should be negative stats. Careless over priced meaningless service awful. So sad no one in the bay area puts care and love into their work because it’s just all about money.
