Context: I’ve been getting my hair done in NYC for a decade and since moving here have the hardest time finding anyone in San Diego who can properly cut and blend layers with textured, curly hair. Lucy is relatively new - just promoted from trainee to level 1! - but she clearly has a gift. My cuts have been perfect and exactly what I’ve asked her to do. Angelina Madruga This is my second appointment at the salon but first appointment with Alyssa. She was a trainee and was so great! She takes her time and is very meticulous and kind. I love my hair and she did great. She took into account my curls very well and knew what length to cut the hair looking at the level or shrinkage my hair has. Carpe Diem Haircuts are on point. Friendly hairstylist. Very difficult to reschedule and cancel appointment. Never received any reply back until the morning of the appointment. I tried multiple times 2 weeks prior to the appointment to reschedule through the app and kept putting me on waitlist. I called, no answer so I left a voicemail more than 24 hours before the appointment. I sent a text the night before the appointment. And received a text back the morning of the appointment letting me know that I will be charged late cancellation fee. And now I saw $80 charge on my credit card. The difficulty of canceling and rescheduling through the app and via phone cost me $80. I guess I’ll look for new hair salon that is more responsive when you’re trying to cancel and reschedule and not end up blind sighting me with $80 late cancellation fee. I was not late in canceling/rescheduling. They were just not responding to my request.

Reno Sammons The best hair salon I have been too. After doing hours of research to find a hair salon that fit my needs ( ASD/ anxiety/etc) I stumbled upon Sweet Jane Salon. There are only two stylist there: Norman and Nicholas. Nick cut and styled my hair beautifully. He is a true artist and he loves what he does and it shows in his work. Honestly my hair has never looked better. I didn’t really know what I wanted my hair to look like so I told him the things I wished my hair had more of ( volume, shape, long enough to put into a ponytail). The results speak for themselves. In conclusion, if you have an opportunity to get your hair cut here, don’t hesitate… book the appointment.

Mariane Eirene I’ve been seeing Nick since 2020 and I have never looked back. Every time we have an appointment I come out feeling like my best self. Since being his client I’ve had my hair cut in different types of shags and I bounce between curtain and baby bangs. In my last visit he took my naturally dark brown hair to the perfect copper/red. My husband has also started going to Norm and he always leaves with the best soft mullet. I highly highly recommend Nick and Norm, especially if you’re looking for a razor cut. They are truly the best at what they do.

Rebekah Childers I’ve been going to Bj for 3 years now and won’t ever go anywhere else. I have very thick, course, curly/wavy hair and A LOT OF IT. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding stylists over the years who can cut my hair without turning me into a triangle head (flat on top with too much hair and friz at the bottom layers). He does a remarkable job every time, perfect length layers and no thinning tools required! He’s a wonderful person too, the conversation is genuine and he adores my daughter. It’s a great experience with great prices. I highly highly recommend!

Job after I fried my hair with bleach sessions during Covid to get it pink. I had to have natural hair color going back to work and with minimal chemicals he was able to cover up the mess I made with my hair. He was patient, extremely kind, definitely coming back for years to come!

Rebekah Garcia Absolutely amazing. I barely told BJ what I wanted, basically just a trim and add a few layers, and he knew exactly how to handle my hair. He noticed immediately that I had too long of layers on top so my hair was weighed down leaving me when that triangle effect (straight and flat on top of my head then boom volume and curls surrounding my shoulders.) He shortened my top layers and just trimmed my split ends off the bottom layers. My hair looks incredible!! I now have a balanced look with volume and curls all over instead of just surrounding my shoulders. BJ was extremely precise, he took his time and made sure not a hair on my head was out of place. He also was very kind and genuine, we talked about kids and life the whole time. I will always go to BJ as long as Im in San Diego, I highly highly recommend him!! Great experience, great staff, great prices, great haircut!

mary shloss There is a reason Elle earns a 5.0 with her clients; she takes the time and care necessary to ensure she does everything impeccably. When I sat down for my coloring and cut, I never expected the class of service I got. She talked to me first about EVERY THING to make sure I understood what I wanted and what my current situation was with my hair. Because of several shoddy dye jobs by other places in the past and one of my own endeavors to dye my hair, I had so much damage, but it had never been brought up by other hair stylists, just colored over. Elle did such an amazing color correction to my hair, then she painstakingly took the time to make sure the new color was applied evenly. After that, she cut my hair better than I could have asked for, and also styled my hair to show me how it would look both straight and styled. I am OBSESSED with my hair now. In total she took 8 hours to do the job no one else had done before, all without breaks or even dinner for herself. That’s why she gets a 5.0; she is not just a stylist, she is an artist, and I highly recommend her to anyone needing some TLC for their hair!

Cassandra Goldacker I have been going to Knstruct for almost 10 years! Heather and Sarah are the only ladies I trust with my hair! They are experts on color/highlights/balayage. They are amazing with extensions, updos, and haircuts. You truly get treated like VIP and will quickly become part of the knstruct family. They offer beer on tap and even have a cute coffee shop next door. They also have the cutest salon pups hanging around to keep you company! Wendy Grant I love this salon!!! Heather and Sarah are both very talented hairstylists and color specialists. I have fine but curly hair with a lot of gray, but you’d never know it because Heather keeps me vibrantly red and sleekly styled. We switch up the color from time to time and Heather always figures out what will look best, no matter how wild or demure I want to go. And my hair stays in great condition too! Sarah has given me Brazilian blowouts that tame my frizz for months. Both Heather and Sarah are friendly and knowledgeable. The salon is super cute. Sometimes adorable dogs are there, too. There’s a coffee shop next door. And if you don’t take advantage of wine or beer during your appointment (or even if you do) you can walk across the street to Cowboy Star for fabulous cocktails. The shop itself is gorgeous, and everyone was welcoming and friendly. It’s also worth noting that the rate was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the experience. Sharron Grzybowski I recently moved to downtown SD and spent MONTHS researching and reviewing hair people (including asking everyone I ran into). Its almost funny how much time I spent researching it, because I didnt research a new eye doctor this hard!! Brianna (Bri) was fantastic from the start - we texted a number of times before my appointment. Part of it was for my comfort level, but also I wanted to make sure that she was prepared for what she was getting into. :) Id been blue for 8-9 years and was ready to make the change to purple, but wasnt quite comfortable enough to have her use bleach or a color stripper just yet. She was kind and helpful and I was pleased she also uses the same product that my old gal used! My visit was excellent. The salon is clean and very pretty, and well lit. The hair is all mine (also part of my concern when initially contacting her because the website almost made me think she only does extensions), its long and fine. Adding insult to injury, I was getting over a cold when I went to visit her. She handled me and my hair like a champ. She was friendly and talkative when I felt like it (which I really didnt, as talking made me cough). She asked questions about what hairbrush I used, questions about what my old gal did, and was great about listening and asking follow up questions. I havent had a chance to wash it for the first time, yet, but its a product that Im familiar with so Im not worried about caring for it. I will return, and next time Ill be comfortable enough to ask her to bleach my roots. I highly suggest Bri and the Green+Anchor Salon!

Shannon Kelly I’ve been going to Green and Anchor for quite some time now. Emily is awesome! I have really thin hair due to hair loss and she always manages to make me feel so much better. She is super good at color and extensions which is what I get. Whenever I leave the salon, I feel like 1 million bucks! Highly recommend! Everyone there is super talented.

Richele Walters All the ladies that work here are friendly and each has their own special talent. I love the large open space and the hard kombucha was a fun treat while getting my service. I have curly hair so it’s been hard to find someone who knows how to cut it right without leaving an awkward ‘shelf’ in my hair for months after. Monica Shirman Excellent and professionally run salon !! I love the Balboa Park adjacent Banker’s Hill location of Green and Anchor yet this is just for my personal preference. It’s close to my house and I like the area. I continue come here because the salon is always impeccably run. It’s superlatively luxurious and the products used are curated for both sustainability and quality. The owner Bri, cares about her clients and operates with absolute trustworthiness and integrity. You will always leave her salon feeling glamorous and well cared for. It’s always my favorite day when I have an appointment here !!

Glo Netzer My sister had a very good color and cut experience with Mae in December 24. This week (2/25) she needed a cut and color change. Omnia made it possible for her, being in a wheelchair, to make her appointment. Gorgeous color and a terrific trim were the result. Highly recommend the Omnia Salon and Mae and Ali. They go above and beyond!!!

Alondra Otero Amazing service! I highly recommend, not only did I get taken in an hour earlier which was sooo convenient but the service was amazing. I quickly got asked for refreshments and got started right away. I had may as my hairstylist and she was amazing! she did exactly what I wanted and even gave me good advice on how to cut, style, and treat my hair. She’s super sweet and definitely very experienced with cutting hair. She styled my hair beautifully In a way I would have never thought and I LOVED it! 10/10 recommend coming here for your next hair cut for a relatively cheap and great haircut.

Carly Kreitzberg If you have curly hair, look elsewhere. I am thankful that Kayla was able to squeeze me in last minute, but she used a technique on my curls that destroyed my hair. Backstory: I tried trimming my own ends but then decided it was best to have a professional do it. I looked at a few salons in the neighborhood and I chose Omnia because of the positive Google reviews. I arrived asking for a trim, but since I have curly hair and was recovering from another bad haircut, I expressed concerns over how heavy certain sections were. She asked if she wanted me to “thin it out” so I trusted her and said sure. She went in and used a technique where she twisted portions of my hair and snipped it down the twist (I’m assuming to lighten the denser parts?). I told her I wear my hair both curly and blown out/straight, so as I saw her cutting like this I asked how it would look straight and she said it would be fine. When I straightened my hair this weekend, I was horrified. All the short pieces she cut into stick out like wires. I have random strands of hair that are anywhere from 2-6 inches just popping out when I straighten it. This will take years to grow out. I really cannot wear my hair straight until it does so. Extremely disappointing. I do not recommend Kayla for a haircut if you have curly hair.

I love the way she colors, cuts, and styles my hair. And the wash house experience is off the charts. I highly recommend without any hesitation!

They always asked questions to make sure I was happy and always considered my opinion. I completely trusted her with my hair and they did not disappoint. My hair feels so beautiful and healthy thanks to Bug. I would also like to point out how beautiful, clean and organized this salon was. They even have you changed into a robe and create a whole experience for you. The location is ideal as well! I would definitely recommend her and this salon to friends and family. I will definitely be going back!

Christina Romero I’ve been coming to this salon for years, even before COVID, and I highly recommend Jamie. He’s amazing at face-framing cuts and hair coloring, and you can tell he really knows what he’s doing. He always does a fantastic job!

I have been coming to this beautiful Robert Cromeans salon for years now and it’s my absolute favorite. The salon is as amazing as the vibes and level of care you receive. All of the hair dressers are awesome, especially Mary! I’ve never felt so taken care of and finally have the hair color I’ve always dreamed of. I’m so grateful for finding Mary and this gem of a place!!! Cannot recommend enough!
