03-2025 Hair Daze in The Best 19 Hair Salon in San Diego, San Diego Country Shearology Hair Salon San Diego - San Diego Monica Gomez-Dunham: Im on a tight budget so the price of a haircut motivated me to try Shearology. I messed up my hair by trying to cut it myself so I had to find a place who could correct my mistake. Jeanette was fabulous! Not only did she give me a perfect Bob she was also knowledgeable about great places to eat and things to do in SD. I will see her again in the future.
Knstruct Salon - San Diego Cassandra Goldacker: I have been going to Knstruct for almost 10 years! Heather and Sarah are the only ladies I trust with my hair! They are experts on color/highlights/balayage. They are amazing with extensions, updos, and haircuts. You truly get treated like VIP and will quickly become part of the knstruct family. They offer beer on tap and even have a cute coffee shop next door. They also have the cutest salon pups hanging around to keep you company! They only use top of the line products, leaving your hair healthy and shiny every time. I love these ladies and cannot recommend this salon enough!
Belli Belli Salon & Boutique - San Diego Sabrina Simeroth: Erin was amazing! I booked a last minute appointment and had no idea what I wanted other than to lighten my hair subtly and get a trim. I have very thick, long hair that is textured and has a lot of wave. Erin was so patient with me, gave me some incredible advice, listened to what I didn’t want and helped me find exactly what I wanted, then she masterfully transformed my hair. She did an amazing job and Ava was such a huge help. I will be coming back! This is the dream team!
Rinse Salon - San Diego Dalia San Miguel: I’ve waited a whole month before writing this review. Do NOT allow them to cut your hair. I went in for a long layered cut with a thin out. The stylist ended up leaving my hair uneven and took more hair on one side versus the other. The cut looks okay when they style it but as soon as you go home and wash it you will see the flawed cut just as I did. I reached out and was very clear that I did not want to cut my hair any further but would prefer a refund simply for the cut. I wasn’t even asking for my money back for the style. Management said they would get back to me and they ignored all my attempts to get a response and till this day, the company has not made an effort to reach out and make things right. So disappointed. You would think that they would at least have the decency to respond.
MODA Hair Design - San Diego Rebekah Childers: I’ve been going to Bj for 3 years now and won’t ever go anywhere else. I have very thick, course, curly/wavy hair and A LOT OF IT. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding stylists over the years who can cut my hair without turning me into a triangle head (flat on top with too much hair and friz at the bottom layers). He does a remarkable job every time, perfect length layers and no thinning tools required! He’s a wonderful person too, the conversation is genuine and he adores my daughter. It’s a great experience with great prices. I highly highly recommend!
theFactory Hair - San Diego Anyla Kirkland: They do not know how to do curly hair and I had to show her how to do it the correct way. Do not go to them if you have tight curls because the woman that supposedly “knows how to do curly hair” did not do it the correct way! She then proceeds to tell me she feels uncomfortable but how do you think I would feel since you literally just played in my hair instead of actually styling it. I had to leave the salon with my hair just soaking wet.
Salon Aurora - San Diego Megan Giles: There is so much I can say about how wonderful this salon is. The salon itself is absolutely gorgeous—modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, creating such a relaxing atmosphere. I also appreciate the thoughtful touches, like the variety of snacks and drinks available, making me feel extra pampered. Amber is so thoughtful of ALL clients that come to her salon (not just her own) she even makes sure to provide gluten-free snacks as well, so celiacs like me aren’t left out! All of the stylists here have been so warm and welcoming, it really feels like you’re just hanging out with your girls.
When I started going to Amber for my hair, I needed some serious help. My hair was blotchy and extremely damaged. I had been asking my previous stylist for something she was still unable to achieve after 7 years of consistency. After 1 appointment with Amber I finally had the hair of my dreams! She spent hours hand painting each strand to create a smooth even lift and correct the damage done by my previous stylist. She is so talented and genuinely cares for the health of your hair. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great service in a beautiful, comfortable environment with stylists who genuinely enjoy helping you achieve the hair of your dreams!!
Style Lounge Salon - San Diego Fernanda R: Izzy did an amazing job on my hair! She got the perfect amount of lightness without causing any damage. Shes truly the best when it comes to working with brunettes. Her cuts are also incredible, leaving my hair looking fresh and stylish. I highly recommend Izzy for anyone looking for a talented and professional hairstylist. Ill definitely be coming back!
Curlcraft Salon - San Diego Lexie Volquez: If you’ve been thinking about booking an appointment, stop thinking and just book it! Originally, I had only booked a hair painting appointment with Allie because I had planned to get a cut at a different salon. However, to keep things consistent and because I wanted to try it out, I decided to book the next available appointment for the cut, before the color. While Allie didn’t have time slots available to do both services the same day, I was able to snag an appointment the week earlier with Olive for the cut. All I can say is WOW!
Olive is so down to earth, she took the time to listen to what I wanted and she delivered! Never have I had such an amazing haircut (and I’ve had curly dry cuts before). I asked for layers and I got LAYERZZZ! I admire the close attention to detail and how intentional every snip is.
Allie is also amazing! So sweet, welcoming, and passionate about curls. I couldn’t feel more comfortable as a new client. It was so easy working together to bring the look I wanted to life and I appreciate how she took the time to answer all my coloring questions. I also love that she took all the steps necessary to make sure I was shielded from any product accidentally landing where it shouldn’t. After gently applying products and drying my hair I was amazed to see the final results turned out exactly how I would style at home which tells me she really understood what my curls wanted. It also helps that the color is gorgeous!
I feel bad that I can’t stick to one stylist but I’ve been spoiled by both of these amazing women and I won’t look back! Just goes to show how talented the amazing team at curlcraft is. Can’t wait for my next visit!
Theory Hair Studio - San Diego Kylie Hastings: Uyen was amazing!!! I am obsessed with my hair! She worked so hard on my hair and took her time with the layers. I was nervous to go lighter and Uyen made me feel so much better about it and copied my reference photo beautifully. She did my money pieces perfectly, something I’ve never done before and will be coming back to get done again! Uygen made the hair coloring fly by with her amazing hospitality and conversation. I will definitely be coming back! You’re missing out if you don’t come get your highlights by Uygen.
