Kate Wilson If I could give ZERO stars I would. My 3 year old daughter came in wheezing & 103 temp. The doctor not only diagnosed her incorrectly with Croup Cough, but after looking at her X-ray and told me she didn’t have pneumonia. They release my daughter with a 100. 3 FEVER STILL, and two days of my daughter continuing to decline I rush her to her pediatrician who tells me right away that she HAS PNEUMONIA. The ER department needs to do better and learn how to be compassionate especially to CHILDREN. Can’t do that? Don’t choose a profession where you have to save lives with empathy. I will be following up with the ER doctor that treated my daughter. So so disappointed in the ER but thankful there are a handful of doctors that can actually do their job.

Emma Paolini The staff here was incredible. Extremely kind, attentive, understanding, thoughtful, and comforting. Cannot say enough for how valued they are. Big thank you to all ER nurses and staff! You guys are incredible. Despite the circumstances of being sick in a hospital for two day, my stay was really quiet comfortable and the I was ensured a speedy recovery with every care need met. Thank you San Diego Medical Center!

Chanou Alb Doctor Alfredo Quinonez & his wife are the best! Good listener always helpful and have the right medication. As a french lady I went to different dr but nothing is compared to Dr Quinonez his services helped so much during my time in san diego when I had some health issues and as an asthmatic person I needed the right treatments. I can’t wait to be back to SD this year and visit They have a great team, yes there is a little bit of wait but nothing is too long to wait when we take care of ourselves!

Derek Connor Very robotic/mechanical feel to every touch point in this office, especially when it comes to interacting with the physician. Doctor was more concerned with hunting and pecking on the keyboard to enter in the answers to the same questions I filled out in the 10+ pages of new patient forms, then he was actually getting to know a new patient and/or having a basic human introduction to a new client. Staff and Nurses were nice enough, but also very rushed and not personable w/their interactions.

I was having a Heart attack right there! I got immediate attention and response team and the ladies had to do chest compressions on me to bring me back! I was gone for about 6 minutes! Im ever so thankful & grateful to all the staff there! I love them! They took excellent care of me for 5 weeks following!! Thank You Coronado!

Emily Byrnes Being in the hospital is never easy, but my family members have been hospitalized here twice in the last couple of years for orthopedic procedures. The floor they are admitted to is extremely large and busy but the nursing staff are excellent. Will be back. Special thanks to the nurse who moved my father to a nice room with a view to help with his recovery. That meant more than anything, thank you for listening to us. Thank you Scripps !

Eddie Coastal At this hospital, the specialists and the doctors do not talk to each other. They do not help you trying to make your visit easier. One is trying to discharge you. Why the others trying to do it procedure on you? My daughter has been here 7 different times and the doctors come by once every day, or once every 2 days, not interested in helping you. If its not an easy case for them. They will not try to be involved. I do not like this place

George Ohnesorgen Just wanted to say that as one not wanting to visit a hospital often, it was nice knowing (and being part of)!Kaiser. Their staff was at all times polite, courteous, knowledgeable and professional in every way. All needs were met and sometimes done prior to me asking for assistance from doctors to nurses, orderlies and cleaning staff. Great facilities as well.

Jamie Martinez Everyone is absolutely amazing at this hospital. We had to take my 1 yr old son into the emergency room- 1/15/25. From the moment we got there, the ER tech was absolutely warming and sweet to my son. He was so courteous. The RN that registered us, was so professional and caring towards him. She was great. When we went back, the RN, MD, and ultrasound tech were all exceptionally kind, patient, and, out of this world, caring! I’m so grateful for them and all they did to make us feel at home. Thank you from the bottom of my/our heart(s). It means so much to us.

Martin Lucero I have been Dr. Dorins patient for 2 years but that ends today because of the incompetence of the front office staff... 3 months ago she told me i needed a crown. I have primary and secondary insurance and the office staff claimed that i was uninsured, claimed they fixed this, then told me again i am uninsured. Then on the phone i was told this was fixed and the crown authorization was submitted... it wasnt. Finally Dr. Dorin somewhat straightened it out but they never call me back, never return calls, never answer their phones... i called Delta myself today, the claim was denied because they didnt submit the dentists name, license number and delta dental ID. Im done. 3 months waiting on front office staffs incompetence is long enough. If you have medi- call, youre probably ok, but private insurance? Id go elsewhere.

Alexandria D I recently moved to SD and needed a medical provider to maintain prescriptions & establish care with. This clinic got me in in under 2 weeks and they were very understanding and accommodating. Dr. Hacholski was beyond fantastic. He provided me what I believe was the most thorough and comprehensive doctor appt I’ve ever had. I felt like he asked lots of questions, listened to all of my concerns and made sure I felt heard. He addressed a lot of issues I’ve had going on for quite some time but that have just gone somewhat ignored until now. I came in for some refills & a basic physical and left with reassurance and confidence knowing my health is in good hands. Everyone from the front desk secretary, the MA, and the doctor were all very kind. I have literally never left a review for my healthcare before, but acknowledging their excellence felt necessary!

Grant Charles “Chuck” Ive been going to this Family Health Center for over a year-and-a-half. I will go nowhere else. At times Ive have taken two buses and a trolley to get to there and did it gladly! The front office, the nurses aides, and even the blood lady are awesome here. I have never had a unreasonable wait time here. And Ive shown up more than once without an appointment. These some of the contributing reasons for my reluctance and delay in reviewing my City College Family Health Center. Why ruin a good thing by spreading the word. My only quote disappointment is that when Im having my blood drawn they dont stock the Minion Band-Aids, just Looney Toons. One must solgier on. But for me the real standout here at this Family Health Center is Physicians Assistant Scott Schellie (PA-C)!!! In my 53+ years of seeing doctors in the ER, by appointment, and on the field, he is one of the best there is! This is quite a statement even for me, but I believe that Mr. Schellie has true concern for my wellbeing. That being said, this in my opinion goes a long way with a patient when youre sick and or in pain. He has always taken the time to answer my questions and to explain anything I have a concern with and dont fully understand. Maybe not so unusual, but he does it without being condescending or starting the "your going beyond your time slot and his patience" sideways shuffle towards the door. Its that youre taking up too much of my time tension that can and does fill the air in most medical offices and hospital ERs. Thanks again Family Health Center at City College. You are the best! Mrs. Gomez I delivered a healthy beautiful surrogate baby girl on 2/14/25. This was my first time at Scripps La Jolla and I’ve never had such a great experience during childbirth like I did this time. From the moment I checked into L&D the nurses immediately took care of me. My midwife on call for my doctor both were absolutely incredible. I love that they asked what I wanted and also provided me guidance and options during my entire labor experience. My nurses during childbirth and postpartum care were very supportive. I was well taken care of during my stay here. I appreciate the nurses because you can tell this wasn’t just a job for them but something they are passionate about doing and absolutely love. If you haven’t had your baby here and you’ve been wondering about your experience here I’d highly recommend it. Thank you L&D plus postpartum nurses and doctors for taking care great care of me, the parents, and baby!

Elk Hunter The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly My wife had surgery for a pacemaker replacement on February 6. GOOD: The medical staff-Dr Rogers, Dr Martin, nurse Natalia, etc were beyond GOOD-they were exceptional. BAD: We left about 6:30 PM. Very poor, if any, lighting between the hospital and the parking garage. Walking paths were not illuminated at all. Car lanes were barely lit at all. UGLY: I had knee replacement surgery last year and walk/hobble with a cane. At Noon there was a golf cart person in the parking garage to give me a ride back to the hospital entrance. At night nobody was available. When I inquired of personnel, I was told nothing available and they made no effort to help me. I had to hobble the whole way to the garage-no lighting. Almost got hit by a car twice. This is a very bad situation for everyone. Today my knees are so stiff and sore that I can hardly move Cheers, Walt Bratten

The ELITE If you would like to go to a place where nurses and front desk staff judge you and spread negative narratives about you to the other staff so they can judge you just the same then this is the place for you. Which is unfortunate because the doctors seem very helpful. Id rather die slowly than come back up here and be made fun of and treated less than a human being. I wish the best for them and thier patients. They may see this post and laugh but its just a testament to their behavior. SMH

Doris C Meshack My son is a dependant adult, 41 years old. We saw Dr. Turner. From the moment we entered the lobby until our appointment ended everyone was kind, professional and friendly. The wait time was reasonable and the nurse who escorted us into the exam room was sweet, friendly and caring. The doctor had the most beautiful bedside manner. He cared enough to read through my sons medical record so as to familiarize himself with my son. He was a kind, considerate, medical professional and we felt cared for. My son and I both felt comfortable and appreciate the care he received today.

Sheryl Titus 10 east worst nurses around Especially nurse Heidi bad attitudes very disrespectful. Hospitality here ucsd HILCREST is by far the worst I’ve ever seen. Came here from sharps for anaphylaxis and caught rsv and then thursh. I’m amino compromised cause I have lupus and end stage renal failure. Then they gave contrast multiple times knowing highly allergic to it regarding my allergies to it can kill me. Also did unnecessary procedures I didn’t need. I came to the hospital with one thing and ended up having more things go wrong me. Nurses are full of here very titled cause there at there pay. Bring attitudes with them to work miss treat patients. Had nurse in icu treat me bad named Lori cause she was over whelmed. Yesterday had Heidi and her little clan be disrespectful and call security on me when I wasn’t the problem they were lied and tried to play in my face and filed a false call so the floor got written up. So now all of sudden want to rush my recovery time since they messed up. Just know don’t come here unless you really have to. Or go ucsd La Jolla if you could. Horrible from the er surgery nurses to main floors come here if you wanna die or not get proper care. Or you want to be in a shared room with someone that you don’t know why there here. Go here at your own risk

marilyn Connelly Emergency room service was absolutely horrible. It was not crowded and after 4 hours of waiting in her room we still have no results for blood work and ultrasound. We saw the dr for literally 4 min in 4 hours. No one came to check on my daughter and they did not even start her IV drip, it was just hanging there. Very rude staff! When I questioned the staff member he told me it could take 6 to 12 hours!! What in the world how are they allowed to do this??

Michael Aviles UCSD Health is absolutely terrible. Lets see. To keep the review short, Ill limit my bad experiences to 3 areas. 1) If you need medical care in any kind of hurry, good luck. From primary care, to travel clinics, to even specialist visits, the wait times are literally months to half a year. Absolutely ridiculous. 2) It definitely feels like a training/learning environment. I had to get a biopsy done and it took two young PAs over an hour to get a non-optimal sample. The procedure should have taken 15 minutes. But instead I got 20+ tiny holes stabbed into my bones on both sides of my body (was only supposed to be one side) because they have incompetent kids straight out of school practicing on patients. Sucks. 3) Trying to get a hold of someone is a nightmare. Generally the messaging is ok, but trying to call in requires so many transfers and runarounds that a lot of the time I just give up. When I switched from Kaiser, I thought I was upgrading to a more premium provider. Boy was I wrong. Next open enrollment Im sprinting back to Kaiser. UCSD is the worst. Avoid if you can!

I would not hesitate to return if ever needed. The nursing staff was also amazing.

I had a great experience from the time I arrived til I left. Mona, the front desk coordinator was awesome. Very friendly and kind. Michael, the tester, was laid back, informative, personal yet professional. He made me feel very comfortable throughout my visit. Jenni, I think she was the medical assistant or nurse, she was nice too. Dr. Burk was the bomb! Very kind, patient, prompt and reassuring. Ezra in phlebotomy, was also wonderful. I told him my veins are small and like to roll, so I can be a hard draw, but he got it on the first try! The office wasnt busy, it was clean throughout, I was able to be seen pretty much right away. I had a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend and come here again. Thank you Mona, Michael, Jenni, Dr. Burk and Ezra!!

I wasnt sure if I had been early to my appointment or not and these women were very cold and aggressive since I stated I wasnt sure what my appointment time was. I am not feeling well and hearing I can reschedule over and over was rude. These women need to learn customer service and empathy.

I have care established at the clinic, and I have been trying to get appointments since last one month, but every time they say they don’t have appointment with any provider for next 2 weeks and every time they try to send me to the urgent care. When I finally had the appointment scheduled for today, they cancelled last minute telling me that the provider is not available. Very poor customer service, and scheduling a simple appointment has been a nightmare.

Todd Burton I have nothing but praise about the staff of the UCSD-la Jolla primary care internal medicine group. In particular, I wish to single out Dr. Nicholas Daniels. His commitment to the health and well being of his patients goes far beyond my personal experience with the medical profession. His frankness and candor, but in a highly respectful way, has given me a new lease on life. I feel that he cares about myself and my family, rather then just as patients and clients . If you want a doctor who cares, be straight and reach the best path of treatment for you, then this is the Doctor for you. I wish I could rate more than five stars.

Both times I stayed for about 24 hrs so not too long but those both times were horribly boring and though you were given books and coloring books not being able to move around and go out was terrible. Also considering my social anxiety having to ask for paper towels and small things all the time was a little scary for me. I did get free food which is nice. The first time was terrifying. I basically cried myself to sleep. Having all those people watch me was scary but I mean they did keep me safe so ig thats all that matters. I just wish people there would introduce themselves even if they switch shifts and I may not be able to see them again I think that would have made me more comfortable. Also I wish the rooms were not like in an office setting because idk it was just weird for me to wake up to rustling of paper and typing.

It was supposed to be a 72 hour hold and they refused to keep them even for 24 hours. They dont take mental health seriously and try to be lazy with their work instead or truly helping the people in their care.

Evelyn Manye I had an accident Jan 10th and was taken to the ER by an ambulance with a neck brace, broken lips and bloodied face and a lot of bruises. This place is a nightmare and I believe they watch people die everyday for the pleasure. The Dr was nonchalant, the nurse couldnt be bothered. She ordered CT scans and xrays, took 3 hours for me to get any information from them. She finally came to tell me I have nothing broken, I asked the neck brace be taken off because of the discomfort and sitting in that for over 5 hours. Doctor said nurse will come take it off. That took another 2 hours for the nurse to show up. I asked her why I am being ignored for so long and registered my disappointment for the horrendous treatment. The nurse blatantly told me she didnt ask the medics to bring me to the hospital. She then yelled on the hallway she will call security on me. I was astonished to say the least. The doctor came in another 2 hours later to tell me she has discharged me. Meanwhile my broken lips and bloodied face had still not been attended to. Also during the wait in braces, the billing department was too busy getting insurance to bill while I was not receiving any treatment. I was released from this ER with my still bloodied face and broken lips without any care. Two weeks later, they sent a bill of almost $21,000 to my insurance for things and treatments I never received. Unbelievable! This place is horrible! Avoid it like a plaque if its in your power Drs Name: Jon Ludwig We need to name and shame horrendous healthcare workers, thanks to them, I currently have bumpy and scared lips

How low can a staff member be to steal items from a patients when they are at their most vulnerable state. Staff and nurses was not helpful with the situation either. Neither was security. 11/23/2024 my purse was stolen from labor and delivery ! A floor that highly secured but yet my purse was stolen and they tried to use it at 7/11 crazy and sickening. Not to mention the nurses are very rude during your stay and it obvious communication is not key at this site. I work in the medical field and the lack of communication between nurses and staff is unbelievable. Do better
