  • What Clients Are Saying about Port Hueneme Beach Park (on GG)
5 /5 Ethel n Robert Palacios: There is a city ordinance no dogs allowed. For people who have cynophobia this is great! There arent many places left to go where we can be safe... The sand is soft, and there are volley ball courts, a pier and plenty of parking.
5 /5 Hans Robles: Port Hueneme Beach Park is the place to go for a day out in the sun or for a walk on the pier they also have grills for a Carne asada or burgers.
3 /5 Brian ā€œChef Breezeā€: Memorial Weekend Sunday- went with friends and a few crab traps. It was about 6pm when we pulled up to a full pier with a trap every 8 or so feet apart, and 4 or 5 people fishing between them. Then trash cans were all overflowing. Thankfully, there were a few families who had been there all afternoon who were leaving so we could set up our traps. All the people fishing were pulling up small sardines and horse mackerel. Crab traps were pulling up tiny, undersized rock crabs, which were all thrown back. Lucky for us, we had 1 of the 2 large spider crabs that were caught. My buddy who had lived there forever told me that the pier had been double length what it is now, but some strong storms had folded the end of the pier up and crashing down on over itself. Great for a local pier. Probably best to leave it to the local residents and travel a little farther for a bigger pier.
5 /5 Gregg Wagener: There is a pier for fishing, beach, surfing, picnic tables, and beautiful views. Whats not to like?
4 /5 Karen Anderson: Nice big beach. Clean and has like picnic tables on beach. Saw volleyball courts, and pier. Very nice area.

Mario Marik: Smaller museum worth visiting if you are in the area, Mullens, Seabees and Commemorative Air Force are nearby if you need more incentive. Make sure however, that you check the schedule, and dont go when there is an event there and check the hours of course. I thought I would go to a model hobby event there then spend some time looking at the real cars. BIG mistake, as they used the walkways to put the hobby show and blocked access to the cars. While it is nice for the club to be able to put on the show there, I was expecting a hall for this, especially since they reached out through the national chapter of the hobby event. Instead there was limited space for the vendors and model judging event. So neither really fulfilled my expectations, though I am glad I went, the model trains were really nice. I might go there again, but who knows when that will be. This was my first trip to LA in some decades.

Rico Babies: Absolutely terrible park. Very UNSAFE and DANGEROUS. Park it not closed off still accessible for children to get hurt. Some parts are boarded while others are open waiting for a child to fall. Paint is rusted and metal is sticking out!!! Do better oxnard.

Dee P: Nice little park to take an afternoon walk or whatever time of the day. You can throw a picnic mat to lay around. But no play area like swing and slide for kids. Still still child friendly park.

Makar Egle (eglectic): One of my new favorite places! Free to enter and lots to see and do. It seems like there are several hiking trails. This place also has specialty gardens as well as a bird habitat and butterfly garden. The children’s garden is only open Sunday mornings, but the rest of the grounds is always there for you to explore. Keep in mind, the hills are relatively steep, so the hikes could be moderately challenging for some. Another cool things is that a lot of the plants are labeled, plus there are plaques with literacy and activity suggestions for kids.
