1 /5 Alexis Roucourt: Gotta love landmarks that dont update their opening season details and waste peoples time. Sure, magnificent spot but suggest to call ahead: maps says open until 4pm today and the attached photo is the sad reality.

5 /5 Crystal: The estate is beautiful and well maintained. Every room is restored and furnished with beautiful 1930s pieces. The kitchen and the bathrooms were my favorite parts. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

5 /5 Uwe Lagemann: A nice shingle beach area in a wide not so over crowded area. The parking is shadowed by the trees and the historic buildings are well preserved. Even at the beach you have enough shadow and shaded sitting areas. Attached to the nice souvenirshop is a small exhibition with nicely arrsnged dioramas of the local fauna. I suggest having a look at it, too! The rent for the boats and boards is on daily basis and the prices per day are in the level of an hour in other locations! We were truly positively surprised.

Fannette Island Tea House - South Lake Tahoe

Kelly L: Wish I had brought a waterproof camera bag to take photos from the tea house. We arrived by boat, anchored out, and swam to the island. The hike up was rocky but short. Very crowded. A lot of people were barefoot and looked just fine, but I was glad to be in Keens. Interesting story behind the structure and worth a visit to Vikingholm.

Bayview Trailhead - South Lake Tahoe

Maria Prince: This trail will take you to the beautiful Cascade Falls. The hike up to the trail is easy to moderate depending on endurance and strength in order to be able to climb up and down steep rocks. The pathway has a lot of sand which makes the hike a bit slippery without proper shoes. The trail is on the side of the mountain which allows a perfect view of Emerald Bay as you make your way up and down the falls. We spent some time just viewing the gorgeous lake and the falls. Overall it is a beautiful place to hike. Make sure to get there early as parking is limited. There is a fee of $10, and will allow access to Bay View Trail, Desolation Trail and Inspiration Point.

Gatekeepers Museum - Tahoe City

Town Traveller: Beautiful museum and you will learn alot about the history of Lake Tahoe. From the socialites who build their summer homes to the ships that sank into the lake. It also has the largest collection of native american baskets!

Trey Joe (Adventure Hermit): I went here expecting to see random railroad tracks. Instead, these are tracks running from the boathouse to launch boats. Still very much worth it. The park also has two miles of beach front to walk with many other sites to see.

Glen Alpine Trailhead-Lily - South Lake Tahoe

Jen Wheelock: It’s a narrow road with potholes to get there but it’s worth the drive. It does not have a lot of parking. However you can park down by the Ranger building. At least you can in April. I suggest going on a weekday. Not crowded. We went in April so the waterfall was flowing strong.
