Fannette Island Tea House - South Lake Tahoe (CA)

5 /5 Kelly L: Wish I had brought a waterproof camera bag to take photos from the tea house. We arrived by boat, anchored out, and swam to the island. The hike up was rocky but short. Very crowded. A lot of people were barefoot and looked just fine, but I was glad to be in Keens. Interesting story behind the structure and worth a visit to Vikingholm.

Take a lunch, find a rock outside the teahouse to perch on, wave at the boats circling the island and soak in the beauty of where you are. Theres a reason Mrs.Knight had this built, and youll appreciate it as you sit there.

5 /5 John Fields: Before going here I would recommend visiting the vikingholm due to them being directly related to each other history wise, but if your just looking for adventure I would arrive early to the beach so that you can secure your spot in line to rent a kayak, the line builds up quick. The island itself is quite interesting and provides some beautiful visuals of the surrounding area.

3 /5 somkietr rojanasathit: It is a stone building on top of the Fannette island, the only island in Emerald bay of Lake Tahoe. It was built in 1929. Now it is a ruin with no roof. You can hike up if you can arrive by private boat to the island but the island has no pier! You can see this Fannette island and this stone Tea House ruins from the Inspirstion Point viewing area on the hill on highway 89.
