5 /5 Trey Joe (Adventure Hermit): I went here expecting to see random railroad tracks. Instead, these are tracks running from the boathouse to launch boats. Still very much worth it. The park also has two miles of beach front to walk with many other sites to see.

4 /5 Derek & Kristen Alonzi: A little bit of a let down but I have a feeling we would have got better photos in the morning. The park is still very much worth visiting - tours of Pinehurst lodge, great picnic areas (with a bear visitor!), clean bathrooms, a gorgeous walk along the water featuring huge sequoias and families of geese. In the evening there is no sun which made for a chilly visit on a 65 degree day.

5 /5 Anna S: Great spot with no one else visiting when we were there. Cost is $5 to park using the kiosk, ample parking even if busy. Trail is gravel and easy. Very cool boat launch and history. Great beach view of the lake as well. Real restrooms at the front, actually clean unlike other parks in Lake Tahoe.

Gold Bug Park & Mine - Placerville

Tatiana Athena Dominguez: We absolutely loved our trip to gold bug park, gem panning was super fun (though the water was absolutely freezing… keep in mind for children) but the mine tour was amazing! Pop gave us such a good and memorable tour, made me feel comfortable because I’m very claustrophobic but was able to do the tour! Prices are great! And there’s a lovely picnic area too.

El Dorado County Historical Museum - Placerville

Marcia Zientek: Our docent was very knowledgeable, explaining the exhibits. We learned much more about the history of the area.

Lumsden Park - Placerville

Mary Rebikone: Lumsden Park is a small playground located in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by trees and fresh air. There’s no restroom, but there are a couple of picnic tables (without grills). One unique feature of this park is the nearby lake — we saw kids coming specifically to fish there, which seems like a fun and engaging activity for them.

Lisa Proctor: Heather is a pioneer of ElDorado County. She has a vast knowledge of the history. She goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy your visit. She loves her job and it shows. She was very helpful in helping find information on my family. Definitely worth stopping in.

Apple Hill - Placerville

Carmen Cruz: My first time there, lots of good pastries, apples done in every way deliciously made, bottled, in baskets too! Theres a pond there with picnic tables and ducks in the water, Be careful with the Apple Fritters, tooo delicious and huge! And very friendly people all around, the grounds are clean too.

Druid Monument - Placerville

P Amy- Freebird “freebird”: Unfortunate placement, its in the middle of a very busy intersection. No way to get a good picture unless you Dodge traffic and stand in the middle of the road. No historical back ground except what is on the monument, which is difficult to read because of placement.
