5 /5 Maria Prince: This trail will take you to the beautiful Cascade Falls. The hike up to the trail is easy to moderate depending on endurance and strength in order to be able to climb up and down steep rocks. The pathway has a lot of sand which makes the hike a bit slippery without proper shoes. The trail is on the side of the mountain which allows a perfect view of Emerald Bay as you make your way up and down the falls. We spent some time just viewing the gorgeous lake and the falls. Overall it is a beautiful place to hike. Make sure to get there early as parking is limited. There is a fee of $10, and will allow access to Bay View Trail, Desolation Trail and Inspiration Point.

5 /5 Vipul Singh: Did Tallac in the morning, then got to Bayview Trailhead around 2:15pm on a Sunday in August. All the free parking spots along the road were taken, and I actually wasted quite a bit of time trying to find one. Gave up and went into the paid parking lot (10$), lots of room there. Cascade Falls were dry. Went up to Maggies Peak via Granite Lake - found it tough to find the trail, and ended up doing 5.4 miles even though AllTrails says this is only a 4.1 mile hike. After the hike, ran over to Inspiration Point across the road, and it was well worth it. The trail is quite steep at times - could feel my quads burning.

5 /5 gopi chand: One of the best snow hikes ever. Summer seems to be ideal time for a pleasant hike. Saw a couple of skiers on the way to the top.

5 /5 Brendan Kiely: The Bayview Trail near Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe is a beautiful but difficult trail to hike in Tahoe. It climbs about 2,000 ft. in elevation in 2 miles up to Maggies Peaks but the views of Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe from the summit are beautiful. Recommended if you are up for a challenging steep but short hike with great views.

Glen Alpine Trailhead-Lily - South Lake Tahoe

Jen Wheelock: It’s a narrow road with potholes to get there but it’s worth the drive. It does not have a lot of parking. However you can park down by the Ranger building. At least you can in April. I suggest going on a weekday. Not crowded. We went in April so the waterfall was flowing strong.

Tatiana Athena Dominguez: We absolutely loved our trip to gold bug park, gem panning was super fun (though the water was absolutely freezing… keep in mind for children) but the mine tour was amazing! Pop gave us such a good and memorable tour, made me feel comfortable because I’m very claustrophobic but was able to do the tour! Prices are great! And there’s a lovely picnic area too.

Mary Rebikone: Lumsden Park is a small playground located in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by trees and fresh air. There’s no restroom, but there are a couple of picnic tables (without grills). One unique feature of this park is the nearby lake — we saw kids coming specifically to fish there, which seems like a fun and engaging activity for them.

Lisa Proctor: Heather is a pioneer of ElDorado County. She has a vast knowledge of the history. She goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy your visit. She loves her job and it shows. She was very helpful in helping find information on my family. Definitely worth stopping in.
