05-2025 H & L Studio in The Best 18 Hair Salons in Chula Vista, CA (part 2) Lounge Salon - Chula Vista Rosa Hernandez: I had a one star experience. When I walked in for my appointment, Alma asked if I saw the text message she sent me I was confused since we set the appointment over the phone. She texted me to move my appointment from 1:00 to 1:30. Anyways I was waiting since 1 o’clock for my appointment did not get attended until 2:30 I was supposed to get a color and keratin treatment. After the color and wash she said that it’s her husband’s birthday and to excuse her for she will not be finishing the appointment and was trying to have me leave home half done. As I got up to leave she asked the next client to sit down on the chair to do a keratin treatment on her. That’s when I decided to speak up for myself explaining how this is unprofessional and and unfair the owner of the store came to speak with me and asked if I wanted her to dry my hair I said yes I would appreciate it. That’s when Alma spoke up and told the owner “ No No no do not touch her hair I started I will finish the hair the owner said will if you want” that’s when she said well she will have to come back on Monday to finish the hair. The owner did not try to help me out the same day she did not want to help fix the issue the same day she also agreed with Alma and told me to come back on Monday. Like what!??
Shampoos Salon - Chula Vista Lucy Hurd: I am sharing my experience with a certain hairstylist! I am unsure of her name but I remember her being Mexican and having curly hair, I had asked for a picture around shoulder length and she gave me a pixie cut, then when I proceeded to tell her just leave it wet because the damage had already been done she made me get it straightened, when I told her I didn’t like it she said “but this is what you asked for” in what world is a shoulder length haircut a pixie?? If I could give this hairstylist negative stars I would! and i am for sure not coming back!!
Shear Envy Salon & Spa - Chula Vista Rachael Planishek: Please avoid this salon unless you want your hair ruined. As a background, I’ve been getting balayages done for 5 years now so I had the blonde base to work with. I showed the stylist the first picture as my inspo pic (which has been the same inspo pic since I started getting balayages) and she quoted me a price of almost 400$. I agreed to the price because it was similar to what I had paid before. I should’ve been alarmed from the beginning when the stylist said she wasn’t going to touch my roots. I always have them do color on my roots 1-2 shades darker than my natural color to create a nice contrast (as seen in the inspo pic as well.) When it came time to blow dry, I noticed that my entire head looked like it was nothing but a dark ashy blonde. When I raised concerns about this, my stylist said that they don’t touch the roots for a balayage and that it would be 85$ for them to do my roots. If I needed a shadow root, she should’ve known from the moment I showed her the inspo pic and should’ve included it in the initial price. She was resistant to getting her manager and only after getting her involved did they finally say it would be free of charge. Then when she was drying my hair off after the shadow root, you could tell it was haphazardly done. There are blocks that look weird right in the front of my face and there’s not melting of the colors so it looks awful. Also my ends are significantly darker than they were when I came in (see the third picture for my prior blonde color and the second picture for what I left with today.) When I raised this concern to my stylist, she just told me that it would lighten when I washed it. I told her when I came in that I was going on vacation in 2 days and was getting my hair done for that. I had no intention of washing my hair prior to vacation because I knew they would be washing it today. But then it didn’t even matter because she left a ton of dye in my hair so the hairs around my neck were stuck together and the dye stained my clothing because I didn’t know it was there (please see fourth picture of what was coming out of my hair before I washed it.) I had to come home and immediately shower. So I paid 400$+ for hair that I will now have to get touched up at another salon. Highly dissatisfied and will definitely not return. I also want to warn others because your money would be better spent somewhere else. If you’re going to go here, just be prepared to have to go somewhere when they mess up your hair.
Divas Hair Salon - Chula Vista Tiffany Karr: Sulin is a wonderful she is great with hair Ive been going to Divas since 2007 I recommend. Shes fair not too expensive because its pro job and shes. A very down to earth kind respectful person who will be honest with u.if she can do something you want or not .

Phenix Salon Suites - Chula Vista Stacy Flores: UPDATE!° 6-29-2023
IT has been 9 months now, and I still go to Kassandra and love her more and more . SINCE THEN Now my husband, my two sons go to her and they just love her cuts . SO go check her out if you want an awesome haircut from a person who truly loves what she does. Still a 5 STAR!
I went to Kassandra, and shes in suite 123 at Phenix Salon, in the Chula Vista mall. I havent gotten my hair done in many yrs because I couldnt find a hairstylist. I liked or felt comfortable with it. Then along came Kassandra, she did an amazing job. I just loved the way my hair turned out she cares about your hair and takes care to make sure your hair is healthy and treated before she even starts the highlight process. SHE also explains everything she will do to your hair, In my case, My hair wasnt ready to take the bleach so she helped me make it ready and I went back for treatments, not once but three times then when she felt it could take the chemicals she did my highlights. I am super happy and will go there again if you live in the San Diego area. And looking for a hairstylist, shes the one who truly cares about her clients and their hair! You wont regret it!! Sola Salon Studios - Chula Vista Tayrene Edwards: One Nail Studio #56 by Annie. She is really sweet and takes the time needed on your nails. I loved not feeling rushed for the next customer. I got a shellac mani/pedi for my vacation for $72. Its been almost 2 weeks and my nails still look good (keep in mind pics are 2 weeks old)
Ursulas Hair With A Flair - Chula Vista Joan Parsons: Ursula is awesome, great haircut always, old school haircutting quality. Ive been going to her for my last 5 cuts, Ill only let her cut my hair from now on, Id give her 10 stars if I could.
Hair Cut Place - Chula Vista Jackie Juárez Vázquez: Been to this place twice this year and Im very happy with the service. The place is clean and friendly environment. I got what I asked for, just a 2 inch cut and a layer. Other places have cut more than I asked.. and finally I found a person, that listens..thanks Norma.
Hidden Beauty Salon - Chula Vista Amanda Botelho: I used to be the girl who would go from salon to salon, never really happy with how my hair turned out, until a friend recommended Sarah! I have been getting my hair done at hidden beauty since it opened in the alley. I always book with Sarah and she does amazing balayage, highlights and haircuts. I always leave her salon feeling great and loving the end results! The little cafe bar is also super cute and delicious!
