Lauryn Arce I’ve been seeing Jovi since I lived in San Diego; I’m now in NYC but will plan to get my hair done with her specifically whenever I’m back in town. I always get a balayage and cut, and the look comes out exactly the way I want it to every time. Even after lightening my (naturally black colored) hair, it never feels dry in the months afterwards. Overall, the expertise of the stylist + the welcoming environment of the new salon are worth booking an appointment for!

alison vargas I am so glad Edna finally opened her very own salon. I have been going to her for my hair care needs for years now because she is talented and actually takes care of my hair. She is honest and very skilled. Her salon is a safe space and has a very inviting and trendy ambiance. Her staff is friendly and you can tell they all treat each other and their clients like family. Nazo also provides waxing and nail services which are also top notch! The nail tech is great! I usually hate getting my nails done because I always get cut or hurt, but Karely did not hurt me or cut me once! She made the experience enjoyable.

Patty Chavez This has been my go to salon for over 3 years. Andrea is my hair stylists one of the best. They are super friendly and their vibe is like family. They make you feel so welcomed. My 2 girls also get their haircut here. Both Raquel and Andrea cut my girls hair. I will never go to another salon. During COVID, they have followed the guidelines very well. They are also about the quality of their work and always make sure you leave happy.

Flores Carolina (Caro) I had gotten really bad highlights done on my hair at another salon and went to this studio to get it fixed, i asked lupita if she could fix it, I wanted it super blonde and for it to look as natural as possible, and that’s exactly what I got! Desirae Ferguson I was tempted to not leave a review but I thought I should share my experience as someone with curly hair. I was recommended this salon by people I know and have gone here a couple of times over the years. This time was very bad. He doesn’t pick up the phone and fits people in between other appointments. I had asked for an even bob and was given an inverted one because I asked for volume taken out. It takes two seconds to mess someone’s hair up and years for them to regain their confidence. He was nice enough to fix my hair when I came back to his salon the next day but unfortunately it wasn’t enough and now I have to invest in a wig. It’s a great salon I just wouldn’t recommend those with curly hair going here. As someone with curly hair it’s harder to style our hair and most of us don’t want to leave the salon with a clown shaped haircut or our hair styled like the mad hatter. The last photo is the one where he fixed the uneven layers which I am greatful for but then again my hair is going to take a long time to grow out before I can tie it behind my head. Like I said it’s a great salon just not for us curly hair girls.

Rosa Vazquez Maria set up a last minute appointment for me and helped me as soon as I arrived. She gave me beautiful baby blonde highlights and a pretty long layered cut. She was very nice and professional.

Karolayn De La Rosa Even after 4 years, still AMAZING! I temporarily moved out of the area, and now that I’m back, I decided to return to this salon. Just like I remembered, the place was very comforting and clean! Rafi did an amazing job with the hairstyle I wanted and even gave me some advice (he saved me from getting bangs because now that I think about it, I would’ve regretted them!). He layered my hair just how I wanted and made sure the layers complemented my face! And thank you to Mike as well; he gave me the cutest blowout and laughed at my jokes. The point is, if you want to go somewhere that makes you feel comfortable, get your ideal hairstyle, and enjoy a couple of laughs, ONE SALON with Rafi & Mike is the place to go!

Elle The owner gave me a refund but I still feel obligated to share with you. I was genuinely disappointed in my whole experience here but I hope it was just a one off thing. To start the robe they give you is more like a spa robe and doesn’t even keep the hair off of you. More importantly, I came here specifically for someone to help me with my Irish curls/ 2b hair and he acted like he could when we talked on the phone before the appointment. Immediately when we started it was obvious he wasn’t familiar with my hair type. He brushed out my curls/ waves without any detangler, being a lot rougher than I am bc I do my best to prevent breakage since my hair is so fine. Then he only gave me the most basic a trim and didn’t listen at all to the layers and shape I wanted to add for volume and to help my curls be healthier/ have more shape. After he washed my hair he completely brushed it back/ flat (this won’t work for my hair type at all). I tried to give him guidance on how to get the curl clusters to form (you have to do it really wet, upside down, with lots of water and conditioner to help the curls form. Then squish the water out gently and don’t ruin the curls as they dry) but he wouldn’t listen at all.. After washing them, he literally brushed all my curls out (back and down not even up/ away from my scalp for volume or doing it using a curl clumping brush.. there was just no attempt to help the curls form) then he put in product and used the diffuser on the highest setting to the point where it was burning my scalp.. I kept trying to tell him my curls won’t form this way bc he had brushed them out already but he insisted.. then when he decided he was done frying my hair with the high heat he tried to send me home with flat, frizzy, super crunchy, damp hair!! I was obviously unhappy and was just honest telling him I can get my curls to look a lot healthier so I’d just restyle it as soon as I get home.. He then was like ‘fine we’ll do it your way’ but then after washing my hair for me he left me to completely style it myself.. even as I was letting him know how to be gentle with my hair and help the curls.. he walked away while I was doing my own hair and just left me there while he did something else.. so I got sent home with wet, limp hair thankful for the trim I just feel like I could’ve done this myself at home.. He was a nice enough guy but it was just not what I was hoping for in a professional.

Zugi Torres October 2024 I had been wanting to get hair extensions for a while now, and Sofia finally made it happened for me. The color match was perfect, and Sofia paid careful attention to detail, ensuring that I was satisfied with the results. Even when I requested a slight adjustment, she didn’t hesitate to briefly squeeze me in when she was off. That is great customer service! April 2024 I was looking for a new stylist and colorist when I found Sofia. She took me in although she was just about to leave, and I’m super thrilled that she did. Not only did she take her time to listen to my requests, she also took the time to explain her processes and expectations. She is very personable, friendly, she makes sure her clients feel welcomed. She corrected my hair color and trimmed my hair to perfection. Protect YourEnergy Walked in with a super messed up, self bleached head of hair, and wow! Nohemí took on the challenge of fixing my mess, let me tell you, they are truly color specialist! And the price was a steal! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and Nohemí did such a beautiful job, took care of me so well. Definitely recommend this very professional hair salon to everyone!

Nadia Henning So I just want to say going in for the first time I had somewhat good expectations after seeing a relatives hair cut and color. She did a great job on her hair. However Im wondering what the heck she did to mine?! First off, the actual owner Alicia cut my hair. She didnt clean the hair from the previous client when it was my turn. I have never been to salon where they didnt wash and condition your hair. She cut it dry. I told her I wanted my hair to be thinned out a bit considering I have really full hair. Well the thinning she did was horrible. She didnt blend my hair at all. It was almost like she did a rough cut and that was it. Then she just straightened it. I had to have someone else fix my hair after because she did such a horrible job. Im sooo glad I didnt get my hair colored with Alicia. I was really hoping just to be pampered a bit especially since I dont get out much because of my newborn. Honestly the work she did makes me wonder how she even has a license.

Lucy Hurd I am sharing my experience with a certain hairstylist! I am unsure of her name but I remember her being Mexican and having curly hair, I had asked for a picture around shoulder length and she gave me a pixie cut, then when I proceeded to tell her just leave it wet because the damage had already been done she made me get it straightened, when I told her I didn’t like it she said “but this is what you asked for” in what world is a shoulder length haircut a pixie?? If I could give this hairstylist negative stars I would! and i am for sure not coming back!!

Libran Soul Went in for a simple blow out styling, and turns out this stylist of 25 years didn’t have the proper tools or techniques on how successfully do her job, even after a picture was shown. The worst part is I was still charged the $35 dollar amount for a style that wasn’t even done properly or correct, and completed her sale with a, “I’m sorry.” Horrible customer service, if it were me, and had an unhappy customer, I wouldn’t of charged or atleast gave a major discount for an inadequate job especially to someone who was a first time client. If you can’t do the job up front and don’t have the tools, then say something instead of taking people’s money for a insufficient job. I walked out looking ridiculous. I will never go back nor recommend this place.

Salon Escape has an array of professionals that cut, color and did I mention nails? They also sell a variety of grooming products. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Stacy Flores UPDATE!° 6-29-2023 IT has been 9 months now, and I still go to Kassandra and love her more and more . SINCE THEN Now my husband, my two sons go to her and they just love her cuts . SO go check her out if you want an awesome haircut from a person who truly loves what she does. Still a 5 STAR! I went to Kassandra, and shes in suite 123 at Phenix Salon, in the Chula Vista mall. I havent gotten my hair done in many yrs because I couldnt find a hairstylist. I liked or felt comfortable with it. Then along came Kassandra, she did an amazing job. I just loved the way my hair turned out she cares about your hair and takes care to make sure your hair is healthy and treated before she even starts the highlight process. SHE also explains everything she will do to your hair, In my case, My hair wasnt ready to take the bleach so she helped me make it ready and I went back for treatments, not once but three times then when she felt it could take the chemicals she did my highlights. I am super happy and will go there again if you live in the San Diego area. And looking for a hairstylist, shes the one who truly cares about her clients and their hair! You wont regret it!!
