5 /5 Dominik Muro: I took my 22 month old here on a rainy day and it was seriously so awesome he loved it and I loved watching him love it. We drove from Oakland and it was well worth the drive. There were little stools for him to stand up on so he could see various things and participate in the fun. The little zoo was cute and the playground looked like a lot of fun but was too wet for us. We got a cute raccoon plushie from the gift shop to top off the end to a great visit. Definitely plan on visiting again.

5 /5 gennesis gastilo: This was cool. Mom of a 3 year old preschooler who easily gets overwhelmed in busy environments. Went midday on a Friday. Amazing staff, but most notably, amazing patrons. Every parent of children that my little interacted with was kind, friendly, courteous, and aware of their child and others around them. We spent 4 hours here without incident. I highly appreciate other parents who have empathy, who are responsible and present with their children in the activities—I got along with so many parents here that I felt very safe and comfortable as I was attending as a solo parent with my one toddler. This attracts a good solid community that appreciates personal responsibility. Everybody please continue to be the amazing person you are, raising equally amazing little yous.

4 /5 Ines Buresti: Nice place if you have the membership, if not it seems a bit expensive for what it is. Fun for toddlers and up. There are not a lot of animals so dont expect a zoo. The indoor experiments are nice and entertaining. There is an outdoor playground that is fun for all ages.

The colorful illumination exhibit was very fun for my twins and hardly anyone is there during the week. Plenty of parking. Super duper nice staff. They have a little playground attached in the back near the animals.

Play structure for 2 to 5 year olds and then older kids. Baseball field. Basketball court. It’s windy and cool when the Bay is windy. On calm days it’s really lovely.

Wei-Ai Tai: Wonderful park in San Mateo for all ages, but especially for small kids. Great playground area that is well designed and clean, large picnic tables and benches, and lots of open space for kids and pets to run around. Close to the walking trail by the water as well. Parking lot is small, but plenty of street parking. Clean restrooms.

Mariners Island Park - San Mateo

Angel Hou: Nice place for the whole family, especially for the kids! There are two parking lots on the left and right of the entrance with full capacity after 12:00 at weekend. Two playgrounds for kids, one is for toddlers, the other is for the elder. Bathroom is next to the parking lot that is close to the playground. You may BBQ here with some shades. You can also practice your balance on the surface of the water, bring your paddle board or kayak to relax here. But please throw the rubbish in the trash can to keep the environment as it was. Remember to bring a jacket in the afternoon.

Judy Margaret Chen: Cute small park but big playground for the little ones. The park has gated fences, so no worries for the children to run out on the road. It’s a quiet neighborhood, every car goes by slowly. It’s quite chilled here!

San Mateo County History Museum - Redwood City

alex eecs: One of my favorite museums Ive ever been to. All the exhibits are fascinating, with many hands on interactive portions. Want to climb into a mud wagon and imagine the experience of traveling for 9 hours along a bumpy road? Send a telegram? Drive a streetcar? Or try your hand at an 1800s gambling game? This place has it all. I loved learning about the history of the place I live, where the highways and public transit systems I use daily came from. Or seeing the evolution California license plates, from porcelain plates to how we saved steel during the war. Ive only seen one section so far out of a dozen since Im spending so much time at each exhibit. Admission is cheap, and the building looks beautiful. If you havent been I highly recommend this museum.
