L M the absolute best mechanic, ever. I have been going to Modern Auto for over 20 years-- they are expert, honest and helpful. I dont know what to say-- I wouldnt trust my Mercedes to anybody else.

Garo M Although Im a repeat customer, I always appreciate the polite, attentive and professional service. Starting from the office attendant, Hamek (I can never pronounce her name correctly) is an excellent listener regarding my auto service request. Most importantly, the repairs are done without me needing to return for warranty work and the rates are very reasonable. Keep up the good work guys!

Rita Maldonado I drove through a section of deep water during yesterdays rains (didnt see it) and my engine light immediately came on afterwards. My stomach was in knots all evening imagining all the damage I had done to my vehicle. This morning, I brought my car in to be seen (I was referred here by the equally amazing Mr Hrant) and the gentleman who attended me was so nice. They looked over the vehicle and did all the diagnostics. Thankfully the car is running just fine. Its so nice to come to a mechanic you can trust. They could have easily told me that my vehicle required X amounts of cash to fix it, but they didnt. They were honest and I respect that. I imagine my Chevy will be in need of other services in the future and Im glad theres a place in town that is able to attend to us quickly and professionally, and most of all honestly. Thank you!

Sam Kempner Crown is excellent. Phil and team are great communicators and they do excellent work. My issue took more time to resolve than anyone expected and they were patient and fair every step of the way. Definitely keep them in mind for your future repairs.

Tyler Salem This shop is fantastic. Peter (Owner) is the nicest guy. They did the front and rear pads and rotors on my 2017 Macan S at just over half the cost quoted by a nearby chain Porsche shop.

Ryan Haqq I took my porsche 911 for pre purchase inspection (PPI) at this shop. Peter provided a report after 2 hours of evaluation and basically gave me a clean report on the car. I purchased the vehicle based on Peters report and a week later, I noticed a leak from the bottom of the vehicle. My mechanic took a look and there was a leak from the steering rack and the front axles were both bad. This was a pricy repair that I didnt anticipate. I dont think Peter is dishonest, but I am disappointed that these issues were not discovered on the supposedly thorough PPI.

T Green After navigating the AI process from AAA, in which I couldn’t leave any details, I called the company they were sending myself. I explained to the helpful young lady on the phone that my keys were locked inside the car with the engine running, and I had food to drop off at church inside. She assured me the driver would be there ASAP! A-Car Auto Repair Services sent the tow truck immediately. Carlos even cut his lunch hour short to help me out. I give A-Car Auto Repair two thumbs up! Way up!

Vanessa Tellez If I could leave negative stars I would. The service here was absolutely unacceptable everyone I spoke to was inconsiderate and rude. They charged us for two days when the car was only there for 12 hours and it took them over 30 minutes to release our car after we paid the ridiculous fees. We tried to pick up our car the same night it was towed and they did not allow that even tho there was someone clearly still in the office, my guess is so that they could charge that extra day. I cannot express enough how disrespected I felt and how disrespectful they were to my mom who was only trying to get to work and it took her saying something about losing her work hours for the supervisor to even show his face and try to move the process along.

Paul Bingham Rating for self-service, pay-at-pump gas only. Pumps work reliably and are relatively clean. Not the cheapest, nor the most expensive gas prices in Pasadena. Small snack shop open into the evenings. Auto service does not have extended hours.

SANDRA STEWART Albert and George have been taking care of my entire family’s cars for years now and not only are the extremely efficient but their prices are reasonable and they’re always conscience of the time repairs take. Not only are they great mechanics, they’re wonderful people who care about their customers and their work!

Sam Poke I had an issue with my cars suspension, and I was referred to this auto repair shop by a friend. From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. The quality of their suspension repair work was outstanding. My car now feels like its gliding on air. When it comes to value, they exceeded my expectations. The pricing was reasonable, and they even went the extra mile by inspecting other components for no additional cost. This shop delivers quality and value in abundance!

Deborah Ramirez Ive been coming to Jim and Mike for a few years now since I first moved to LA! I came with some recurrent coolant issues, and they were transparent about the costs and the process. I’ve looked for second opinions too and ultimately settled with this shop. I value their honesty and commitment to helping their customers. Up to today, I’ve had my brakes changed here, my suspension, and I always get my oil changed here now. If I need my tire plugged or fixed, they always help with that as well. I’m really happy with their services. I’ll always keep returning!

Kathleen Lennox I received great service at San Marino Auto Service. My 21 year old car needed a new transmission which was replaced at a fair price and within 4 days. The owner is very friendly and he kept me informed on my cars status almost daily. Im happy to say my car is now working great.

Zach Brown I NEVER write reviews. And I hate to write a poor one. But this time, I think I need to share my experience with San Marino Auto. I dropped off my Toyota 4Runner for an estimate on what it would cost to repair my AC in the vehicle. The freon was empty. Easy fix. I expected--as I would from all reputable auto repair companies--to receive a call stating the problem and the estimate to repair the problem in question as well as recommendations for further repair/maintenance. Instead, Heros and his crew filled the freon and charged me an outrageous diagnostic fee for 1 hour of work on my vehicle, followed by the cost of the freon fill. This is unacceptable. When I drop off my vehicle and ask for an ESTIMATE, it is fundamentally unethical to fix the vehicle and charge me for services that I never authorized to begin with. I am done with San Marino Auto. And I suggest that looking for an honest auto repair shop look elsewhere.

Kathleen Jarnagin Abraham is very knowledgeable and up front with pricing including taxes. Diagnostic was timely and repairs were done ahead of scheduled. I have a 15 year old Ford Escape and it’s been running well since I took it to them. I’ll be using them again for my other car.

Sandy Hayakawa I found Pasadena Automotive after moving back to Altadena. Abraham is very knowledgeable about BMWs. He is thorough, fair, honest and reliable. He will complete a thorough diagnostic and recommend what work needs to be done and share what can wait. J L There was a point in time where I believed that Joe Demerjian was a huge benefit to the local communities, sadly this opinion has changed over the last few months. Here is what happened, I contacted him in November about doing the wheel bearing on my Toyota Avalon as it was making a ton of horrible noise he suggested doing both front ones at the same time I was in agreement with this. I asked him if I brought in the bearings that I wanted to use he was fine with this. The day of the project I dropped off the car and everything and went about my day. I got a call from him mid to late morning telling me that I needed a "NEW CV Axel shaft because mine broke" CV Axel shafts do not "MAGICALLY" break on their own. He told me that it did and I needed to replace it or the car would not be able to be reassembled. _____________________________________________________________ Couple months after I took my car to get the tires rotated at a place near my home, and the shop brought to my attention that my front lug nuts were fully destroyed. Whom ever took the front wheels off last time they just allowed the nuts to hit the ground which caused a lot of external physical damage to them. As a result of all of this I would NOT trust Joe Demerjian with anything again.

Creative Jeannieus Im very happy with my experience. Before choosing CARS, I called around to several places and decided to go with them based on our conversation, location and pricing. They are fair, well experienced and reasonable. No gimmicks or trying to convince me of other things. Service was great and fast.

Oliver Walker Tried a few garages, but I just love these guys. Daniel is the most communicative gentleman - gives me all the info on what’s going on with my car - and Mauricio is just excellent. I trust these guys with my 89 Ranger, and I won’t be going anywhere else.

Julia Kelleher The AC compressor in my Lexus was completely not working and I’ve been avoiding the headache of getting it fixed. Luckily I found Emiliano who was amazing and fixed it quickly for a reasonable price. He even let me keep the car there for longer than I had planned due to a change in my schedule. Now it blows super cold in time for summer!

Nicolas Ortiz I came to ac tech because I had problem with my transmission. I went to three different places before and they wanted to replace the complete transmission. Emiliano took care about everything and he replace one of the solenoids and he recommend to me do the transmission service. Very honest service and affordable price

Kimberly S. Rosas I have an old 2000 Saturn SL1 that my parents had been having problems with since December of last year. He’s old but i absolutely love this car. I’ve taken this car to multiple spots to get checked only for no one to know how to fix it. After doing some research I found this store and they were amazing. The car hasn’t been giving us any problems anymore, running smoothly, and this will now be the place I always take my car for checkups. If you had any doubts on checking these guys out I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

Keith Montalvo My wife said to give 4 stars since she feels it’s almost impossible to be perfect (5 out of 5). It was her car that got serviced and detailed and she is very happy with the results! It basically looks and runs like new! They also performed a paint-less dent removal (PDR) on the passenger door. It turned out great! She didnt expect the total cost to be as high, but that was because she was thinking of only a car servicing before adding in the detailing and PDR. She really appreciated the full mechanical diagnostic report for her review and approval prior to beginning any work. Aaron and team are wonderful to work with! Very professional and excellent quality of work!

Ernesto Mollinedo Horrible service, called him to fix’s my alternator for my dodge charger 2010 and he did more damage to it then he did fix, he was be super rude and disrespectful, he was blaming me for almost everything and then cuts the bar to my alternator and took the money and never fixed my car had to call someone else and pay twice more just to fix his mistake. DONT GO HERE/CALL THEM FOR HELP OR YOU WILL BE LEFT WOTHOUT A CAR FOR MONTHS TOO

Ryan Modesitt Eric is an amazing guy. Long story short, I had a major vehicle issue while visiting family in California. Was really struggling with who to call because I knew it would be a big job. Took a chance and called him. The hands down best service I’ve ever had. The attention to detail and care he took in getting the job done right was top shelf. I have told all my family in California about him. So much better than a dealer or big shop. You can’t go wrong with Eric.

Rick West First time here and the service and pricing did NOT disappoint. The team was fast, very professional, and friendly — I felt welcome, and Hrant welcomed me and took good care answering questions, etc. My Honda dealership wanted $530 to replace my rear brakes — Hrant did that AND did a synthetic oil change for $317! Incredible work for such a HUGE savings in price. I’ll definitely be back, and urge anyone and everyone considering to come here as well. They’ve earned my business, along with my fiancée’s.

Jenn BEST SHOP IN TOWN! GREAT SERVICE AND WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I could not be happier with the service I received at A&E Automotive. Ron (owner) and his staff were so pleasant and did not give me the run around. I had some fairly extensive repairs needed to my Edge but the cost was very reasonable and the turnaround was very quick! Being a woman, you always worry about shops trying to upcharge and sell you items you don’t need since they assume you have no clue what they are talking about but I received none of that treatment here. Ron explained everything to me and I left my car there with confidence. The repairs were turned around quickly and since then there have been no issues with my Edge. It runs perfectly. I will definitely be a regular customer of A&E Automotive. Highly recommended.
