Domilyn Mitchell I found this place by accident while in the neighborhood visiting a friend and is now my #1 choice for anything nail related. They have everything you could possibly need - nail Dremel bits, great selection of dip powders/gel polishes and sculpted nails supplies. The sales woman that helped me was charming and extremely helpful. The location is in the middle of what some might consider a high-risk area, but hey its Oakland. Its not for everyone. For those of you willing to make the trip just remember to lick your car and make sure that nothings visible from the outside, or better yet??! Leave everything at home that you cant easily carry with you into the store. Simple as that.

Cee Rose Awesome place for industry basics. All the basic necessities as well as some fun extras. I came in for silk wraps and left with so much stuff hahaha. Especially love the nail polish 3 for a dollar for my nephew. The staff was super courteous and said all the calculations out loud. Very kind people. Always love shopping here. Watch out for the steep driveway. Low cars will scraaaaaape. :)

Tessa Scott Loved my mani here! They set themselves apart with the massages for both mania and pedis- mani massage is all the way up the arm and into neck and even back. My manis always last over a week and it’s pretty affordable. I’ve come in weekdays before 4 and had no wait at all. Recommend if you need a mani/pedi in this area!

StarBerry LaCreme I was only coming in for a lifted nail and I was totally ignored. I stood on the door for 5 mins before they decided to noticed me. Once I was finally acknowledged, I told they lady that I just needed a nail glued back down I would even purchase the glue so that no one is away too long from their client and she told me they dont do acrylic so we dont have any glue..I knew she was lying because I had gone in once before to inquire and I was told a completely different stories. Customer service is the worst if you dont look like them

Gary hayes Again this is Google lumping a place I parked near or drove by in my feed. My kids are grown there is no need for me to be there. I posted this December last year. The owner just replied that they could not control Googles algorithms. This tells me that this owner is serious about their business. They take pride in their skills and the skills of their employees. Knowing this changes my recommendation to 5 stars. So, Mom, Dad, aunt uncle, Brother, sister, random consumer on the street if you want your finger snap to pop head on over to finger paint. I am willing to bet you wont regret the choice.

rachel cassandra I don’t usually get my nails done. Came in with a photo of starry nails. The manicurist really took a lot of time to try to match the photo perfectly, going through many bottles of polish to find the right gold color. (None of them quite worked, so we decided the white was better). So sweet and she really was an artist. I wanted a flat finish, so she used a flat top coat. This was a gel polish job. She charged me $40 which felt like a steal for the effort she put in.

Anna Stancu My gel nails always last 6+ weeks here, the staff is so wonderfully kind and detail-oriented, the color selection is wide, and the pricing is reasonable. Anytime I go to another salon because I’m out of town I am reminded why this place is the only one I should ever go to! They give you a shoulder and neck massage with the manicure, and a leg massage with the pedicure. The salon is are clean and the staff are thorough, I’ve gone dozens of times over 3 years and never been disappointed by my experience or the quality of my nails.

I had my nails done by Wendy, Sarah, Tony, Annie, Son, Karen, and Van, and I can confidently say that the quality, attention to detail, and longevity of their work are consistent across the board. I always leave satisfied with the results. Previously, the salon provided shoulder massages, which I greatly enjoyed. However, they were recently informed that shoulder massages are no longer permitted in nail salons. While this is unfortunate, it does not diminish the overall experience. I typically schedule appointments, as do most patrons, and while there have been occasional wait times, I understand that quality work takes time. Having had my nails done for over 30 years, I know that delays are common in nail salons and are often a small price to pay for exceptional results. The staff is welcoming, and every client is greeted upon arrival. As is common in many salons, the technicians often communicate in their native language, which I have worked around by using Google Translate. This has allowed me to engage with them, particularly about Vietnamese cuisine, and build meaningful connections. Additionally, similar to many businesses, they prefer tips in cash due to credit card processing fees, which is understandable. If you are looking for high-quality nail services, I highly recommend giving Top Nails a try. If language barriers are a concern, I suggest using Google Translate to enhance communication. After searching for a reliable nail salon in Oakland, I am thrilled to have found this one. I visit every three weeks for a deluxe gel manicure and pedicure, and I always appreciate the relaxing spa music and calming atmosphere.

Obispo Liz (Lizbeth Obispo) They are amazing they took care of me and my mom immediately! They are sooo sweet we should them pictures of the nails we wanted and did exactly what we wanted! They were gentle and attentive!! And for the price it’s perfect ! We will definitely be coming back again!!! We love our nails!!!!

Lisa Biro Le Soleil is the best nail salon! I have been going here for about 10 years or so, with the last 5 years being very consistent as my only nail salon of choice. Not only do they do an incredible job on your nails, they have the best customer service. They are polite, efficient, thoughtful, and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable at their salon. One of the best parts about their service is their massages! They massage your shoulders and neck when you get a manicure along with the expected hands and arms as well. Their pedicures are also great, even the basic one will leave you feeling relaxed and pampered, but they do offer a deluxe version that includes additional massage time and a paraffin wax leaving your feet super soft. Every single person there does an excellent job. Mai, Yen, Bebe, Natalie, and Tina are who I normally see when I go in and each of them do such a good job on both the technical nail part as well as the massages! Today’s service I saw Bebe and she did a phenomenal job on my nails, taking extra care to make them perfect, as well as the best massage ever! The consistency in customer service that these ladies have is first class treatment. Love this place so much!

H. Young Ive been going to this salon for gel mani pedis for many years and the service is top notch. All of the staff are absolute angels and deserve your patronage and generous tips. Their manicures are thorough, long-lasting, and the massage they provide is out of this world and really sets them apart from other competitors. I also recently began getting my lashes tinted at Le Soleil, and have been satisfied with this service as well. My only complaint with Le Soleil (and to be fair, most other Oakland salons as well) is that they have limited color options as and seem to update their gel polish inventory very infrequently. I would love to have more options, especially including more glittery nail options. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this salon.

Byrma Mkh This is the second time I’ve had my nails done here, and I couldn’t be happier. The service is not only friendly but also very clean, and the staff are genuinely nice. During my first visit, I opted for a simple French tip, whereas this time I went for a more intricate design, and they executed it perfectly. I appreciated that throughout the process, the technician kept checking in to ensure I liked the French tip and the overall design. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent nail services.

Luana Pego Rhoten I have had great experiences here before but will not be coming back. The gentleman that did my gel mani + regular pedi 6 days ago kept skipping steps and I had to keep reminding him to please get my cuticles and remove lint from my nail before the polish, please file my nails etc. I have a wedding today and two of my finger nails have broken off and I have had to paint them with regular polish and look ridiculous, but am out of state and can do nothing else about it. Waste of $70. Do not recommend, and will not be coming back.

Darlene Brown-Price My daughter and I spent the day together for a mommy daughter day with massages. Everyone was very polite and welcoming the vibe was calm Leland was my masseuse! He was amazing I had sudden unexplained back pain which caused me to have to walk with a cane. Leland inquired and explained what his plan of care would be he was very careful calming and attentive. My body is naturally tight from the work I do every day. He was able to get to the knots and release associated toxins that come with massage. I left feeling better than I felt walking in. I would recommend them. My daughter’s masseuse was Lychi and she had equally great things to say about him!

The second time I came and a different lady repaired my nail, she cut me with the drill rushing and thats a big trigger for me. I told her the nail she replaced my nail with was a different style and she argued with me. When I showed my partner who doesnt do or care for nails they pointed out the difference. I went back today and sat with Mike who was nice but the work wasnt the best. I asked for chrome and when it was applied the top coat or whatever they were using was separating, instead he buffed the nails and applied more of the chrome and same top coat and it got thicker doing the same thing. I told him lets not do the chrome and he agreed it was the polish. I sat through more drilling off the polish which took more time.. I opted for a simple pink. The end result was just sloppy looking and blobby... I also noticed there was no apex to my nails, and the air bubbles were back - slight but still there shouldnt be bubbles in the polish. There was just oil put on my hands that had drill powder on them and left over nail polish still on my nails. I was exhausted and I knew he was too. I told the manager and she opted to do my nails for me again but I didnt have it in me to sit through round three of drilling. I asked for my money back and she obliged which i appreciated.. I am so disappointed because I thought this place was great but I am just tired of advocating for quality service.

Laurel truly cares about the nail condition and well-being of her clients, and will work to the best of her ability to make your crazy nail dreams come true. I’ve come to her with ideas and themes for my nails, and then we’ll come together to ricochet ideas back and forth. She’s open to ideas and willing to experiment. On top of it, she truly understands the concept of asymmetrical symmetrical nails, where every nail design is slightly different, but the overall theme is cohesive. But my nails are stronger than ever! A lot of people are surprised that my nails are my natural nails. Laurel’s precise and careful enough when removing old sets that my natural nails are never compromised. I know that I’m in good hands with Laurel and will continue to visit her for many years to come. Her dedication to her clients is out of this world. She truly is a gem of a nail artist in San Francisco and adds sparkle into the nail world.

Rose Owens Laurel is the absolutely best for many reasons, not the least of which is that she is a fabulously talented artist. Whatever concepts I come in with, she finds ways to make them even more enchanting and amazing- I always leave with beautiful nails that are beyond my wildest dreams. People literally stop me in the street to ask where Ive gotten my nails done. In addition, Laurel is kind and professional. She will guide you through the process of getting your art done, as well as explaining all of the different steps that she takes to keep your nails happy and healthy. Ive never felt anything but please and supported by my experiences with Laurel. On top of all of this, Laurel just received the title of SF Weeklys Best Nail Artist 2019. How can you top that?

Alexandria Watson Staff was really nice, but arrived/opened late. If I wasnt waiting for my friend I would have left but happened to be there when they arrived after 10am. We had an appointment (at 10am). My mani pedi was $50 plus tip, over priced and my nails didn’t set so they were destroyed with an hour after the appointment. My friend had 2 people working on her mani/pedi so she was done about 30 - 40 min before me. Although they had another staff person, she got on her phone and went to the back and my guy had to do my pedi and then nails. Will probably go to a different salon on the future. Photo is just a couple hours after the appointment.

Adelle Bender I went to this salon for the first time this week. I got dip nails which I had never gotten before and the nail technician dipped my fingers directly into the powder color. It wasnt until talking with a friend later that I learned that this is a really unsanitary process. Other than that my nails looked good and I was happy with them but only 2 days after getting them done, I had a large chunk missing from my thumb nail and the tips of my nails were starting to chip on multiple nails. Now I am 4 days out from getting them done and they look like I got them done 4 weeks ago! Not a good experience with dip at this salon.

Sheena W. I’ve been to this salon a few times and each visit I left with my needs and expectations met. I’ve only ever gotten manicure services here; I have not gotten any pedicures here but they do seem to have regulars that do. I almost always work with Naomi as she seems most confident around nail art. The other technicians have worked on me before for gel removal and nail prep before polish and nail art; they remove the gel nicely, and are gentle and meticulous with nail prep and shaping. I’m always happy with how my nails are shaped even though I only ever do round or almond. I’m only rating four stars for now because I’m not too sure about if/how they sanitize their tools between clients - but I have not had anything happen or gotten any nail infections whatsoever. My gel manicure will last me 2-3 weeks with my lifestyle I happen to choose the right time for a walk-in every time, but it is recommended you make an appointment. I only ask for what I think they can accommodate with where they’re at. They accept card and venmo but cash is always preferred for tip - remember to tip each tech if multiple techs work on you! Come in with an idea of what you want, pay attention and communicate with your tech

JJV The Storyteller I had not been here in a while and forgot about the excellent customer service and friendliness of the employees. I have been going to another salon where I am very friendly with all who work there and because I am loyal, would feel like Im cheating going somewhere else. But Im about to be a cheater (lol). They do an excellent job and much closer to home. I love the attention and patience they have with my elderly mother who is having memory challenges. To sum it up, these days it is difficult to find caring people even when paying for services; well, L&L Nail Cair provides A+ Customer Service at todays market prices.

Michael Hillord I wanted to give this place a try because it’s a block away from my home. I got a standard Mani+Pedi, the sign says $55 but I was quoted $60…not a big deal, I assumed the sign hasn’t been updated. They did a very thorough job with my cuticle care but the nail shape that I asked for was ignored. Each of my finger nails are a different shape. I thought the nail tech stepped away to get a buffing cream or clear polish, when she didn’t return I had to ask. I was surprised she was willing to leave my nails in an unfinished state. That’s when I realized that no one asked me if I wanted a color. The only time anyone talked to me is when I was asked what I did for a living. Once they finished aggressively buffing my nails, I was over the experience and I wanted out of there. I asked to pay, then I was told it would be $67. I inquired why, I was told it cost $67. I paid with tip and vowed never to step foot in that place again. I left feeling taken advantage of, they wanted to collect as much money as possible from me. I now know why this salon is always empty when I walk by. I hope this review helps the next unassuming person.

Frieda Pan Chris is a hairstylist who operates out of the salon, and he is INCREDIBLE. I’ve been going to him for years- he has been cutting hair for years, including for people in Beverly Hills. He gives fantastic cuts and somehow it’s under $50. Whenever I ask him to color my hair, I show him a photo, he glances at it, says “okay” and then somehow matches it perfectly. He’s seriously so talented, but since moving locations, business has been slower for him. Do not skip this hidden gem of a hair stylist!

2AM Show Love nails is actually a really dope salon. They’re clean, quick, and super welcoming. I usually have issues getting people to do designs on my long natural nails, they usually want me to get tips or gel extensions. This place was kind and stepped up to the plate with this evil eye design I had wanted for protection. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future

Bianca Kelly I called and asked how much a fill was she said $30. When I arrived, she said $40. The nail polish was old, she did 4 coats which never dried and the very next day two of my nails lifted. The photos below was from the very next morning after a fill and polish! Worst spent money and time ever. Plus there were bubbles in my nails after they dried and she didn’t do the top coat to the base of my nail bed so the polish looks extra BAD and chunky! Save your money and time!

ALINA I just came in for a simple gel manicure. What I wanted was all my nails black and one clear nail with a little black heart. The lady could not make the little black heart happen after many tries then we opted for a sticker, the sticker was of a dull color so of course the result was not as good. I was unhappy but I thought lesson learned. Now when I wanted to pay, they charge you 2 dollars for debit card transaction. The lady suggested that I paid via venmo. She took my phone and added herself after I couldnt find her through with her phone number. she had a very common name so she picked a profile and I paid. Then she tells me it didnt go through finally another client gives me her profile and of course it was wrong so now I had to request the money back and paid her again. She didnt even know the difference between zelle and venmo and I understand not everyone is tech savvy but she owns a business and she should know better. By this time I was frustrated and she was too so I would never come back here. I would only recommend for you to come here if you are not getting a design and if you can pay cash

Taylor Godfrey Went here for a few years. Unfortunately the owner is very very very rude though her daughter is nice and worked there at the time. Its a revolving door of techs and quality of service is unreliable / inconsistent.
