Big Baits Big Fish SM Beauty Studio is great! Took both of my daughters for haircuts. Samantha is patient, thoughtful and careful, she doesn’t whip through the haircut. She spent time in making sure the hair was styled to my daughters likings. No rush, great style. She also provided great recommendations on products for their hair. We will be returning for more!

Leane Hernandez I went to S.M. Beauty Studio for a hydrating facial. I have facial eczema and very sensitive skin. She was very helpful and informative about the products she was using. madnotmaddie I moved to Oxnard and needed to find a new place for nails. I almost hesitate to review this place because it is such a hidden jewel and I dont want it to become too crowded! Every time I call for an appointment, they get me in quickly with the person I specifically request. Anna is wonderful! She remembers details like how I first came in with my sister and that I like glitter polishes. She is fast and does an amazing job with my pedicures and acrylics.

Art jones Bought a gift certificate for my wife. They couldnt find the cert. and took a phone call before they would honor it. Nail polish was old and chunky. They didnt do nails and pedi at same time so that took a lot longer and tried to blame it on my wife. I will keep looking for a nail shop for her and my daughter. Unfortunate.

Rain Elizabeth The worst manicure of my life. The feel gaslit by the positive reviews. How this place has 4.6 star reviews is beyond me. I’m not from around her from LA. I’m not picky but the one thing you don’t do is leave nail polish on the skin. It’s all I’ve my hands and cuticles. If I had known it was going to be this bad I would have done it myself. I can do a better job!! The only reason I didn’t was because I had to evacuate from the palisades fires and the only thing I wanted to feel normal was some mice nails. Jacqueline Gomez Thy was great! I came in with a set from a different salon that I wasn’t very happy with. I showed him what about them I didn’t like and showed him what I wanted done this time. He explained a lot of what works best for my nail shape and couldn’t be happier. He was gentle with removing my old set and kept making sure I was comfortable throughout the visit. The attention to detail he does with his work was incredible. I felt the previous place I had gone to did them so fast and didn’t really want to do them to begin with but I really felt in much better care here. Thank you Thy!

Rachell Visit was fine the tech was also a nice person . I ended up paying $100 (including tip ) which I Understand how every artist has their set price however the bow fell off and it hasn’t been a full hour since I had them on. ( left hand has bow how it’s supposed to but right is the one that fell off). These are also were supposed to be my graduation nails and the reception lady was rude she didn’t even want to give me a simple receipt

gloria sarcinelli I went to this place yesterday and honestly I’ve never had such a bad experience in a nail salon. First they cut my cuticle and it didn’t stop bleeding for half an hour. They put some medicine and it made my skin dark. Bur even without the cut my manicure is just horrible. Every time I look at my nails I get angrier. The least they should do was not charging for hurting me. And gor such but manicure.

I found this nail salon when I was searching for a place with availability after 6pm. I had gone to the same place for 3 1/2 years but the commute to my new job is longer and I can’t get home by 5:40. They took me as a walk in, no appointment, at 6:30pm (unheard of and amazing!) Nancy gave me the best pedicure I’ve had in 10 years, no exaggeration! NT did my fill with a perfect ombré. Beyond impressed with the place and truly enjoyed my after work experience. I will 100% be returning and recommend them without hesitation. A total gem in Oxnard on the cusp of Port Hueneme.

Clarissa Roque I don’t recommend coming here the worker was filing my nails like if she was in a rush and split my skin open because of it and almost did the same to another fingers and she left my nails all bumpy and I asked for a natural color and instead she did ombré like if you’re in a rush don’t do them she could’ve told me to just go the next day instead of putting me thru hell. Spray Taint They did not use sterilized tools, most salons practice safe hygiene but they reuse tools without sterilizing them. I have never gotten cut at a nail salon before until today. The lady working on my nails might have been in a hurry, but she made me bleed and my fingernails are in pain. Also, the nail polish peeled off 2 hours after she was done. Her application technique was sloppy and terrible. I will not be returning. You get what you pay for!!

kylie ritter Tyler was absolutely amazing! His hospitality was top tier, and the facility was perfectly clean and nicely decorated. My mom, friends and I were warmly welcomed. Tyler offered us water and made great conversation. I got dip with tip, and it looks great! 10/10 experience, with cheap prices for great nails! Will definitely be coming back!!

I dont know if its just a theme, a trend, or a pattern with a lot of the nail salons, they collect your money they do the basis of what theyre there to do, but they leave out one very most valuable important aspect. And that is treating your customers with great customer service. Greeting them with a smile. Maybe even saying hello, how is your day. I think my rep says her name was jelena, her name did start with a j, so I might not have it totally correct. She has long black hair, round face, wears glasses. You know she could be a lovely lady except she sat there and worked on my feet with such a "scary sour puss face and Frown the entire Time. Definitely not very inviting. At no point did she even attempt to strike up any kind of conversation. No matter how much I attempted to strike up a conversation. Like asking how was your day, how are you, they all Resulted in silence. She did a gel polish color. I dont have my glasses on, and it doesnt quite look as smooth as the one I got at another location. I paid $35 for these gel nail polish spa pedicure. Its not the money though. Its really the attitude and the type of service received. She didnt even say thank you for coming: thank you for sitting in my chair, thank you for investing your money in our business - there was no thank you. The lady sitting at the front, I think she has said her name was Brenda, she did say "have a good night." Ill give him that. I wont be coming back. I am in search of a nice nail salon where they have great customer service and they can create a nice friendly conversation when you talk to them. And they provide service with a smile. Matter fact the nail salon was virtually empty. it was only me and another lady there. I wonder why ??? MAYBE it has something to do with their customer service. Conclusion, sadly poor customer service, no friendly attitude and no thank you for doing business with them. Ladies & gents be ware.

She always goes out and beyond to squeeze me in the schedule and takes her time to make sure she gets all my crazy designs perfect. I come to relax at the bail salon nit to have a full blown conversation lol. Imagine if everyone was conversation it would not be a relaxing time. Sarah Ashby Unkind and unprofessional. I had been coming here for a year. Services are slow as they do not have multiple technicians working to do mani and pedicure at the same time. Which was fine until I was yelled at by a technician for requesting the traditional sanding down and acetone foil wrapped nails removal technique for gels. The technician insisted on soaking my hands in bowls of acetone. This is unhealthy. Anyway the degree of drama this technician created was ridiculous- standing up and yelling I’m not doing your nails if that’s how you want your gels removed. No other technician stepped in or apologized. Really unnecessary to be so rude and angry with a customer. Created a hostile atmosphere for all customers.

YOUNG JUNG Paul is the best nail technician you can find in the area. 3 weeks! no chip. The shop offers trendy manicure colors and is clean. Definitely recommend.

I got a warm rice bag to soothe my neck, leg scrub, hot stone leg massage, paraffin dip for feet, leg massage with moisturizer. Tony spent a good amount of time on the service, not rushed. Maiah Lopez Do not go to this salon! Left with a cut & throbbing big toe. Paid $59 for a regular gel pedicure. Definitely not worth it. The bleeding wasn’t stopping after she sprayed alcohol on it and put a cotton ball on it so she decided to put some mystery drops on there and then packed it with mystery powder. She did not say a word to me.. she was just on FaceTime with someone the whole time.

Shari Rosenman I thought I shared my review a few days ago, but it didn’t come through. My daughter and I both had the most painful pedicures of our lives just about 1 week ago. We both had bloody big toes as a result of having our ingrown toenails removed. I asked Yiemy to stop because the pain was so bad I thought I would pass out. She said you can’t stop in the middle. Then, at the end, a new customer arrived and Yiemy left to service her. She didn’t say thank you or I’m sorry or anything. I could see that the big toe was only half painted, probably due to the drying blood. So I asked Yiemy to fix it and she had someone else do it. On the way out, my daughter begged me to never bring her back to that place. When I got home, I noticed that my other toes weren’t fully painted either. I posted the photographic documentation. Yiemy’s solicitous response below makes no sense. She knew exactly what was happening at the time. She and her coworker both heard us crying out with pain and they both had to treat the bloody toes a couple of times with special medicine. I don’t know how they have so many good reviews here. It’s been 6 days and my big toe is still in pain. It’s probably infected. There’s no chance in hell we’ll be back.

LA Core Dirty, depressing nail salon. They do not clean or sterilize their instruments. The poor guy could not even see my cuticles he kept saying I have too much cuticle and like duh that’s why I came. The manicure is terrible. He kept saying he was doing his best. He has tremors so he was shaky and the polish is completely uneven totally dissatisfied and yet he still charged me. Do not go here unless you’re totally desperate and don’t care what your nails look like.

Emily Bouvet This was the worst nail experience Ive ever had. I walked in hopeful because Ive never gotten acrylics, Im from out of town visiting my cousin. For me, I wanted a simple heart design against black nails. I got minimal nail prep, just a little trim on two of my nails. Then, the artist was a little aggressive with the roller, and got my skin a bit but thats alright I know things happen. Next, the artist tried to put a heart sticker on my nail and take it off to make the design, but he cured it on so it wouldnt come off. It then took 2 additional artists to try this heart design and they could not get it, they also kept trying to flip the heart angle! Finally they ask me to change my mind. Annoying, but its okay. I agree to a pink heart sticker over black, the artist tried to put it on plain nail no polish, I had to ask 3 times for black polish under!! My nails came out okay, thicker than I wouldve liked. My cousin on the other hand had a terrible experience all around. Her nails werent even trimmed! Her star design is sloppy and not what she wanted. 131 for both of our nail designs is terribly unfair, we were not happy with our service and we went back to ask for a partial refund and they refused saying to come back. WERE NOT COMING BACK HELLO?? save yourself the headache, dont come here

sunday bouvet wasn’t able to do my original design so i changed it and it was still poorly executed. simple stats look like messy blobs with no clean and clear lines tried to get a refund as me and my cousin were not satisfied with our service and we were turned away

jennifer patino I never personally enjoy writing reviews about places because I would just rather not go again after a bad experience… however , I want to just warn people . I went in for a regular pedicure and everything was going well. The guy was filing my toe nail and it BURNED but I didn’t speak up because he was going fast so I didnt think to do it … however , after awhile I felt tingly in my toe area … below my toe … like near my bone … it looked like I got bit from something and it was TINGLY. I told him and the girls “ I think I’m having a reaction” … they ultimately blamed me and said they didn’t do anything and how I hit my foot before coming in… basically minimizing me and saying I was wrong and it was my fault and that they didn’t do anything.i was polite and respectful, however the owner made me feel uncomfortable and SHOCKED that she told me it was my fault … mind you I’ve been going there for awhile. Anyways- I just wanna warn people that if something happens where a woopsie, or they accidentally do something to you (maybe a scrape/cut/etc) they will blame you . they don’t take accountability. I still wanted my toes down but they kicked me out…. My toe btw went down . They told me I did it to myself and I hurt my foot before coming in. WRONG. My swelling went away after I stopped the pedicure . I can’t believe I’m having to write this . I just don’t want someone to experience something then be told “ it was your fault , not ours.” Be careful unfortunately.

brittany ventura Was so happy when they first opened . They did a great job and were reasonably priced. But after four times this just got worse each time. This last time my nails lifted , split , lumpy with no shape . The salon is dirty and cluttered now . There are two techs that seems so annoyed that you are there and they have to get off the phone or get up from the massage chair it like a game of not it when you walk inside . My pedicure was so painful and she cut in toes to jagged they hurt for days and I had to file them so I didn’t get an ingrown. I have them tow stars for the selection of colors available and for the young tech who was nervous but nice and could tell she was trying despite not knowing how to do everything .

Denise Lucero I been to this place 3rds now. Let me start off by saying it’s clean & smells good! My first visit was when they had just opened. The nails were decent & affordable, couldn’t complain. Quality was great they did not lift &had about a 5 week retention. My next visit did not go so well, my nails were thick and so ugly. I had to go to another nail place the very next day to get them fixed. Again I came back for a pedicure (wanted to give them another chance) we’ll NEVER AGAIN. The water was freezing cold, no bath salts was added to water either. The lady was so rough on my toes I wanted to get up and leave. Only thing that was done was remove my previous gel, cut my nails nothing else. The whole process was painful even the leg massage. Even after I told her it was hurting she continued. I had to pass on the gel color , I just wanted to leave .I was also irritated by the worker who was on the phone the whole time, hearing her gossip was annoying. It was dead silent with no music so only thing my ears can focus was on her. I will definitely not go back. Worst pedicure I’ve ever gotten in the 17 years of getting them

Nelson Villarreal Unfortunately Im so sad and unhappy with my gel manicures. I think the manicurist name was Kenny or Kony. They did a bad job where the corners of the nails are left unpainted. They look like when nails have grown a week and you already start showing the new nail. I wasnt going to say anything at first because I thought she was doing a big coat at end. So when she was done I said something and showed her the corners. She said she couldnt paint so close to the skin ? And that the bio gel they couldnt get all over nail? I was so confused so I upgraded to bio gel for worst ? I even showed another customer and she agreed. I never complain but it got me upset how they were so careless with how I feel.

I have found him again after all these years!!!! I had others do my nails after he left the previous salon but nobody could get my nails right are done perfect. He can thats for sure!!!! The pictures that I am posting are about 2 and 1/2 weeks old, so this is not a new set. These have been worn for a while and actually they still look great ! Time to go see David!!!!

Lucky S Ive been coming here for approx. 4 or 5 months. The shape n lengths are always the same and never leave with crooked or miss shaped acrylics. I love Alex and the work she does, also fill price is 40 bucks. I hate when my nails break after a few days because of the type of work I do, but havent had a broken one since coming here.

Nicole B Very unhappy with this place. Read reviews that said Brian was amazing so I decided to go ahead and book with him. I had high expectations based off what I had read. He was very nice and attentive but didnt fill the acrylic to my cuticle and didnt polish my sides fully. I went back the next day to speak with the owner/manager, Lana (?) and was told she wasnt there. Lilly at the front desk was very rude, but said she would leave a note for Lana to call me. I didnt want my nails fixed, I wanted a refund and for the manager to be aware. Lana never called me, and I will not be returning. Sad because I really wanted to like this place. Danyell Ellis Not my usual salon for a reason. My nail tech here didn’t ask me about the length or shape I wanted on my acrylic fills, just started going to town filing and getting the work done. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law is right next to me getting an entirely different experience. More communication but…Her nail tech couldn’t even do a stiletto shape so we had to wait for my tech to be done to finish her set. Yikes. Ultimately, my two hands were two different lengths, nails were not a uniform shape, bumpy on the surface and not the quality I expected for the price, but hey, at least the polish was okay. I still tipped because I’m not a monster, but I won’t be back.

Christi McKeen Visiting from out of town and they were able to get me in with little notice! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. No frills-aka they don’t offer water so don’t expect it. Prices were reasonable and nobody pushed upgrades on me, I got what I asked for. Not even once did someone ask if I wanted gel polish for my pedicure, and that’s appreciated!

Leslie Mendez I usually dont frequent nail salons and opt-in to do my own nails and cuticles. I visited this place because I was walking by last night around 630pm. I walked in and asked the front desk girl how much they would charge to just clean up my cuticles. She looked at the prices and said $5. The lady who assisted me did just an okay job with my cuticles, I could have actually done a better job myself. she filed my nails in a semi almond shape, and ended up breaking one of my nails.She provided a quick massage on my hands and then hands me a ticket for $23 to pay at the front . Thats not what I was quoted. I left upset and baffled at the price difference from the $5 I was quoted initially .I will never visit this salon and I recommend that you dont spend so much money this nail salon and learn to take care of your own nails.

Cheyenne Walker This place has really gone downhill over the last 6 months. I have been a pretty consistent regular for over a year and a half getting a manicure and a pedicure every 4 weeks. But they recently lost a lot of of their good technicians, rarely answer the phone or the text message line when trying to schedule an appointment and the friendly customer service is no longer there.
