The second time I came and a different lady repaired my nail, she cut me with the drill rushing and thats a big trigger for me. I told her the nail she replaced my nail with was a different style and she argued with me. When I showed my partner who doesnt do or care for nails they pointed out the difference. I went back today and sat with Mike who was nice but the work wasnt the best. I asked for chrome and when it was applied the top coat or whatever they were using was separating, instead he buffed the nails and applied more of the chrome and same top coat and it got thicker doing the same thing. I told him lets not do the chrome and he agreed it was the polish. I sat through more drilling off the polish which took more time.. I opted for a simple pink. The end result was just sloppy looking and blobby... I also noticed there was no apex to my nails, and the air bubbles were back - slight but still there shouldnt be bubbles in the polish. There was just oil put on my hands that had drill powder on them and left over nail polish still on my nails. I was exhausted and I knew he was too. I told the manager and she opted to do my nails for me again but I didnt have it in me to sit through round three of drilling. I asked for my money back and she obliged which i appreciated.. I am so disappointed because I thought this place was great but I am just tired of advocating for quality service.

Dyna E I love the people there. They’re happier than other places but every time I go my nails are so think they don’t look natural. So I go home and fix them. Not worth it if you like your nails to look natural and gorgeous

Laurel truly cares about the nail condition and well-being of her clients, and will work to the best of her ability to make your crazy nail dreams come true. I’ve come to her with ideas and themes for my nails, and then we’ll come together to ricochet ideas back and forth. She’s open to ideas and willing to experiment. On top of it, she truly understands the concept of asymmetrical symmetrical nails, where every nail design is slightly different, but the overall theme is cohesive. The last time I saw this amount of craftsmanship was when I used to live in Japan. (She’s just that good!!) *Also - she has THE BEST arsenal of glitter, nail stickers, and embellishes. I’ve yet to see another nail artist with a nail supply this impressive. A lot of people are worried that gel over natural nails will over time weaken the nail’s natural enamel. But my nails are stronger than ever! A lot of people are surprised that my nails are my natural nails. Laurel’s precise and careful enough when removing old sets that my natural nails are never compromised. I know that I’m in good hands with Laurel and will continue to visit her for many years to come. Her dedication to her clients is out of this world. She truly is a gem of a nail artist in San Francisco and adds sparkle into the nail world.

Rose Owens Laurel is the absolutely best for many reasons, not the least of which is that she is a fabulously talented artist. Whatever concepts I come in with, she finds ways to make them even more enchanting and amazing- I always leave with beautiful nails that are beyond my wildest dreams. People literally stop me in the street to ask where Ive gotten my nails done. In addition, Laurel is kind and professional. She will guide you through the process of getting your art done, as well as explaining all of the different steps that she takes to keep your nails happy and healthy. Ive never felt anything but please and supported by my experiences with Laurel. On top of all of this, Laurel just received the title of SF Weeklys Best Nail Artist 2019. How can you top that?

Lola S Ive gone to Laurel a few times now and I always leave really happy! She is thorough, patient, and really creative. My nails have stayed healthy through various gel manicures and the art always gets lots of compliments~ Id recommend her to anyone interested in nail art or gel manicures.

Alexandria Watson Staff was really nice, but arrived/opened late. If I wasnt waiting for my friend I would have left but happened to be there when they arrived after 10am. We had an appointment (at 10am). My mani pedi was $50 plus tip, over priced and my nails didn’t set so they were destroyed with an hour after the appointment. My friend had 2 people working on her mani/pedi so she was done about 30 - 40 min before me. Although they had another staff person, she got on her phone and went to the back and my guy had to do my pedi and then nails. Will probably go to a different salon on the future. Adelle Bender I went to this salon for the first time this week. I got dip nails which I had never gotten before and the nail technician dipped my fingers directly into the powder color. It wasnt until talking with a friend later that I learned that this is a really unsanitary process. Other than that my nails looked good and I was happy with them but only 2 days after getting them done, I had a large chunk missing from my thumb nail and the tips of my nails were starting to chip on multiple nails. Now I am 4 days out from getting them done and they look like I got them done 4 weeks ago! Not a good experience with dip at this salon.

Sheena W. I’ve been to this salon a few times and each visit I left with my needs and expectations met. I’ve only ever gotten manicure services here; I have not gotten any pedicures here but they do seem to have regulars that do. I almost always work with Naomi as she seems most confident around nail art. The other technicians have worked on me before for gel removal and nail prep before polish and nail art; they remove the gel nicely, and are gentle and meticulous with nail prep and shaping. I’m always happy with how my nails are shaped even though I only ever do round or almond. I’m only rating four stars for now because I’m not too sure about if/how they sanitize their tools between clients - but I have not had anything happen or gotten any nail infections whatsoever. My gel manicure will last me 2-3 weeks with my lifestyle I happen to choose the right time for a walk-in every time, but it is recommended you make an appointment. I only ask for what I think they can accommodate with where they’re at. They accept card and venmo but cash is always preferred for tip - remember to tip each tech if multiple techs work on you! Come in with an idea of what you want, pay attention and communicate with your tech

JJV The Storyteller I had not been here in a while and forgot about the excellent customer service and friendliness of the employees. I have been going to another salon where I am very friendly with all who work there and because I am loyal, would feel like Im cheating going somewhere else. But Im about to be a cheater (lol). They do an excellent job and much closer to home. I love the attention and patience they have with my elderly mother who is having memory challenges. To sum it up, these days it is difficult to find caring people even when paying for services; well, L&L Nail Cair provides A+ Customer Service at todays market prices.

Michael Hillord I wanted to give this place a try because it’s a block away from my home. I got a standard Mani+Pedi, the sign says $55 but I was quoted $60…not a big deal, I assumed the sign hasn’t been updated. They did a very thorough job with my cuticle care but the nail shape that I asked for was ignored. Each of my finger nails are a different shape. I thought the nail tech stepped away to get a buffing cream or clear polish, when she didn’t return I had to ask. I was surprised she was willing to leave my nails in an unfinished state. That’s when I realized that no one asked me if I wanted a color. The only time anyone talked to me is when I was asked what I did for a living. Once they finished aggressively buffing my nails, I was over the experience and I wanted out of there. I asked to pay, then I was told it would be $67. I inquired why, I was told it cost $67. I paid with tip and vowed never to step foot in that place again. I left feeling taken advantage of, they wanted to collect as much money as possible from me. I now know why this salon is always empty when I walk by. I hope this review helps the next unassuming person.

Frieda Pan Chris is a hairstylist who operates out of the salon, and he is INCREDIBLE. I’ve been going to him for years- he has been cutting hair for years, including for people in Beverly Hills. He gives fantastic cuts and somehow it’s under $50. Whenever I ask him to color my hair, I show him a photo, he glances at it, says “okay” and then somehow matches it perfectly. He’s seriously so talented, but since moving locations, business has been slower for him. Do not skip this hidden gem of a hair stylist!

2AM Show Love nails is actually a really dope salon. They’re clean, quick, and super welcoming. I usually have issues getting people to do designs on my long natural nails, they usually want me to get tips or gel extensions. This place was kind and stepped up to the plate with this evil eye design I had wanted for protection. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future

Goldie Pennywell Great nail shop come to get your nails done and you’re gone. The only thing I didn’t like about it was when they are talking and their native language and laughing at people. Bianca Kelly I called and asked how much a fill was she said $30. When I arrived, she said $40. The nail polish was old, she did 4 coats which never dried and the very next day two of my nails lifted. The photos below was from the very next morning after a fill and polish! Worst spent money and time ever. Plus there were bubbles in my nails after they dried and she didn’t do the top coat to the base of my nail bed so the polish looks extra BAD and chunky! Save your money and time!

ALINA I just came in for a simple gel manicure. What I wanted was all my nails black and one clear nail with a little black heart. The lady could not make the little black heart happen after many tries then we opted for a sticker, the sticker was of a dull color so of course the result was not as good. I was unhappy but I thought lesson learned. Now when I wanted to pay, they charge you 2 dollars for debit card transaction. The lady suggested that I paid via venmo. She took my phone and added herself after I couldnt find her through with her phone number. she had a very common name so she picked a profile and I paid. Then she tells me it didnt go through finally another client gives me her profile and of course it was wrong so now I had to request the money back and paid her again. She didnt even know the difference between zelle and venmo and I understand not everyone is tech savvy but she owns a business and she should know better. By this time I was frustrated and she was too so I would never come back here. I would only recommend for you to come here if you are not getting a design and if you can pay cash

Shaniah Ritzie I love this nail salon! It’s local to where I live, and I can walk to their shop. I come here to get my nails and feet done, and I especially love the sea salt and sugar scrubs. I am simple, so I only get clear coat gel on my toes and hands. My wife often struggles with painful ingrown toenails, and this is the only place that takes the time to properly care for her nails. Kim and Mei Mei are amazing, and all the nail stylists are professional and courteous. Occasionally, the card reader is down, but you can still pay with Zelle or cash. Support local businesses like this one so they can continue to thrive in our community!

Devon Lindsey I have been seeing Vanessa for ten months, and as long as shell have me Ill never see anyone else. Six months ago, when I moved from Oakland to SF, I still didnt stop traveling to OAK to see her. Everything Ive asked her for, from "classy funeral" to "goth" to "lisa frank" to "david bowie" shes delivered. Im hard on my nails too. I wash dishes, I type *a lot*, I take (at least) daily baths in shea butter, I travel and I never wear gloves, but none the less, my nails stay looking dope. The couple of times Ive had problems, Vanessa coached me through an at home repair and worked on ways she could improve for next time given my unique lifestyle. This last part might sound trite, but Im really grateful that I started seeing Vanessa. When I look down at my nails and the beautiful custom artwork on them, I feel joy and I need that in my life.

Emily E Vanessa is an amazing nail artist. Whatever you need, whether it is stamping or custom design she can do it. Her space is also really amazing, good tunes and vibes in the studio. Ive been coming to see her for months now and she always delivers better than expected. Her work is very high quality, my gels and manicures last for weeks even with the tough abuse I put my fingers and hands through daily.

andrew henderson $160+ spent on 2 pedicures and 1 manicure and my feet still look crusty. Mediocre services with a fancier looking salon. I thought because of the area it would be of a higher quality. They also upped the prices on us when we went to pay. Our services we re supposted to be $130 but they charged us $140 when we went to pay. After telling them they overcharged us the salon employees went back and fourth on the price amongst themselves but at the end they still charged us the same price. I didnt feel like arguing so I just paid and left. Will not be returning, my feet still look ashy when they usually look way better paying less at other salons for the same service. Manicure for male was so-so, my cuticles still have hangnails and nails are uneven.

amber sutton I uh advan appointment for 2pm, I called and let them know I was running late due to car troubles and was trying to make it there for 2:30. When I finally did get there it was about 2:45pm hours hen I walked in the salon was completely empty so I figured at least I didnt hold anyone up. Then one of the nail techs said that they couldnt see me cause I was late, even though I had called and let them know I was going to be. And they refused to see me period like they were fully booked. But like I said the salon was completely empty and when I walked out I couldnt leave cause my car was overheating anyways so I had to wait , there were no other appointments or customers in the salon for the next almost 30 minutes after I was turned away. Which I could understand if they had other appointments scheduled but they didnt. And Ive been trying to come here to have this acrylic set done for over a week and was planning to drop about 200+ on both mani and Pedi. But sitting around doing nothing is more important than making money or running a good salon. But after looking at some other reviews and reading about the continuous bad service and unsanitary conditions of their utensils they use on people and seeing pictures of peoples toe nails infected with fungus after coming here, Im going to take it as a blessing in disguise and the universes way of saving me from a disaster of an experience or an unwanted ailness in the future. To those who test the waters may more than luck be on your side, and I hope your experience is better than mine

Kaniesha Woodard I have been to Sassy Nails twice. The first two times were good. I am just leaving my third visit. I came in wanting baby pink nails. (Manicure, no gel, just polish) The nail tech painted my nails, I requested for some touch ups, then was time for my nails to dry. After waiting 25 minutes, I saw that a few of my nails were sticky and wouldnt fully dry. The nail tech came back over to touch them up. She removed the polish of three nails and re-did them. While doing so, she messed up one of those nails and had to go back in again to repaint. (She was visibly frustrated.) After that, I let my nails dry again. Looking at them I was unhappy anddadd they were still sticky and would not dry. I told the male nail tech i didnt like them and I just wanted a clear coat. He told her to come back and do just that. While checking out he said, "next time pick a different color. The color you picked was too thick." I said, "she shouldve told me that." And he said "yeah." I came in at 2:22pm and left at 4:13pm with a clear coat. I wasnt offered a discount or anything either. I paid $25, which I dont mind doing so if what I came for originally was a clear coat. Unfortunately, I will not be returning based off how this experience was handled. Picture speaks for itself. I recommend it a costumer picks a polish color that is "too thick" or wont apply correctly, you let them know at the start of the service. (Not an hour and a half later.)

Jaradie Chhun This is a decently priced nail salon, coming from someone who usually gets a plain gel manicure and pedicure. I stopped by here to try out a new salon. I found that this salon had a more peaceful vibe, and the massage chairs were better than most of the nail salons Ive been to (they have more functions). Nail color selection is less than others, which makes picking a color less of a stressful situation. I didnt feel rushed while in this salon. Most people would understand that feeling, and I didnt feel this here. I saw signage that this salon was also part of environmental health research!

Abbey Hanson I am so upset right now. Because of the terrible rain we have been having I have been wearing boots and tennis shoes like every other female out here. So I finally decided to get my feet done for my besties Birthday. I am use to the person doing my nails or feet to ask me if I want my nails cut short or if my toe nails are to short when I go to the shop they will just file my nails to shape them instead of cutting them even shorter. But Linn not only cut my nails too the point of damn near gone, but she also cut my large toe so terribly to the point where I Pray that my toe doesn’t get infected. I had to come straight home and doctor on my foot and the rest of my toe nails look like little dots because she cut them below the skin. I am furious and the 1 star was only so that I could leave this TERRIBLE REVIEW.

Irene Walker This was my second visit, and once again, I called for a last-minute appointment on a Sunday morning and they were able to fit me in—huge plus! Lisa did my pedicure and Tammy did my manicure, and both were fantastic. I always get regular mani/pedis, and their precision in cleaning, cutting, shaping and painting nails is truly top of the line. Plus, their salon is incredibly clean and aesthetically pleasing; so cute and well designed!! You’re always in good hands here. Highly recommend this salon! Definitely my go to spot for nails!

AS smooth I got my feet done. Tammy did a very good job. I have an ingrown toenail and she made sure it didnt hurt. I would definitely go back to get my feet done. Im going to try my nails too see how they do.

Nhi is the absolute best, but I’ve really liked everyone I’ve met here so far. I’ve only done dip nails, and they’ve lasted anywhere from 1-4 weeks. I’m hard on my nails. I now know to ask for an extra layer so they last longer.

Lindsay B Got a pretty bad manicure here the other day. The whole thing took less than 15 minutes and she only covered about half my nail with nail polish. Didn’t push back and trim cuticles. The Manager (?) Was lovely and made it right quickly. Hard to review a place with one experience, it may have just been my technician and the others are great.

Monica Floyd I went here on a whim while I was visiting my parents for the holidays. They were able to seat me right away, the shop is clean/peaceful, and they have a good color selection for gel polish. Initially I was satisfied with my gel manicure. I thought it could have been a bit smoother, but the finish was good, color was even, and it wasn’t too expensive. The photo I am sharing is from *1 month later.* I have traveled literally around the world, Ziplined, took a cooking class, played sports, and every single nail is still perfect. I’ve done some cutting on my own, which I’m sure helped, but I’ve never had a manicure last so long. For this alone, I would recommend this spot to anyone in the future! I’m sure I could have asked for another coat to make it smoother - and my only issue would have been remedied.

Kimberly Thomas Over 30 years, me in nails salons; two in particular to the point of Kim "the next generation" my daughter goes as well. Never have any of them EVER suggested I get GEL vs acrylic? I needed my nails done and had no time to go to my regular spot. Upon walk in, I was greeted. They were busy, but fit me in :-) Lisa, I believe did my nails and asked if I wanted Gel. I said acrylic because I work with and in alot of water. She said, because of this, Gel would be better and BOY was she right!! I LOVE IT! No chips, smears or fading and that pic is 3 weeks after I went in. Plus, the staff is down to earth and seems to really know their clientele. Been back twice and the last time a pedicure where she used lemon and warm stones on my tired feet. I ROCK Timberland work boots daily and those stones were a needed treat :-) Thanks for the Happy Feet :-)
