1 /5 Eryn Moore: I’m a brand new UCLA patient as my insurance changed (from Kaiser who were exceptional) and I scheduled an appointment early October and the first available was today, October 27th. As we all know with a new job, you don’t get sick time yet so I scheduled an 8am appointment. I show up and I was told it was cancelled. No call or email. I need to have an appointment ASAP for an upcoming international trip. Unprofessional and bad for new patients! I was eager to be part of the UCLA Health network as they are supposedly “number 1 in LA.” That statement seems laughable…

5 /5 Juan: Ive had an almost exclusively positive experience with UCLA Medical, particularly at this location. The quality of care, from professors in medicine to residents, has been exceptional. Each practitioner, regardless of their experience level, has demonstrated top-tier expertise and a willingness to listen and collaborate on my health concerns. It’s clear they have access to a vast network of knowledge through their peers and specialists. One minor hiccup was a slight personality mismatch with a doctor, but the ease of switching to another primary care provider (PCP) who has been fantastic reassured me of UCLA’s commitment to patient care. Even my least favorable experience here was significantly better than any healthcare I’ve received elsewhere, highlighting UCLA’s superior service and patient handling. Specifically, the attentiveness and tailored advice I received from my current PCP exemplify the high standard of care at UCLA. This was a stark contrast to my experiences outside of UCLA, where the approach often felt more generalized and less focused on individual patient needs.

1 /5 Bijan Khajebag: The building management system at 1245 16th Street is a disaster for the neighborhood. It has been so ever since the building was constructed. This gives UCLA a bad name as a medical building business. Here are some issues with the management of the building: 1. The management is disrespecting the law and rules of the city by allowing people to park at the entrance from the alley. There is a sign that says "No Parking." The building has over 200 underground parking spots, but none is assigned for delivery or any kind of medical necessity. 2. According to the law, being a medical building, the ambulances need to access a parking as close as possible to the medical buildings entrance. It is unclear if the management or the only one that manages the building is familiar with the law or respects every aspect of the city rules. 3. Construction workers are disturbing the entire neighborhood by making noise outside the legal work hours. The law mentions that the legal time starting of any work is 8:00 am. However, the construction workers are provided access to enter the building by the "manager" starting as early as 5:00 am waking people up. 4. The building management is allowing front of the alley building for trucks to parks, blocking the alley to be used by (possibly) friends or relatives while tenants in front of the building face problems entering and exiting their parking, meanwhile there is a sign saying, No Parking In Alley, which was taken down but after complaining to the city the sign was put up again. 5. The owner or whoever manages the property has been informed about the issues many times in the last few years. However, the owner or the manager has not addressed these issue by correcting any of them, as the date of this open letter sent to the City of Santa Monica Manager office and the owner or the manager of the building peopole still facing the very same problems.

1 /5 Kenneth Francis: I was sent a confirmation letter for a doctors appointment signed by Nancy R with the final sentence saying, “If this is inconvenient for you and would like to reschedule please call me Mon - Fri 8 - 5. I could not make the appointment and called the number given. The person who answered had no idea what I was talking about and finally put me through to Nancy R who first responds by saying,” What do you expect me to call the doctors office for you?” I said her letter said to call and was met with even further rudeness. I finally said, “I’m sorry to inconvenience you.”and hung up. After asking for the supervisor, she apologized and said Nancy should have given her direct line, but it doesn’t validate how this person acted and was shocked by me calling her when the letter tells me too. How nuts can you get. I’m currently looking to change health care providers cause there is obviously a problem with department communications or not understanding their job descriptions. Very dissatisfied.
