1 /5 Narae Ellie Ok: If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I went in on 1/24 to get vaccination titers. Couple weeks later, I get a bill that is quoting me to pay an outstanding balance of $203. I looked at the breakdown of my bill and the total was $266 - $240 JUST FOR NEW PATIENT ENROLLMENT and $26 for a tb test. What blows my mind here is that they charged me $240 just to request that I needed some vaccination titers. The NP that was helping me literally did not do anything except order me the bloodwork. I followed up with my insurance and the billing dept and they informed me that since this visit was NOT a wellness visit, I am responsible for the out patient visit fee. I asked if the billing would be different if I did the wellness exam including the vaccination titers and they said yes they would cover the bill in that case. Ok, 1) why didnt the medical team explain this to me during my visit? If I could save $200, I would totally go ahead and do the wellness exam because I havent gotten checked this year anyway. The NP did not ask anything about that or when my last annual was. 2) $200 may not be a lot of money to some, but it is to a fulltime student joggling life between school and work. The fact that I
m not even sick or needed any medical attention but have to pay this much money makes me angry. I just feel that Ive been cheated here and probably will never return to this office. As a professional in healthcare, I strongly believe that they are responsible for making the patient understand everything about their visit including billing during their visit.
