1 /5 Mimi Janice: Beware! If you make an appointment to see any doctor for a routine exam-they bill as a hospital visit, with a hospital facility charge to your insurance. For me, with Blue Cross PPO, I had to pay a percentage called a “coinsurance” instead of a copay. Not just that, but also it went to my deductible. This ended up being $387 instead of my usual $30 copay. I believe I should have been told about this when making the appointment and also when checking in. I called to dispute this, but they will not lower the bill.

1 /5 Michael Whittier: TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND UNNECESSARY FEES - AVOID!!! I went to Dr. Saadi for a physical a couple of months ago. She referred me to blood tests, then wanted to meet two weeks later to review the results. One of my blood tests had a false positive that required an additional doctor visit to clarify. I have a PPO that should have covered all but three $20 copays. Weeks after my visit I continue receiving more and more bills, to the amount of ~$550 in fees. Communication from UCI has been spotty at best, and they are unable to explain the additional fees other than "thats just how it works." This is a disappointment because Dr. Saadi herself seemed pretty nice, and UCI has a reputation of being one of the best healthcare networks in OC. However, in my experience they have been extremely unprofessional and aggressive in their bait-and-switch billing techniques, and I would suggest anyone looking for a new PCP to look elsewhere.

1 /5 Ellen DJ: I saw my Orthopedic surgeon sometime in August , I was scheduled to Laguna Hills initially, but had a phone if I can be seen at Gottschalk at a different time. I said okey because it is closer to where I live. I got a bill for 300 dollars that I had to pay since the billing department stated that is a considered an outpatient. hospital facility. I wrote an email, called the billing department she stated that she will email the administrator. I left a message to my ortho since I am not better, I was told I will get an answer in 2-3 days. I had a call today that he was on vacation so my message was not answered. I had to repeat my spill 3 times and they stated that they will look into it. I called the patient representative for complaints no one answered the phone. I was so tired after all these calls Ive gotten nowhere. The billing department billed my insurance company a humongous amount of money. theyre my chart portal is a joke. funny thing I am not any better.
