5 /5 coran beck: I get my hair done here by Cindy Franco - I love this salon - it is unpretentious with friendly and welcoming staff. Due to COVID restrictions for salons, they created a large patio out back in the parking lot that is fully shaded by a tent and surrounded by large potted plants - creating a lovely green hedge. (As of now appointments are back inside with all employees and clients wearing masks at all times)

1 /5 Diana: Candiss…every inch was a different length. This might’ve been due to the fact that she was literally yanking my head between every snip. I do have to say she did an awesome blowout most likely to disguise her hack job.

1 /5 Fatemeh Farahmandfar: This place is 1 out of 10. If I could Id rate a 0. She over booked and didnt communicate. I made an appointment with SHANNON who, in my opinion, is "THE WORST" person to go to. She is IRRESPONSIBLE, INEFFICIENT, UNPROFESSIONAL, and absolutely IGNORANT. Your time and values are her least interest. I might have had a different experience if I booked with another hair stylist. She made excuses to my face thinking I was clueless! Just to give you all a heads up that dont waste your time with SHANNON and make sure to read the reviews before heading on to book an appointment at this salon. Very disappointed!!

5 /5 KC SB: Ive been getting my hair cut with Maria Esparza since 2011!! Shes the best!! Her scalp, neck and shoulder massages cant be beat, and I always leave feeling like Ive gotten the best haircut in town! The atmosphere at The Oak + Violet Salon is calming. They use Aveda products so going there is instant aromatherapy. I highly recommend this salon and Maria Esparza!!

I have had a life time of fine hair issues and in need of someone, so I went to see her for a consult. I had been perming my hair for a few decades just to get some body and was over it. Lety told me that my hair had a natural wave and that the right cut would enhance it and that most likely I would find that I no longer needed a perm. I was intrigued and booked my first appt. Lety did not disappoint! I walked out of her salon with a wash and wear cut with the most adorable soft curls I never knew I had! I have been so incredibly happy with Lety and consider her a hair wizard.

He uses the product I requested which is ammonia- free Schwartzkopf, dyes my eyebrows, keeps my hair healthy with a trim each month and offers me tea with honey every time. :) Honestly, Urban Salon is the best beauty parlor in Santa Barbara and Alan, the owner, is an outstanding hair stylist. I feel lucky to have found him!

I was a little apprehensive about going for the budget option here just top keep my price point the same... and my fears seemed to have been realized. The stylist was nice, but my haircut right to left is uneven. Its not bad enough that Id go back in for a fix, but I wont be returning to this store.

Sarah Acuña: Makeup artist was very nice, but spent minimal time with the bride and the makeup did not translate well in pictures. The eyelashes that were applied showed glue. Not at all worth the price paid. She could have spent more time perfecting and actually blending in the eyeshadow.

Truth Opinions: Fabian is a great hairstylist. Very calm and relaxed like his shop Sequel. Sequel has a nice hidden plaza behind where two adjacent restaurant/bars are to enjoy while waiting. Highly recommend Fabian if you don’t know what to do with your hair and bring a photo. He’ll let you know pros/cons and what goes good with your face and body type. He will also go into detail about the hair product based on hair type and style.

Reda Rountree: There’s no one as good as Peggy! This is my favorite place to go for a haircut and color in Santa Barbara. The stylists are experienced, warm and friendly, and really know how to make you look your best. Love and miss Leslie so much, who was an incredible hairstylist and woman in general — her kind and comforting spirit lives on in Head West.
