We hit a pothole in Redwood Park which my run-flat, low profile tire did not like :-( Once we got to coverage, we started looking up tire shops nearby. We stopped at one down the street first, but they didnt have the tire that I needed. We stopped at Dans shop (Del Norte), He not only had what we needed, but went above and beyond to help us out. Not to mention, the owner, Dan the man (our hero) changed our tire for us so we were in and out lickety split! I highly recommend using this shop for all of your tire needs. They are honest, a family-run business, and Dan is truly a stand up guy. Without his help, we would have been stranded in Crescent City and missed the Oyster Festival that we had driven so many miles to attend. My friend and I cannot thank him enough!

I was back on the road the next day, and the price was incredibly reasonable! He even took the time to share his recommendations for local spots for our family vacation. 2 /5 Madge Casacca: Absolutely the first and last time I will go there. Had a 10:00am appointment for wheel alignment . They said it would take 1 1/2 hours. It took 3 1/2 hours! When I mentioned it to the old guy he said it was a scheduling error. Well scheduling errors causes you to lose business. Very unprofessional! I don’t recommend this place.

Johnathan Bagley: Wouldn’t make the time to help me with my truck during the wildfire that was near there town. Told me they were too busy to take 3 bolts out, found another shop that was just as busy but took 15 min to get the bolts out and me on my way to help with the fire. Wouldn’t recommend them if you have a simple job and a handful of cash they are too busy.

Since we were driving back to Los Angeles today (Monday), I called AAA to check the battery.... and it was diagnosed as problem with the alternator. I called Lake Tahoe Automotive, and they told me to bring the van in. They even ordered the alternator right away prior to my arrival to facilitate the repair. When I got to the shop, they finished the repair in less than an hour. They were so efficient and nice, very good customer service! And the price is paid for the repair was fair enough. Highly recommended!

Because my tire had recently been patched for a nail, I wanted to get it checked by professionals before continuing my road trip. I looked online and saw a good review for Five Star. When I arrived, the kind couple immediately said one of their mechanics could take a look. Bob, one of the most helpful people I have run into in awhile, checked all of my tires. Not only did he remedy the problem, but he shared valuable knowledge on how to deal with tires in general! I left with such gratitude to him and the whole staff for helping me feel safe to get back on my journey. They all felt like angels to me. I would recommend Five Star Automotive next time you’re in South Lake.

Julio Lombera: I went to Lake tahoe on business stayed 3 nights on our last day there. my check engine light came on.we went to OReilly to get a diagnostic check they said we should get the car checked out by a mechanic before heading home since we had a 7 and a half hour drive.we drove to 3 shops and they did not want to help us everyone said we needed and appointment. We went to norms as our last resort to see if they could help.we were giving up hope but thank God that the lady that was there and the mechanic helped us out and explained that I had nothing to worry about with the check engine light it would be ok to drive home. What I am trying to say is that if u are ever in lake tahoe and need an honest and trustworthy mechanic please dont wate your time going anywhere else go to norms they are amazing people.
