Adrian Pizano Jose is very professional and provides more detail than I could ever imagine. He went above and beyond to ensure my car was ready over the weekend so it would be ensured that I have transportation to work on Monday even though he had a few cars he was working on already. He always asked questions about what I was concerned about with my car, he never did or checked anything without my permission, and he made sure to update me in a timely manner. I just moved to Bakersfield about a month ago and it feels so good to find a mechanic I know I can go to and trust that will always have good intentions and the best interests. I now know who Ill be going to for mine and my wifes vehicles for as long as we can! Thank you, Jose. Erasmo Villarreal Had a hard time finding anyone to actually fix my car , well after 3 shops and still same problem i was told about Jays Auto Repair figured whats the worst that can happen desperate at this point, well im glad i did visit jays and wish i would have known about jose much sooner, he is to me personally the most knowledgable mechanic i have ever met , he explains everything to you inwasy you understand , and he is very fair with his prices . Craig Bailey I was very pleased with the person at the front desk. He listened to what I needed done and assured me the technician would follow up with my requests. Once I arrived to pick up the car the person at the front desk reviewed with me what was completed. I had my front end aligned and so far have been very pleased with the work. I will recommend them to my family members and friends!

Joe Watkins I took my 2022 Fiat 500 to them to investigate a cylinder 1 misfire code. They did a very thorough diagnostic and found that I had fixed the issue by replacing the plug and coil. Unfortunately the plug was of the wrong type and needed to be replaced. I played them to do the whole set. They found significant carbon buildup in the intake that I played to be removed. They replaced the air filter as well I received a detailed report of findings and actions taken. The only issue I had was that the plugs were billed just shy of $40 a piece. I find that excessive. Quite pleased with all else.

Anthony Serna Great mechanic and very fair price. Came in to get my water pump replaced. Very fast fix and the guy at the front desk was very welcoming. I recommend this place to anyone who needs work done.

Goat Strats Real honest work, they gave me a higher quote on the car then to call me and tell me a bad news and it could be a day but good news. It’s gonna be cheaper the most honest I’ve been to I would really recommend them. He got my AC cold. Took my car back on another vehicle. Highly recommend

Rugnao F. “iAmFAUST” I love Bob Handley and this is why! Below is my bad review for Sangera Subaru, but includes why I love Bob Handley and why I ONLY trust him with my vehicle. (BAD Sangera Subaru Review initially, then to why Bob Handley saved me and why I love the guy, as left on a review for that dealership) I brought in my car for an issue I had a little less than 3 years ago that they fixed. I didnt have a diagnostic tool then, and it was an oil control valve (code P000D Left Bank 2). Well, it is that same one now, and learned they (Sangera Subaru) wanted to charge me $405 for a damn diagnostic and while most dealerships warranty for 3 years or 35k miles, these guys only warranty 1 year according to their ASM I had seen. I said hell naw, and left. I aint ever coming back here again. Not even for an oil change, because I only take it there and discovered my center console was also damaged last time I was here, but I cant prove that since it was awhile. So if you are foolish enough to take it here for repairs or service, make sure you record everything prior so you have it on record it wasnt like that before, should you find an issue. I called Handleys and Bob told me exactly what happened with my car and offered to clear the code after I fix it, without pressuring me or trying to solicit his shop (it needed an oil change to diagnose). The oil change was a little more expensive than the dealerhsip, but better and here is why: My MPG went up (to a steady 16.5 vs when Sangera Subaru does it Iit drops to 10.3 within a few drives that same day) and car runs much better than ever taking it to Sangera Subaru. Plus he flashed it and no issues as he said my issue was causes by low oil or oil contaminates, even prior to bringing it in. He (Bob Handley) tried to direct me to a lube shop and I realized he does oil changes and called back to ask about it. He said they charge more and lube shops charge less, but his honesty earned my business and glad I did. $115 vs $405 + probably upwards of another $500 bs, because Sangera Subaru just changes your oil but claims they replaced the part. So I am done with this crooked dealership. Also change your oil every 3k miles, never listen to them or the internet. These EJ motors burn 1 qt of oil per 1k miles. Bobs oil is superior to that dreadful dealership and if I need anything, Handleys or All Automatic Transmission, will get my business, every time from now on.

Slonski Landscape Bob Handley and his team are a rare breed and some of the best mechanics you’ll find. They can meet almost any automotive need you may have. Bob himself is a very kind person and you won’t get lied to or get the run around at this shop. Just real answers and quality service by true professionals, not “parts changers.” I’ve spent quite a bit of time working on cars myself and find myself knowing more than most mechanics. Not at Handley’s. Bob has over 40 years of experience and gives us all the benefits of that wealth of knowledge. You won’t find a better shop in Bakersfield or almost anywhere, for that matter.

Belen Wells I cannot recommend this company enough: my service engine system message and engine light came on during an important road trip through the valley on a Friday at around 7pm. I contacted G.G and he serviced my car attentively, addressing any and every detail and saved me hundreds of dollars with his after hours work. He was transparent with every aspect of what he was doing. He communicated every issue and showed me each aspect of the labor they did. He was hospitable and personable. His company provides a plethora of mechanic services; contact this company for any service you need!

Anna Wells Edit because my initial review was before he was finished: he replaced the spark plugs and then said the engine was fried and the car was essentially totaled offering to rebuild the engine. We then replaced the coils ourselves and the engine was infact not fried. Car is completely fine. Amazing service! Honest, transparent, quality work. Life saver when we broke down coming off of the grapevine at night. We were in and out quickly with everything we needed. I can not recommend them enough. Everyone we worked with was extremely kind and professional. Can not say enough good things. If you need an honest and quality mechanic definitely go to GG. I never write reviews but this place deserves all of the praise they can get!

Jennifer Morgan Your right, I am NOT a customer because of the way I was treated on the phone. Not sure what reviews you were looking at but I leave honest reviews whether they are good or bad. Your response just supports my first review. If I could negative stars I would. Called to ask about replacing a part the I know needs to be replaced. Refused to give me a price and said if I was price shopping then they are comparable to other shops. Told me I needed a diagnostic test in order to get the correct answer. Apparently you as a car owner are NOT smart enough to know what is wrong with your own car.

angel huerta First off I can not say thank you enough to Haile !! My husband brought my car in on a Thursday & we got it back the very next day , compared to Kia Dealership who wanted us to wait 21 days with it there just for them to run a diagnostic check test on it !! Which was absolutely ridiculous , haile was absolutely wonderful she stood in touch with us the whole time keeping us updated & even tried talking with the Kia dealership herself but they just kept saying it was 21 days no matter what . Im so glad we found this place my car is running smoothly , they found out the problem the very next day and we also got my car back that day . Im beyond grateful for this shop & for her !

S Rami I waited 2 weeks for a diagnostic appt. I was the only customer there. The young mechanic was rude, but hey, its early in the morning, maybe not a morning person. The manager Janelle came in about 835am. and asked if I was leaving my car, I said no. Instant attitude from the mechanic and her. The mechanic took 40 minutes to diagnose my vehicle. He didnt enter the data in the computer, he hand wrote it. Janelle had a question about his diagnosis, but unfortunately, he was in the restroom and wasnt coming out. She asked me to leave, and she would call me with the information. I had to pay my $165.00. I waited 2 days and called back, and asked what was going on. I havre heard from you all. Janelle got pissy because I was bothering them... LOL...long story short. I got a written estimate with fancy writing that I cant read...LOL... no diagnose codes, and my car idling had been pumped up. I had to lower it again. They didnt accept responsibility for doing that. Bad service from the get-go .

Dirtlife 310 Not very good, wasn’t even willing to diagnose the problem I was having with my car and they told me to just drive it and if it brakes bring it back , brought it to another mechanic somewhere else and they took alittle time to find the problem but fixed the problem and told me if I kept driving it like that it would have caused alot of damage. Monse Filomeno Dont go here he will try to overcharge for every peice you need and laugh in your face when you have questions about the work being done. He has no sense of what good customer service is and should only be used for work if you have absolutely no care in the world for your money and time. Wanted to charge close to 600 for a job which parts were worth 75 and the job took way less than 3 hours even though he kept moving back and forth between cars. At the end he refused to fix my car because I was making too much questions to completely understand what was being done. He was rude from the beginning. He tried to skimp me out of my money more than once honestly just go somewhere else. Literally ANYWHERE else.

Tina Russell I desperately needed a moble mechanic. When Daniel arriived, he was on time, very polite and professional. He gave me a fair quote. I am happy that I found someone who would not take advantage of someones situation. I appreciate his honestly and customer service. I highly recommend Daniel for your mechanic needs. I received nothing but excuses, a run around, initially ignored then someone came checked but didnt let me know they were there. He left with out speaking to me. Dan was all smiles and friendly until they got the job and paid in full. I would say avoid them at all costs!!

David Matteson Do not use i had to go get my truck back after it was promised to be done three weeks prior when i got it back looked like a cop shop had it. He doesn’t pay his guys that he doesn’t tell you works for him. He works on a bunch of cars that he doesn’t know as he told me he didn’t know my truck that someone else took it apart and lost a bunch of bolts. Now have somebody else doing the repair who is even said this guy didn’t have a clue and should not be working on cars. My truck came back with lots of new dents. Scratches all the way down to the metal missing parts worst mechanic ever.

Justin Aquino I discovered Andrae when my uncles radiator blew up on my 2000 Nissan quest. My uncle his car the next day cause at the time he was going through dialysis with his kidney transplant. Andrae was helpful and worked on my uncles car the same night when I dropped it off at 10 pm. He knew my uncle was in need of help due to his health problems and got it running the next day. Thanks to Andrae my uncle was able to have his van back. Most honest and affordable mechanic here in Bakersfield. You have my word on that guys!

Eliza Day Honestly so grateful I found this mechanic! Super honest, fair prices, and didn’t try to push anything I didn’t need. Andrae figured out what was wrong with my car really quickly and was able to provide an estimate right away. The response time was fast, and I felt like the actually cared.
