Rynn21 There used to be really honest and hard work done here. Over the last 8 years or so, the quality of the work has gone downhill. Before relatives moved, they had work done for their road trip. Whoever was hired did a shoddy job and my family had to fix the problem where they moved. The owner of C.A.R. was informed. My husband and I started to go to him and we liked his honesty. However, it became clear he was overwhelmed with the work load, especially at his age. It would take days for him to fix our vehicle, and whoever he did hire didnt do a good job. This meant he often worked alone or with only one other guy. Queue to the last 3 years and any time we tried to get work done, the business looked closed. I tried calling. No answer. Then suddenly, the shop is back open. Ok. Great. Not so great. Just as quickly, the shop kept looking closed. Every once in awhile while doing errands, I swear the shop is open. Yet, no one answers the phone. Its very bizarre. Many have reported it closed, including myself, before I noticed the short periods of time where the business appears to be open. Its just not worth it. Weve been going elsewhere. We are limited on where we can go since we only have one vehicle, so walking distance is a must. Right now its Pep Boys for oil changes, and Motion Tire II for the rest (GREAT owner).

Deborah Marie Templeton This man made me pay him $400 cash at 2am after damaging my 2004 SUBURBAN He got me to okay staying over night b c he could not run the shifter cable down into the proper position after he sabotaged the original, the passenger door worked fine until he screwed this up too inside door handle no longer opens the door It was not until I refused to leave with him at midnight to go eat It cost me $120 to have stereo land fix the tampering good old Ben did to the aftermarket alarm system I just had installed This man should be behind bars Come to think of it he still has parts to my car he refuses to give back to me Deborah Templeton One of the worst experiences Ive ever had and it cost me a total of $520

Manny Centeno I took our 2016 BMW 3 series to have the motor mounts checked. The Camarillo BMW dealer shop said that the mounts were shot and needed to be replaced. The car is only 6 years old and has 46k miles so I sought a second opinion with Jim at Creative Car care. I am so glad I did because he said there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with the mounts on our car. Camarillo BMW was going to charge $2200 and if Jim would have needed to replace them he said it would be 750. Since Jim found nothing wrong, he didnt charge me anything! What a surprise! I will definitely be using Creatuve Car Care in the future. Thank you Jim

Clyde B I took my van into Creative Care a couple of years ago and it was running badly, on three cylinders. After weeks of "extensive diagnostics" it turned out that it needed an engine rebuild. Jim suggested I do a top-end rebuild, to which I agreed. He did the work and $4.5K later, the Oil pressure was bad and then he told me the van needed a completely new engine! Jim never did a leak-down test for the bottom end, and Jim didnt offer the full rebuild. I trusted his "Expert Advice" and regretted it. Jim refused to admit any responsibility for not performing the test on the bottom end or refund any money for the useless work he performed. I ended up having to pay someone else to do the complete rebuild on the same block including the top end all over again! For that reason, if I could give him zero Stars I would. This man does not stand behind his work. DO NOT GO HERE!

Seth McGuire After two frustrating experiences at the VW dealership I decided to find an independent auto mechanic. My search led me to Creative Car Care, owned and operated by Jim. I brought my 08 Passat in with some electrical issues. It turned out to be an inexpensive, quick fix for Jim. Jim kept me informed while working on my car, fixed minor things for free and provided great money saving advice regarding future maintenance. If youre looking for an independently owned business with an honest, knowledgeable owner I highly recommend Creative Car Care. I wont go anywhere else!

Cyclops Tried several shops for an engine repair. Dealer wouldnt work on it and wanted to replace the engine for $9,000+. Finally talked to Floyd and was surprised to hear they actually do more than tune ups, brakes, etc. While it did take a couple of weeks to get it back and it was still thousands of dollars, it was half the price of the dealer or less and they do provide a warranty for their work. This is our go to auto repair now. Two thumbs up.

Macken Wong I did not have any repair work done here, however I did call for an estimate so I could compare and shop around. The phone operator and service manager I spoke with were very courteous and helpful. They called me back within an hour and gave me an estimate even though many other shops refused to tell me anything without actually bringing my car in. I appreciate how upfront they were with everything and how responsive they are. The only reason i did not have the work done here is because I needed the job done immediately and they didnt have the parts available.

Ian Kistner Dishonest. Negligent. Horrible Service. 0 stars. Worst business Ive ever interacted with. Cost me thousands. Took my 97 jeep in for an electrical issue in late 2024. Paid ~$1200, they kept my jeep for 6 months sitting on their lot, didnt fix the issue, and didnt refund me. I picked it up twice over this time-period when they got it started and broke down within 10 miles of shop both times. Paid out of pocked for tows back to shop. I regularly asked for updates and was apparent they werent prioritizing it. Would get texts back saying they were waiting on parts. 5 months in they said they mis-diagnosed what they thought was the issue. When I picked it up last, shop manager admitted "Weve been negligent with your vehicle over last 6 months", told me it wasnt prioritized, he wasnt aware theyd had it that long, and still refused to refund me. Owner was in shop that day and avoided me when I asked to speak with him directly. Emailed him a week earlier politely asking for my vehicle to be prioritized and received no response. Dont trust this business.

Ben BEST AUTO SHOP IN VENTURA !! Was in a pinch needing a same day diagnostic for a minor suspension issue and Marc got me in with the best technician within an hour. Found the problem within 30 minutes, tightened some loose sway bolts and didn’t even charge me These guys are lifesavers and will definitely be coming back !!
