05-2025 Spoke & Weal in The Best 19 Hair Salon in Palo Alto, San Mateo Country Studio5526 Salon & Spa - Los Angeles Ramish: got my dreads re-twisted by a guy he was cool and i liked my hair but there was bugs and roaches everywhere and there was a woman doing hair across from the chair i was sitting in and she was very aggressive and seemed like her and another worker was high off some type of drug maybe coke or some pills. they made me very uncomfortable and there were kids around as well. the bathroom was very outdated and had bugs but overall i am giving a 1 because the environment and the way some of the workers conducted themselves
Sasha Hairstylist Los Angeles - West Hollywood Anastasiia: I visited Sasha for a haircut and was very pleased. His workspace was clean and bright, and I was offered coffee or tea. He was really nice and polite, listened to all my needs, and gave me the haircut just the way I wanted. Sasha, thank you for the haircut and the enjoyable conversation!

Her attention to detail is unmatched, which is why she’s the only person I trust to cut my hair—I’m very picky, and she nails it every time. Her salon is always spotless, and the staff are friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Salon Biology - Los Angeles Brigitte Kenny: Moving to a new city always comes with challenges, and finding a great hair salon is definitely one of them! I’m so glad I found this place. Sara did an absolutely fantastic job. It’s always nerve-wracking to trust someone new with your hair, but she made me feel completely at ease. The salon itself was a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, and the entire experience was top notch. Super pleased with my hair and will definitely be back again.
Hair By Nico - Los Angeles Allen Riberdy: This was a pretty amazing haircut. I thought that I had seen all I could regarding my own hair. Nicos cut looked great when I walked out and it still looks great two weeks later! (And he played some awesome music videos for me while he cut my hair. :) ). He is super-talented!
Harper Salon - Los Angeles Jean Randel: I absolutely love this salon! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! They immediately ask if you would like water etc.I take a keratin treatment from her and my hair has never been so soft and straight till today! HIGHLY suggest this salon for all of your hair needs: cut, color, hair transformations!
M Hair & Beauty Salon - Los Angeles Q Sa: I highly recommend M hair Salon! The people are nice and welcoming. I am picky with my hair so it is hard to find a salon that knows my hair but Jennifer who was my hairstylist gave me perfectly what I wanted! She was even nice to show me how to style it too!
SHIMA Los Angeles - Los Angeles T H: I heard that SHIMA, a very famous hair salon in Japan, has opened in LA, and I’ve been interested in it. After checking their Instagram, I made a reservation without hesitation. Yuki is a very talented and skilled hairstylist! I had my hair cut and colored twice, and it was honestly the best salon experience I’ve ever had. Also, the head spa I received in a calm, private room was a truly relaxing and luxurious experience. Im already looking forward to my next visit.
Halls Of Ivy Salon - Los Angeles Veronica Taylor: Halls of Ivy Salon is by far my favorite salon I’ve ever been to. The hospitality and care they put into their work is unmatched, and I always feel at home here. The owner Kristin goes out of her way to make sure everyone is welcome, and as a queer person, I truly love that I have a safe space. 10/10 would recommend! Also if you have hair damage like me from previous at-home hair projects, request the K18 treatment, it has truly changed the health of my hair, and it feels like silk now!
Hair People Full Services Salon - Los Angeles Raquel: I was in LA for a concert about 2 weeks ago and had time to kill. Was feeling spontaneous and decided to get a haircut with the couple hours I had. I started googling places and all the reviews for this salon were great. I was skeptical at first from the picture of the outside but I called and Julie was able to get me in super fast. She could also quote me over the phone what her starting prices were (which I thought was too good to be true) something that a lot of salons don’t like to disclose until you’re in their chair. It was a relaxing atmosphere. The service came with shampoo and conditioner and the full haircut. Julie was so genuine and you could tell she truly loves her job. She keeps her prices affordable for the average person as myself which I appreciated so much. Please support small businesses like this salon as Julie is the owner and only stylist, it’s hard to keep busy when there’s so many other salons in LA. In the end, I came out loving my haircut and know if I’m in LA and in need of a random haircut again, I will definitely be going back.
