5 /5 Lauren Blair: I’m really happy with SLO Health.
I had wanted to find a primary care doctor after bouncing around for years with doctors through my insurance. It would go like this: wait 4 to 6 months to get a new patient appointment to “establish care” where I felt rushed trying to cover my medical history in 10 minutes, then wait another 4 months or so to get an actual appointment, they would do some tests and it would take months to get in for the follow-up and by then, either the doctor had changed practices or insurance coverage had changed and I had to go through it all again with another doctor. I felt like I never saw the same doctor twice and there was no point in *technically* having a primary care doctor that I could never get in to see, causing me to end up just going to urgent care when something came up.
After telling a friend about my frustrations, she recommended I try a “direct primary care” doctor. I did think it sounded a little strange at first, but I’ve been really happy with SLO Health. Selena at the front desk is super helpful and I’m able to get an appointment when I need to (I see Elise the nurse practitioner and she’s great). I would definitely recommend this place : )
