We had a blown head gasket, and they not only fixed it perfectly but also gave us an oil change. The owner is awesome—super friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, there are two sweet dogs that greet you when you arrive, which makes the whole experience even better! The prices are fair, and the quality of work is top-notch. I feel so lucky to have found this place and will definitely be back for any future car needs!

5 /5 Luke Sweeney: I never in my life expected or even hoped to get auto service as thorough, fair, honest, transparent, kind, intuitive, and altogether professional as the care we received for our 2014 Toyota Prius at Nevada city auto service. From a blown head gasket, toasted spark plugs, brake pads, and everything else that our car with high mileage required, the repairs and replacements were handled with expert care and efficiency. It feels like we’re driving a brand new car now — one with 178K miles on it! I will be taking my vehicles to Mike and his crew exclusively from here on out. Five stars isn’t even enough.

5 /5 Gretchen Rice: This mechanic shop is great! My engine light started blinking 10 minutes into my drive this morning and I was stranded in the middle of nowhere on Memorial Day! After calling a bunch of closed shops these guys were open and willing to squeeze me in to help me out. Mike was great at explaining the problem and answering all my questions, they even showed me the broken parts on my van. Ill be able to get back on the road by the end of the day! I really appreciated the service and willingness to help out especially when most other shops were closed for the holiday or unable to help me quickly!

5 /5 Cameron: NC Auto is a rare and uncommon find in the Nevada County auto service trade. The owner, Mike Pennock, runs a very tight shop with a vigilant, watchful eye on each and every service being performed by his mechanics. Mike literally gives the same care and attention to his customers cars as he does to his own vehicle. NC Auto recently sent the first exhaust manifold they ordered for me back because it wasn’t within spec. It meant taking a chance that my car wouldn’t be back when I wanted it but they prioritize the quality of their work above all else and always do the job right. 95% of shops would have just thrown it in the vehicle and let me worry about it down the road. I have finally found a competent Nevada County auto mechanic that I can trust. Mike, your continued personal care and attention to my cars is appreciated!
