Very easy, friendly, fast appointment, helpful staff that seemed genuinely happy to see us, and our 14 year old pup is happier than she has been in years only a few days after starting treatment! They were helpful and informative. Very appreciative these folks are here, and that we chose to try them first! The pricing was nothing bad as we had feared, and in fact seemed a bargain for the area.

We first started out at Carmel valley vet and realized they were not fulfilling our needs so we found Monterey Animal Hospital. We are glad we chose to come here as they have been great during our time in the Monterey area. We loved Dr. Mulder as she has treated both of our pups. My 10 year old Boston also had surgery here and the tech and her did a great job in his recovery and procedure. Our 3 year old lab mix developed allergies and was quickly treated as well. Highly recommend this veterinary location.

Our neighbor Betty here recommended Monterey Animal Hospital, and we are so glad she did. The doctors and staff at M.A.H. are excellent caregivers, and take the time to fully explain what your pet needs and why. The atmosphere is relaxed and professional, making both pet and owner more comfortable during the visit. We highly recommend Monterey Animal Hospital for your fur babies. From the office staff staff, techs to the vets themselves - they’ve all been amazing & seem to genuinely care about what they do. Grateful we found them!

We were here for about an hour and 40 minutes before anyone even came in the room to check on us one of the nurses across the way decided to ask me if I needed anything while I was looking out of the window, trying to be funny in front of her other coworkers they then sent in, another woman who proceeded to speak to my daughter, not address me at all as the parent she looked at my face and walked out of the room . Young rude indecent maybe being black is still an issue in certain places.

Linda Puleo: I had three (unfortunate) visits to the Emergency Department in the last 14 months. All three times were five star. All the way. (One was stitches in a finger from a new kitchen knife, one was sepsis and acute appendicitis which led to a two week hospitalization and major surgery called a right hemicholectomy, one was two weeks following discharge when I was treated for complication from the surgery. All incredible staff and medical attention. I’d give a five star review but during the 2 week stay I had one terrible nurse. The only time she was in my room on the surgery floor was to change my IV. I had two friends visiting me at the time, and they were floored by the way she treated me. I talked to a very nice nursing manager about what happened. The nurse never came near me again, and everyone else was wonderful. The reason I’m deleting a star is because no one acknowledged this was completely inappropriate of her, no one apologized for her behavior. I felt unheard and like I was being difficult, when in fact the IV needle was not inserted properly and was causing great pain in my arm. I screamed when they tried to put fluid into it (to test it for a CT scan with contrast). Obviously they fixed it immediately in radiology - they were great - but when I’d told the nurse it hurt and I didn’t think it was in my vein she stood up, “Said maybe you’re just a hypochondriac!” and walked out the door. I would have felt so much better if the manager (or if she had) apologized to me. But other than that! I loved everyone who took care of me. Very grateful to Dr. Matthew Shephard for being willing to operate on me when I was just a wildcard after having an “appendectomy” in Sicily where they actually didn’t remove my appendix at all. I am so lucky to be alive, and very grateful to everyone at The Queen…and don’t get me started on the food!! It was fantastic. 100x better than the food in an Italian hospital, who would have thought??!
