Banner Lassen Medical Center - Susanville David Overton: The staff at labor and delivery are nothing less than angels. My wife and newborn son wanted for nothing while under their care. Even after my wife was discharged and we had to wait for our son to be discharged, they still took care of all three of us. Thank you so very much to all involved with the birth of our son, Jasper!!!

ęøøč®°: 0 STARS ā AVOID LAC-USC ER AT ALL COSTS!!!
If you have a choice between going to LAC-USC ER or dying in the street⦠well, at least the street wonāt violate your privacy and let a psych patient steal your identity and would be cleaner.
Where do I even start? After confirming I had a fracture at urgent care, I was sent in circles between primary care and the ER for weeks, all while my broken elbow went untreated. My primary doctor couldnāt see me in-office and instead sent me to this hellhole for a cast and an orthopedic referral. Big mistake.
From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in trouble. I couldnāt even get in the front door because a psych patient was blocking the entrance. Security? Oh, they were just chilling, watching this happen and did nothing. After convincing her to let me through (because, apparently, patient safety is optional here), I checked in only to have the same psych patient overhear all my personal information and immediately attempt to check in as me! And the kicker? The nurse LET HER. No correction, no intervention. Just handed my birthdate over like it was a clearance sale. I now have the added bonus of identity theft trauma, courtesy of LAC-USC.
Then came the wait. Three hours just to get my vitals checked in a triage area that smelled like a cocktail of urine, vomit, and neglect. I watched patients actively bleeding, vomiting, and suffering in hallways while staff laughed, scrolled their phones, and took their sweet time doing anything remotely medical. Yes, ERs are busy but this wasnāt just busy. This was deliberate incompetence.
I have been to hospitals in third-world countries, have been admitted to hospitals overseas, and have personally worked in emergency medicine both in hospitals and prehospital. Never in my life have I seen an ER as disgustingly mismanaged as this one. The level of care and cleanliness in some of the poorest places in the world is still better than what LAC-USC ER provides.
After another two-hour wait (still no treatment, just sitting in filth), I had the pleasure of being harassed by yet another psych patient this one fresh out of prison, asking personal information telling me how he was trying to either get admitted or get arrested again so he could have a place to stay. Fantastic. At this point, my personal safety mattered more than my broken elbow, so I left AMA.
2 days ago my primary care finally was able to see me only to confirm that yes, my elbow is fractured, yes, I needed a cast, and yes⦠I had to go BACK TO THIS ER because their office referral would take to long and its needs to be treated ASAP. I cant bring myself to come back here just the thought of this ER makes me sick!
Four. Weeks.
It has now been a full month with an untreated fracture, declining mobility, and worsening pain. I reached out to administration a week ago no response. No ombudsman, no accountability, no care. This is not just a bad hospital. This is patient neglect.
DO. NOT. COME. HERE.
If you need emergency care, try Cedars-Sinai, Huntington Hospital, or literally anywhere that doesnt smell like suffering and biohazards.
Shame on you, LAC-USC. You are a disgrace to healthcare, an insult to patient dignity, and a prime example of why people avoid hospitals at all costs. Fix your staff, fix your system, and for the love of God and all that is holy, CLEAN YOUR FACILITY!
My next step will be a Lawsuit since that seems to be the only way your administration will take things seriously..
Huntington Hospital - Pasadena Nev Banto: This hospital is such a great place. The staff are amazing. Everyone is so compassionate from janitors to the administration. I love this place. Iām always apprehensive about going to the hospital that I have never been to before and not knowing what to expect. They are very comforting, competent and capable. They actually listen to their patients. They actually communicate. They donāt just give you five minutes and walk out the door Iām disabled and the treatment that disabled people get in this country can sometimes be dehumanizing. This hospital no matter what your economic or social status or anything like that is, they treat you like a human they treat you like an equal with kindness and compassion
Shriners for Children Medical Center - Pasadena Val Wright: Shriners Childrenās is incredible. One daughter broke her toe A few months ago. Another daughter broke her finger recently. The simplicity of scheduling, the brilliant doctors, the friendly expert cast makers, the receptionists, the organizer of the waiting room, the security guardsā¦Iāve never been to a medical facility where itās simply a joy to go to where everyone you meet seems to genuinely care about you and your child.
