1 /5 Viji Rajan: Dr. David Cutler is a very good doctor. I really appreciate all his help. He understands my problem and always answers my email on my medical concern. He really cares for his patients. Lately, I am just having a hard time getting appointment with specialist. It takes too long. Dr. Cutler is too busy. I am not able to get appointment to see him on the same day. It used to be easy. I am not sure what to do.

5 /5 M.L. E.: Good customer service is hard to find in healthcare these days. Dr Cutler is my PCP and he stands out as someone who knows what they are doing and isn’t afraid to make clear decisions even if their patient, aka me, has very complex issues and admits to resisting bad medical news. Drs have a lot of pressure from insurance companies. Dr Cutler (and Providence in general) wear the same clothes as other Drs but the humans underneath are the good ones you want on your side when you need it.

5 /5 Silver Park: I had to write this review b/c I see people c/o waiting one hour or so or not being able to get appointments. Dr. Cutler is a great doc, certainly the most knowledgeable person Ive ever met and definitely the best fam doc out there. Yes, for that reason he is very busy. However, most clinics cannot see people for 6-8 weeks out. In terms of the wait time..most docs are chronically late only b/c of what their job entails, the level of multitasking that always has to go on, emergencies that occur while they are constantly on call. However, 1 hour is not a long wait at all for any doctors visit. I have been to doctors that make you wait 2 hours for a level of care that is so inferior...I cant even. Dr. Cutler definitely does take the time to review each care carefully; trust me, you are not being ignored or not heard. If you dont want the scribe in there, just request it instead of complaining afterwards. Also, HE DOES NOT HANDLE THE BILLING...I dont understand why people think that docs know anything about insurance.

I would not be at the lower pain level and higher functionality level that I am now without his wise guidance. He has been able to help me navigate a complex disease and a complex set of options for pain and functionality management. He brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the table as well as a level of kindness rarely seen in many physicians. I highly recommend him.

Sabrina Cheng: Today, I had a markedly unpleasant experience at the clinic not as a patient but as a patient’s relative. Although the sleep specialist was excellent, unfortunately one front of office staff member displayed clear lack of concern for client experience and needs remedial training ASAP. There were 2 persons in the waiting room who were required the assistance of a cane, including myself, when my spouse was checking in for his appointment today. While 2 out of 3 front office staff were busy checking in patients, 1 staff member was not otherwise occupied. She couldn’t be bothered to leave her comfortable seat behind the check-out desk (even through there was nobody checking out of their appointments during the entire time a line was forming for folks needing to check in to their appointments). Moreover, when I requested to sit just inside the door separating the check-in staff from the waiting room, this staff could not be bothered to listen carefully to my request and demanded that I vacate the area immediately. When I raised my voice in order to be heard despite being masked, the staff then accused me of being disruptive. Wow! Very disappointing to be in a healthcare facility where the staff can’t be bothered to display an iota of professional courtesy and compassion. Although the other staff members were commendable, this one staff member made our typically pleasant experience at Sta. Monica UCLA Pulmonary Sleep Clinic markedly unpleasant. Hope this leads to much needed retraining for optimal patient experience soon! P.S. Overall 3-star clinic experience because the sleep MD and respiratory techs have always been excellent professionals despite being let down by their front of office staff members.

Scott E: Dr. Lees next appointment is in the middle of September...its May 16th. What? Dr. Lee isnt a specialist...hes not an orthopedic surgeon. Hes an internist. Why would you wait that long to see your primary care doctor? What medical condition do you have that allows you to wait that long? If someone can wait 4 months to see a primary care doctor, then they dont really need a doctor. If the Dr. is just a yearly physical doctor, then maybe he should market himself that way. "You can see me once a year, but thats it." And I see that Dr. Lee is accepting new patients. Ahh maybe he shouldnt be. I have lived part of my adult life in the Netherlands and you can see world class doctors within a week...sometimes the same day. But I dont think its just a broken system in the US...I booked a well-reviewed doctor with the Cedars medical group for next week. Maybe its UCLA Health that doesnt work.
