First, I knew what tires I wanted, and they were able to order them and have them ready at the shop in two days - amazing. I brought my car in at 7:30am, when they opened and they took me in right away (several other cars showed up right behind me). The people are super nice and friendly, both in person and on the phone. Love that. We picked our car up after about three hours, and not only was it ready and waiting, it was washed and cleaned inside and out. Holy cow! That was unexpected and amazing. All in all, just a great experience. Oh, also, the price of the tires was quite competitive.

    Christian Neizonek: This place was amazing. I was in a pinch and unable to take my car to my normal mechanic. I was worried about going to a different shop, but the team here was extremely patient, transparent, and knowledgeable. They suggested a few solutions first which would be free and wouldnt make them any money. Once I insisted on the more complete work, the prices they gave were more competitive than the ones I heard elsewhere. Would definitely suggest them to anybody in the area.

    Patrick: Were so happy we found Auto Specialist! Igor offers incredibly convenient house-call car repair, but thats not all. Hes friendly, punctual, efficient, and explains everything clearly. Plus, his prices are fair and competitive. Igor is honest and transparent about costs. Recently, Igor diagnosed and replaced a faulty starter on my car when it wouldnt start (I thought it was the battery!).  We loved his service so much that we had him replace the battery on another dead car in our garage a few days later. What a lifesaver! We would definitely recommend Igor and Auto Specialist to friends and family for their top-notch auto repair services. Well definitely be calling them again in the future for our car repair needs. Thank you!

    rog daw: To the untrained eye it would be easy to think this is just a gas station with a couple of smog test bays... But au contraire! This is a full fledged auto repair shop and boy are they good! My mothers 1994 Dodge Intrepid had begun to run very rough and the idle speed was getting dangerously high. On top of that the wipers mechanism broke, and you cant live in SF without wipers for the fog! I live a few blocks from this station and noticed they repair a lot of cars. I looked them up here on Yelp and saw great reviews so I asked Ken the mechanic If hed work on my moms old car, he enthusiastically said yes. Ken and his crew diagnosed the problems to a leaking intake manifold and bad plug wires. The manifold was a real challenge because after 25 years the bolts were rusted stuck, but they got them extracted and fixed everything. Great attention to detail like putting in a fresh thermostat while the top of the engine was off. I just picked the car up and it runs like the day my late father bought it, so smooth and lots of torque again with the idle back down where it belongs. They did a fabulous job! And Ken was great at calling me and letting me know the progress and costs, which were very reasonable. Theyre very friendly, enthusiastic and brilliant at repairing cars, even cantankerous old ones! Take your car here first and have Ken take a look at it, you wont be disappointed. I know about fixing cars having done my own car repairs for 40+ years on Fords to Ferraris, so trust me when I say Ken and crew are top notch!

As an enthusiast moving into the city, I was hesitant about finding a new shop where I would feel at ease leaving my car. 30 seconds into talking to Kenny at the front desk had me easing up, and five minutes later I was convinced they know and love cars the same way I do. So whether you’re an enthusiast or just want your car to be in good hands, I cannot recommend this shop enough.

    Laura Pugh: Gary is the reason people love local businesses! I live in the area and often wave while walking past. When my battery died and my car died on the street, he jumped it for free a few streets away. While waiting for the correct battery to come in stock, the car died AGAIN and again he had a mechanic walk a few blocks to jump my car and replace the battery. I was back on the road about 10 minutes later. Its a gem of a spot!
