3 /5 Roxane McCosh: We have never been to Napa so we wanted to go to a higher quality restaurant to have a nice experience on the Napa River. We discussed if parking were an issue, we would go someplace else. It was an artificially built made to look historic building with no direct parking but since we found street parking (after making a u turn in the street), we stayed. At first, I was excited, I loved the river front, the look of the outside bar, and the design of the restaurant. I walked in and no one was there to greet us, the open kitchen staff (where there appeared to have at least 10 workers), just kept working, didn’t acknowledge me, and the few who looked up, didn’t say “someone will be right with you” or anything. We waited a few more minutes and thought about leaving. When someone did arrive, I said it seems like there will likely be a lot of people customers arriving later, and she shook her head and said “no”. All I could think was, that’s a large staff to pay for not many patrons for a restaurant. What a sad state of affairs for a world renowned town like Napa to have ungrateful staff, I saw another couple staff members jibber jabbering out front and being so disrespectful of anyone dining there. The server was excellent - he deserves 5 stars. We started with soup and salad and decided if it wasn’t 5 stars, we may not order an entree. The Caesar salad was poorly chopped, had minimal dressing, and the soup was luke warm. We decided to leave. The architecture was beautiful - I took photos when we first arrived. But not impressed with the food so didn’t take any images of the disappointment. Wasn’t going to do a review but I think the Owner should know he’s wasting his money on staffing.
