4 /5 Nikhil: We chose this Burmese restaurant, the closest one on historic Murphy Ave, for our office lunch outing. We secured patio seating along the road, which was ideal for the lovely weather. Outdoor seating is preferable for larger groups. We kicked off with drinks, including Mango Mojito, Burma Dream, and Burmese Iced Milk Tea. The Burma Dream was complex and enjoyable, while the Burmese Iced Milk Tea didn’t go over well with the group - no one finished it. The Palata served with Veg Curry Dip or Chicken Curry Dip was as good as always, and the Sweet Chili Tofu was tasty. However, the Shrimp Rolls were disappointing, just shrimp in batter with no flavor, skip it. The Tea Leaf Salad was good, but the Mango Salad was even better - a must-try! Between the Fish Chowder Noodle Soup (Moat Hingar) and the Samosa Soup, we preferred the Moat Hingar as it was more rich in flavor. For entrees, we enjoyed the Black Pepper Lamb, Eggplant Shrimp with Garlic Sauce, Burmese Shrimp Curry and Fiery Vegetables. The Kebat Lamb and Kebat Veggie were a bit bland and could use more seasoning. We wrapped up with desserts: Coconut Pudding and Jackfruit Bananas. The Jackfruit Bananas were definitely the highlight. Both desserts were similar and came with ice cream, but the Coconut Pudding was in thick batter compared to the Jackfruit Bananas. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed a wonderful team lunch.
