Tobias Samuel (Tobi) I came in the ER because I was having my first panic attack, whatever. I listed every symptom I was experiencing and the Doctors and nurses only worried about the anxiety and sent me away with only anxiety meds and well get a psychologist I HAVE POTS!! They didnt listen to me! Do not go here if you were born a woman they will say you are mentally ill or overweight and send you away! J. Foster WILL NOT LISTEN

John Han I had a great experience yesterday at the ER. My nurses were kind and everyone had a welcoming attitude. My doctor was thorough with her work up and made sure I knew what to do after discharge. The CT scan tech was also very nice and experienced. She communicated what was happening and how I’d feel. I appreciate this team for making me feel better.

Cs Cat How can you take care of patients if you treat staff so poorly? The place is so bad, no one talks to the patients, staff dont talk to staff, and if you are white, you will be treated like a second class citizen, as the only people who matter are the people who run the place: Filipinos. They dont want white people working there so they can get max overtime. They are bullies, they bullied me, and the two white RNs sat in the hall and stared at their computer and never talked. They were invisible. This place is a nightmare for staff and parients. The County only has career development for many minority groups and Caucasians dont have any club they can belong to. It is the most openly racist place I have ever been to outside of the deep South.

Sharon Loukx I was taken to this facility in police custody for an alleged felony assault charge after bail posted for me. I had never been arrested nor have I previously spent any time in a psychiatric unit with the exception of my employment as a nurse practitioner. I am from Ohio and not aware of California laws and regulations. The care I received was phenomenal. The facility was spotless. I was suicidal at the jail where the conditions were deplorable. Throughout my stay the staff gave me hope. They understood me. No one ever treated me unfairly. I certainly wasn’t suicidal, in fact I felt hope for the future. I want to thank every individual working from 8pm April 2 to mid afternoon April 3: housekeeping , security, nursing staff, med techs, psychiatrists, LSW, and case managers. I will definitely follow up with your recommendations!

Lauren Gapinske Ive had an okay experience with medical staff, but scheduling team, receptionists, and staff responsible for messaging through the app have all been unprofessional. Scheduling every appointment was a headache, with many mistakes made. A receptionist once failed to check me in properly for my appointment, which resulted in me waiting for an hour in the waiting room, only to have to flag down my provider as she was leaving for the day. Ran into billing issues here as well. I dont like leaving negative reviews but this was just such a uniquely bad experience.

Missoliya I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews for this Scripps location. We live about 7 minutes away and I absolutely love the Carmel Valley clinic. I’ve been here multiple times for prenatal OBGYN visits, labs, as well as pediatric check-ups and everything has been great. It’s always easy to schedule/change appointments, the staff gets back to you right away, I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes (in fact, most of the time I was seen right after I arrived), and everyone has been really pleasant and friendly. They have a pretty big lab as well with very short wait time, if any, and extended hours (until 7pm). The offices are also more modern as compared to other Scripps locations I’ve been too. Parking is also free and relatively easy, which is a huge plus.

Mari Tesch Scripps Mercy Labor and Delivery: I cannot sing my praises loud enough for this place! From the moment I came in to get my emergency induction, to when I gave birth, to when I came back later in the week due to some blood pressure complications, the staff here were INCREDIBLE! My Nurses around the clock were Angels, my CNAs and MAs were angels, and the Doctors were amazing! They treated my husband and I and our daughter like family. I was so nervous to not only give birth (FTM) but also to be a first time patient at a hospital in my life! (Never have been in the hospital), but everyone here made sure I was comfortable and made sure I knew I could call them for anything. I had the best birthing experience and it was everything I had hoped for coming in. Thank you so much to everyone there for your care and hospitality❤️

Abby Kartzinel Got here at 1:00 for a simple ear infection and a need for antibiotics. After seeing the doctor, I’ve been waiting for almost an hour just to get a prescription. I’m here sitting in pain, talked to the front desk, and all I got was a tylenol. I don’t know why it takes almost an hour to write and send a prescription for antibiotics.

T Gomo I am writing to express my frustration with the appointment scheduling process at Scripps Clinic Del Mar Weight Management. Back in July 2024, I booked an appointment, and the earliest available opening was in January 2025, nearly six months later. I have recently learned that my job will require me to be out of the country during that week. I called to reschedule, but I was told there were no available appointments unless I switched to a different doctor. The next available opening with that option would be in June 2025, which is a full 12 months after my original booking. This situation is incredibly inconvenient and frustrating. Given the long wait times, I am concerned about the ability to receive timely follow-up care, especially if further appointments or treatments are required. I cant help but feel that this delay is not only unreasonable but could be detrimental to a patients health and well-being.

Bobby Koch Wow, the best experience I have EVER had at a doctors office. From the front desk staff to medical assistant (Lorenzo) and my doctor (Dr. Crane), the lady who gave me a tetanus shot, and the lab tech, everyone asked me about me, really spent time, and made me feel great after leaving. I cannot recommend this practice enough, at least through Dr Crane. Id give this place 6 stars if I could.

Sequoia This review is for Labor and Delivery. I gave birth to my child a few weeks ago, and it was an amazing experience!!! The Labor and Delivery team was professional, patient, sincere, and courteous. This was my third child, so I already had experience with giving birth in the health care setting. I would summarize my experience by saying that the nurses were attentive to my individual birth plan and respectful of my Christian beliefs, and the professionalism was top-tier, as my husband and I observed that the nurse team and medical staff were courteous and genuine toward me, him, and our baby throughout our stay. I HIGHLY recommend that you have your baby at this hospital!!! Shout out to nurse Adrienne, you were fantastic!!! God bless you!

Helene Feldman No case management came to visit me as promised to discuss my wellbeing. @130am requested pain killers, still waiting at 347am No food or drinks was offered since I’ve been here, which is over 15 hours ago No one inquiring how I am doing since 10pm after the last visit of a very compassionate male doctor. No one asking me if I need to use the restrooms, I needed assistance to reach the restrooms. Left all alone on a gurney since 930/10pm to deal with my excruciating pain. Away from the nurse’ station and no way to contact the nurses when needed, unless I yell in order for me to get someone’s attention, no one is coming by to check on me. I’m so thirsty, hungry and in excruciating pain. Pain medicine was not brought to me when requested and as per doctor’s recommendation. Never given a heating pad to alleviate the pain as per doctor’s recommendation Don’t know who the new doctor is for the following shift as he never introduced him or herself. Was handed a “charity wheelchair” as per the nurse your establishment could not confirmed if they will be getting paid for a new one - can’t wait to see what was truly charged with my insurance . Chair handed was filthy and needed to be scrubbed by the nurses. Was denied MRI as per the female doctor this is a “golden” procedure and they were afraid they would not be paid for the service. Xray and blood test (?) ordered were useless. Explain to me why for more than 20 hours I was not offered any water - except when medication was given when I first check in, no food and my pain medication was withheld from me once one of the first doctor I saw ended his shift? Why was the doctor’s orders not followed? Why was I discharged with a pain level above 10? Why was I left alone for so many hours with no care at all? Why the night shift employees are so detached from their obligations? Why was I not considered a human? I am a daughter, a mom and someone ready to give the last shirt off my back even if that means I’ll freeze, why was I treated like I did not matter to anyone? Only one male doctor early on provided me with the compassion and care I needed, he actually eased my pain Why when he prescribed an intravenous pain killer it was taken away from my care once he left? I’ll figure out his name soon to thank him personally because he certainly is not part of this awful review, he is from Brooklyn NY, please let him know, that day he made a huge difference in my care, he made me feel like I matter as a person - not a number. To the Brooklyn doctor, thank you for your kindness, thank you for caring. Pictures reflect: fresh blood on the bathroom floor not cleaned for hours, crackers handed when I complained about being hungry, facing the wall from 10pm to my checkout, dirty charity walker handed! No sheets at the bottom of gurney or on top for a while.

Teresa Hogan Horrible, horrible service! Too bad you cant rate with zero stars. Their computer system meltdown that happened months ago is just an excuse for terrible customer service. If you call they say you wont get a call back for 5-7 business days. I called last week and still nothing! Of course you can alway drop by the office to talk to the guy sitting at the table who hands a note to a nurse in the back. Which I have done. Its been months since the meltdown and you would think they could figure out a better system--or at least call us back like they say they will. I am still waiting for an approval on a prescription and a referal to a specialist Ive been seeing for 6 years and nothing. I called today, waited on hold for twenty minutes to talk to the monotone message taker--who couldnt care less if I got the treatment I needed--and got her short and annoyed-sounding robotic response that if I cant wait another 5-7 business days for a referral Ill have to drive up to Poway (I live in San Diego) and talk to whoever is sitting at the table today. I love my primary care doctor, Dure-Smith, who Ive been with for 8 years, but Im done! If you have chronic issues steer clear.

C Choisy DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. WORST EMERGENCY ROOM EVER. The wait time is 5 hours and up. Is that really considered a emergency room??? Also a lot of homeless and crackheads are here and they get really loud and violent. In the 7 hours of waiting, I NEVER saw them clean the WAITING ROOM. The seats look dirty and stained and the front desk lady over here laughing with the coworkers while a lot of people are waiting in pain. How professional

Beau Hampton 14 RNs and EDT ignored us. I counted. We were there for 10 hours; which included an incompetent EDT trying to do an ultrasound on my loved one. They screwed it up and it had to be done again. Blood had to be taken twice because they screwed that up too. Uncaring and apathetic staff that are too busy watching their phones and flirting with each other to actually care about patients. Update on the incompetence: blood was drawn from my loved one THREE TIMES in the total of 12.5 hours that we were there. On the third time I told the RN that my loved one had already had blood taken and hadnt had anything to eat or drink in the past 10 hours and they literally just shrugged it off. Another RN couldnt administer meds through the IV correctly and squirted meds from the syringe all over the wall and into me. The gentleman working behind one the desks (long gray hair tied back in a bun, black and gray beard, glasses) is quite possibly the rudest and most uncaring person ever. I asked, "Hey, weve been here for like 11 hours, can we get some help or a timeline?" His response? "Well you can leave if you want". I told him that my loved one still had an IV in their arm and he rolled his eyes and let out a huge sigh. Its like dude, you may hate your job but cmon man youre there to work and help people. The only way that we got any help was to repeatedly ask the RNs that were walking by to assist us. We were there from 4 in the afternoon to 445am the next day! We never even saw a room, we were kept waiting in the cold hallway. Absolutely reprehensible behavior by everyone there.

Hilary Tshirlig Shoutout to Balboa ER staff, doctors and Corpsman. They all really took great care of me when I was very sick with COVID and also when I got injured on the job at work. They made sure everything was documented in my medical record as requested. Only downside is of course you will have to wait awhile in the waiting room as they are busy but they took great care of me and listened to me. They’ve been taking good care of me since I was a Seaman Recruit. Thank you all very much.

J Halofan360 Took my wife here for severe back and abdominal pain, she can barely walk or move. She got her vitals checked at 4:15 pm. Around 15 people who came in after her with lesser problems got called back so I went to the front to ask for help at 8:30 I said its been over 4 hours. They said 1 person was ahead of her. Ever since 6 more people went to the back before she was even called. How has this place not been corrected with all of its horrible reviews
