  • Yolo Barre - Davis
Marita Madeloni: Yolo Barre has changed my life. I love the fun, low impact, 45 min workouts that are easy to fit in to my schedule. I have become stronger, more flexible and have found a community of positive, supportive people. The instructors are amazing at providing accommodations when needed and keeping up to speed with individual clients needs. I have been a member at Yolo Barre for 2.5 years and this is the longest I have ever been able to stick with a program consistently in my entire life.
    Pure Barre - Davis
Leonardo DiCaprio The Umbrella Cockatoo: Not surprising that this studio has great reviews. As a newbie to the area I was looking to get my sweat on and build community. Everyone at the studio is welcoming and the instructors strive to get to know you. The workouts are Hard but the dedicated instructors are there to help. Great facilities that are super clean and well stocked (need a little dry shampoo after your crazy workout? They got ya!). So happy I found this place!!
    Club Pilates - Davis
Janine Nguyen: I love the Club Pilates location in Davis! Very clean facility, easy to find parking, and wonderful staff and instructors. I felt very welcomed and accommodated, and Valencia was amazing as an instructor for my intro class. The flow of class is very deliberate, clear, and helps me feel more attuned with my mobility and core work. Highly recommend for all ages.
UC Davis Health Fitness Center - Sacramento
A C: If you are eligible, this is a great inexpensive gym near the hospital. For UCD students, staff, and affiliates only. Has locker room and showers.
    Orangetheory Fitness - Davis
    Jazzercise Davis - Davis
Marina Oshana: I am a complete and unabashed Jazzercise Davis addict! This is the only exercise class Ive tried that has held my attention as an adult. The routines are fun and varied, the music is lively and the community spirit infectious. And you will get fit, fast. The instructors are wonderful at demonstrating various of the routines (for aerobics, strength, core, etc) to accommodate all levels of ability. Our mantra is "keep moving "-- and its hard not to with such a wonderful group of people. Try it!!
Activities and Recreation Center | UC Davis - Davis
Gary Osterloh: The Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) at UC Davis is a textbook example of style over substance. On paper, it looks impressive — modern facilities, extensive programs, and the usual promises of promoting student well-being. In reality, it’s overcrowded, poorly maintained, and often more of a source of frustration than benefit. Equipment is frequently out of order, wait times are unreasonable, and the overall atmosphere is chaotic, not motivating. It’s hard to see this as a “resource” when it feels more like a chore to use. The bigger issue is reflective of a wider problem at UC Davis: a university that invests heavily in optics while neglecting basic student needs. Safety concerns go unanswered until tragedy strikes, as seen with the fatal incident involving a student and a garbage truck — something that was preceded by numerous complaints about the exact area. Mental health resources are fragmented at best, despite alarming statistics, including the highest student suicide rate in the UC system between 2008-2018. UC Davis seems far more comfortable directing funds into reputation management — such as extensive PR campaigns after the 2011 incident — rather than providing meaningful, long-term improvements for its students. It’s unfortunate to witness students who are serious about their education sidelined or stigmatized, while administrative priorities revolve around maintaining a polished exterior. For those considering UC Davis because of its advertised “student-centered” experience, I recommend taking a closer look at the consistent pattern of neglect beneath the surface. The ARC, much like the institution it belongs to, appears well-branded but fails to deliver on the essentials.
    Studio 355 - Davis
Jana Salocks: For 2 years, I have counted on Allison to help me manage my joint hyper mobility, which is not a condition most people understand. I sometimes go into her studio in pain, but I always leave feeling better if not without pain. She is so precise when she corrects my alignment, posture, and breathing. If you have a chronic condition, I highly recommend individual lessons with Allison, but her group lessons are a great supplement and fun for everyone involved!
    Rocknasium - Davis
Donovan Higgins: They have great Music. Dope climbing gym in Davis. Did a Search it on Web was very happy with what I found. 2 bouldering walls, plenty of top rope and your typical gym equipment. Staff was friendly and I got to get in a climbing session while on the road. Also you can get a Membership there if you got a membership you have to go for 3 weeks 5 days. i loved to climb there lots. One of my favorite places to go Rock climbing.
    Physical Edge Inc - Davis
Arkady Hagopian: My therapist gets a 5+ star. I loved her and her attention to detail, knowledge, and professionalism. BUT their billing practices could use work. I paid what they ask me to pay every time. They initially ran my insurance and despite being in-network (showed them the sheet from my insurance website), they couldnt justify it and charged me out of network. Fine, I let that go, so I paid what they asked me to pay. When all said and done, I still got a $300 bill at the end. Anyone seeking therapy here, the therapists are good but be sure to get all finances squared away BEFORE you step foot.
