1 /5 Hannah: I had a great experience with the instructors at Club Pilates—especially Cristina, Hollie, and the staff at the Davis studio. The classes were excellent, and the front desk team, including manager Heather, was always kind and helpful.
Unfortunately, the corporate policies are rigid and feel predatory. As a graduate student with limited funds, I was trying to prioritize my well-being, but instead felt penalized at every turn.
While traveling for a month, I assumed I could use my membership at another Club Pilates location, only to find it was tied to Davis. I couldn’t pause my membership without 14 days notice, so I paid for a month I couldn’t use. Later, when moving and attempting to cancel 21 days in advance, I was told cancellations require 30 days notice. Despite my efforts to communicate and explain my situation, no one responded until I missed a payment—then I was promptly sent to collections. A staff member even warned, “I’d hate to see this affect your credit score,” which felt unnecessarily threatening.
I stayed loyal to Club Pilates from the day the Davis studio opened, but the company’s policies and lack of flexibility left me feeling taken advantage of. Because of that, I wouldn’t recommend Club Pilates to others, no matter how much I enjoyed the classes themselves.
