They couldnt fix the teeth uneven and to take my teeth out ever time I ate. Like its easy to take out dentures when glued in. Never in all my years have I been attended by a more incompetent dentist. Mya Clark Do not go here unless you want your time wasted. They split my appointments in 3. The X-ray and exam were 1 month apart and the third was supposed to be for cleaning, I definitely thought they would do exam and cleaning in 1 appointment. And on top of it for the fills they said I would need a whole other appointment (so 4 different appointments). I recently went in for my exam and prior to going in I got a call from the front desk asking me to come in 30 minutes earlier than my appointment was set just for them to make me wait in the waiting room for a whole hour! After I went to the back I waited for another 40 in the exam room before the dentist came in. One of the assistants told me that the dentist was unaware that I was there so she had to tell her. There is clearly a lack of communication and organization between the staff. Anyways the dentist says one thing while I have an dental assistant come in with paperwork and started claiming I have 13 cavities that needs to be filled (guessing this was going to be sent off to my insurance which is sketchy between that and the 4 different appointments). They scheduled me for my cleaning and they split that in 2 appointments as well... so I decided to go to a different dentist where i was told that not to be true. they did the X-ray and exam in 1 appointment and had me scheduled for the cleaning the very next. Choose another dental site if you can!

Collaboration I had an unpleasant experience at this dental clinic. After receiving the anesthesia, I was left waiting for over 30 minutes before the dentist returned to begin the cavity treatment. By that time, the anesthesia had already worn off, and instead of acknowledging the delay, the doctor insisted on injecting it again. This is not a standard or recommended practice, as local anesthesia typically takes effect within 5–10 minutes and should be used promptly. Re-injecting due to poor time management raises concerns about professionalism and patient care. Others should be aware of this issue.

Neelam Kaiser Currently in the process of getting ortho treatment done here & so far it’s been the best experience! The staff is always so nice when I come in, the doctor & the assistants are very professional and have helped ease my anxiety with having braces. Definitely recommend for anyone looking into getting braces! Can’t wait for the finished result.

My appointment was on time, fast and thorough. I am no longer in pain. I highly recommend giving this location a try, I am so thankful I did. I appreciate everything they did to help me. Kailyn Arciero Wasn’t the best experience unfortunately. The dentist hops around from patient to patient. They take about 10 in at a time and you are frequently left waiting alone in the operation room. Weird experience. Anyway, maybe they are good at remembering what patient is receiving what treatment. But this was a problem for me because I have a fear of needles to the point where I often pass out after getting a shot. I put in the medical records that I have fainting spells (which isn’t exactly what it is, but I assumed they would ask me about it; they never did). They don’t even tell me when Im getting the shots (2) in my mouth, they just did it. Immediately afterward they left the room and I was beginning to black out. Keep in mind that all the sharp tools were set up on either side of me and I was still in the operating chair. I managed to get to the ground, but I was there for a while before they noticed I just nearly passed out. Wasn’t too happy about that, and I was surprised they continued to leave me alone in the room for 10-15 minutes at a time while they hop patients. I also think they gave me wayy too much numbing medicine because I couldn’t move my face from after the operation (about 11am) all the way until I went to sleep. It was just two small cavities. All that being said, I think they did a decent job on my fillings as they haven’t popped out as far as I know. I will say I suspect one of the cavities was never there though as I never felt any sensitivity in that tooth, couldn’t see any decay even though I looked very thoroughly, and they didn’t show me on the x rays where it was and when I asked they couldn’t really explain well where the other cavity was. I felt like they were lying, I should’ve just walked out. But it’s so hard to find dentists.

Lorena Lopez If I could give zero stars I would. I went in today at 10am to have a temporary crown put on my tooth and came home to eat soup and the crown popped right off in my mouth. The lady that put it on was very unprofessional and very rude. She was opening my mouth up with the sharp tool they use to clean your teeth with. She was rolling her eyes. She was extremely unprofessional and seemed as if she was in a rush. Now im stuck with hardly any tooth in my mouth until they can squeeze me in to fix their mistake.

Treicy Lara Sanchez I had gone to 3 dentistry in the past 9 years and this place is where I feel the most comfortable bringing in my kids. The front office staff are super friendly and kind. They attend you as soon as you come in and easy to talk to. The waiting time is usually not bad. The most I’ve waited in the waiting room would be no more than 30 minutes on a busy day. The orthodontics and his assistants are really comforting to the parents and the child being seen. They are gentle and make my child comfortable with the treatment they are going to work on. I highly recommend this place for your babies. If your looking for comfort and great service for your babies teeth wellbeing.

Even though its a small office, the team made us feel welcome and well cared for. My son has some craniofacial issues, and they not only handled his dental care with expertise but also guided me on the right referrals and next steps, which was especially helpful since we just moved to Bakersfield. Both of my children had a pleasant visit, and we will definitely continue coming here. Highly recommend!

Place is super clean and inviting with relaxing music on the TV and had an air purifier on ensuring we are breathing clean air. Rita at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. Dr Anna Tam was amazing ! She was so gentle , kind and informative with all my dental needs and as a patient I really appreciate Dr Tam and staff for having calming relaxing music both in waiting room and with Dr Tam while she works on our teeth. Jineava To I’ve been going to Dr. Young for years now. I no longer live in Bakersfield but I will continue to drive here every 6 months for my cleanings. She is consistently good and fast and I have a peace of mind coming here because I fully trust the staff. My extractions with her have been so uneventful and so quickly done- it can’t get any better than this.

Win Kyin I had a disappointing experience at Young Smile Dental in Bakersfield. The dentist seemed impatient throughout my visit. She did not complete my tooth filling on the first day, sent me home without making adjustments, and asked me to return the next day. I didn’t complain, even though I had difficulty eating that entire day and night. When I returned for the adjustment, although she asked if my bite felt normal, she looked like impatient. Finally, she didn’t wait to hear my full response and just walked away without any explanation. I’ve never met such a medical professional and I would never do like that to my patients. As a medical professional myself, I understand the importance of patient communication and mutual respect, which I felt was lacking in my experiences with her care. Additionally, on the first day, she blamed my tongue position during the procedure, stopped midway, and refused to complete the filling, insisting I return the next day. Changing tongue position during the dental procedure is a body’s reflex to prevent asphyxiation by the oral secretions. She must understand that concepts as a medical professional. While she appears to be a nice person, her communication skills need improvement. Another concern was her claim that my mom and I must get a cleaning from her every three months or risk losing our insurances. This statement was confusing and didn’t make sense, especially since our oral hygiene is well maintained. Given this experience, I am considering changing my dental care provider.

Carmen A. Made an appointment for my elderly mom. We arrived early on a rainy Wednesday. The receptionist in front were scarce when we arrived and we had to wait just to receive paperwork from the irritated receptionist. Filled everything completely, then sat and waited and waited while everyone who came in after us was called. Mom has IBS, so took her to use their restroom, which was filthy. Made me wonder about their back office cleanliness. After an hour of waiting and never being called or told why there was a significant delay, we left. Wish I could send them a bill for my time and efforts. My elderly mom was not pleased with the extensive wait, especially since we arrived early. Never going back due to lack of consideration for our time.

Nicole Mckoy Dr. Tran and ALL HIS STAFF are amazing. From the front of the office to the back. The term treat others how you would to be treated… this is them. Helpful, knowledgeable, understanding, compassionate they are this to a T. Now Dr. Tran is honest, he won’t sugar coat that you’ve been playing the wrong games with your teeth. He is also extremely gentle and he cares. Over all the dental office is truly a gem, and I would refer this office to anyone in this area.

FatimaV Rude and disrespectful. Disgusting office. Dirty mop water on the floor when we got there. She was wearing pajamas. Wouldn’t answer regarding insurance questions when it’s a PPO. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Where is the manager or managing dentist.

Nick Brewer I’m usually always freaking out when I go to the dentist even just for a cleaning but south H dental has the best staff. Everyone is always nice and friendly they also thoroughly explain each thing they do and make sure I’m comfortable with each step and make sure I’m in no pain at all. There’s no other dentist I’ll go to now that I’ve experienced the hospitality South H Dental provides. If you like feeling surrounded by family who cares for you this is the dentist for you!!

The staff was amazing, the dentists walked me through the procedures that were going to be done for the appointment, and overall the environment was very calming and relaxing. Claudia B If I can give them a 0 I would definitely give them a 0 star. DO NOT waste your money at this place! I took my teenager to get her braces done here & paid $2,800, really cheap right! After the treatment finished she accidentally broke her retainer I called right away & didn’t get an appointment till 1 month later. I called 1 week & even 2 weeks later to see if I can get in sooner because we noticed her teeth were shifting but they said that’s all they had.The day of her appointment came, a month later, she went in to have her teeth resized to get a new retainer. We were told they would call us when the retainers got there. They never called! I had to call & the girl that answered said the office was going to be closed for 1 month which I was never told! So now my daughter went 2 months without her retainer which caused her teeth to shift even more. HR said the Doctor didn’t want to retreat & blamed it on my daughter needing to have a frenectomy done first. Really! If they would have told me this since the beggining before starting treatment I would have taken my daughter to get a frenectomy done first before wasting my money here! I told the girl at HR & she said “well there is different doctors in this office”. Ok, so what does that mean? They are not professional at all here! All they care about is the money and not about the patient.I DO NOT recommend this place!! DO NOT go here!! You will be wasting your money! You pay cheap you get cheap!

Rubi Lopez My retainer broke recently and I need a new one replaced quickly. My appointment is booked a month from now which it shouldnt be if I am getting a new pair of retainers. I would understand one month apart for braces but for one month for retainers? Its ridiculous and a serious problem. During the month my teeth will be shifted and there would be no point of fixing them again if my parent paid 3k to fix my teeth. I NEED a earlier appointment now.

Harman Bedi I took my brother and my brother gaged so they took his X-rays on the big machine and then I told the lady in charge that he needs simple cleaning and she said that it’ll pain him because he gags, they wanted to do deep cleaning but he just needs simple cleaning. My brother isn’t mentally well, he’s mentally disabled, he’s a toddler in the brain but in general he’s grownup man and he has seizures too. Anyway, this lady kept saying that he needs to go to UCLA because he can’t stay steady, whose going to there if there’s dentists in Bakersfield just to do check up and simple cleaning, I mean what are the dentists are for in Bakersfield. Do not go to this dentist, unless you want to waste your time at the place. The lady is the worst and so are the dentists, couple kind people but that’s all you’re going to get out of the place at best. They don’t care about mentally or physically disabled people it seems like. Do not recommend it. They ignore all of it. Highly suggest to going to the other places like Omni and first choice dentistry. Don’t waste your time with these people because they don’t care.

Channa Hear Dr. Cruz is one of the most gentlest and kindest dentist my family ever had. She helped straightened my kids teeth out and made them look beautiful. She also gave us some really good advice and tips on how to take care of their teeth. My kids really love her so much. We have been going there for eight years now. My oldest child finally gotten her teeth out six months ago and now she looks so beautiful with her teeth straight. Now were going to work on my other two sons to straighten their teeth. The price compared to other dental places is much more cheaper and is a really good deal. I would very strongly recommend for people to go here if you have a dental problem.

Eric V My wife recently had an appointment here. WOW, great service all around! Everyone was helpful and communicative, from the reception staff, to the hygienist and Dr. Huang, himself. I am not accustomed to that level of service in a dental setting. On top of that, we were not kept waiting once we arrived! We are happy we found this practice and will be happy to return in the future.
