Otherwise, a cute park with wooden play structures, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. The highlight would be a seated Zipline for the kids, but as of 11/30/24, its broken.
Beacon Park - Irvine JJ JJ: Really, really nice, clean and safe park for families, especially for kids. I dont know what one has to earn to afford living in this community but they are so lucky to be able to enjoy this park everyday. There is also a school across. Very well planned community. Although I dont have have the money to live here, it gives me a glimpse of what American Dream is like. Residents of this park are truly blessed! Two negatives: 1)Swimming pool is rather small compared to the size of the community. For that, I blame the shortsighted developer or the architecture firm who designed it. A park this size deserves at least a Junior Olympic sized pool. 2)Some dog owners are irresponsible and dont pick up their pets poops. I came across several dog poopoos on the sidewalks. Those dog owners deserve fines because its unsanitary to have dog fecal matters where so many kids run around.
Irvine Ranch Historic Park - Irvine Steve D: I found the park to be nicely restored and very welcoming. Its great to see what the Irvine home looked like many years ago and learn about the lifestyle of the farm workers. I was a lifeguard for the ranch pool 45 years ago. The pool is now filled in with concrete. See picture. Worth a visit. I think the park can be reserved for group events as there is a BBQ and picnic area.
Old Town Irvine - Jessica Regan Rosenstein: Ashley and the rest of the staff at the animal hospital were amazing. Very compassionate and caring of such a hard situation. Ashley, went above and beyond to provide comfort and accommodate us. She explained everything so there were no surprises and we even got to go outside with my girl for her final moments with us. Couldnt of found a better place for my best friends farewell.
Irvine Regional Park - Orange James Elsis: My 3 year old loves the pony rides and the train playground is great as well. Lots of great trails to walk. Awesome and affordable Zoo. Even the snack bar isnt half bad. Always fun things to do during the holidays as well. Lots of beautiful roaming peacocks. Parking is cheap. Its a good time for the whole family and fairly affordable. Lots of beautiful old trees to see as well.
Tanaka Farms - Irvine Ari: this place is great! the tour guide lady (who’s also our cashier at the produce farm) is super nice and did a great job showing us the place. the wagon tour is so fun and the strawberry picking is fun! they said the strawberries can be picked and eaten right away. i checked the strawberries and they really do look quite clean. my friends and most people were picking and eating but i was too hypochondriac to do that. i will report back if they do have diarrhea after.
the animals are very cute and the goats are so personable and would come to people to get pets!! the horse is also so chill. the cow looks a bit aloof and the turkey, as advised on one of their posters, really does bite (my friend found it out the hard way against our warnings).
the produce shop has so many great stuff to offer for really good prices too.
def book ahead of time and show up on time. for this place, those things really do matter.
Blue Gum Park - Leif Satermo: Its actually really good, big playground with a field and a volleyball court? Count me in. Like most Irvine parks, theres tons of trees and picnic tables and no public restroom.
Santa Ynez Park - Irvine Cuco Payasito (1424-339-9002): Small yet cozy little community park. Lots of sitting space but limited parking
Turtle Rock Community Park - Irvine Tony Babarino: If you’re looking for a very large park that’s relatively hidden from view unless you know exactly where it is, then this is a place for you! Big wide open space is surrounded by a lot of trees with a small river flowing through it. Plenty of options for the children to play outside on a couple of different playground sets with several swings, enjoy the cool shade in breezes even on a warm day while feeding the ducks that often populate the small river with a bridge over it. For me, there’s always been plenty of parking and there’s never a bad day when visiting this park with my kids! As a full-time real estate agent in Irvine, I’ve been in this community many, many times over the years helping sellers and buyers so I very familiar with the area and this park and location in general just never seems to get old.
Col. Bill Barber Memorial Park - Irvine Max T Tran: This park is a beautiful and spacious destination, perfect for events like proms, weddings, Quinceañeras, and graduations. With a charming fountain, vibrant flowers, and a small picturesque waterfall, it offers a stunning backdrop for photos. The large open fields provide plenty of space for soccer and baseball, while the wide, well-paved sidewalks make it ideal for walking, jogging, biking, or simply enjoying the fresh air.
