It seems like a welcoming congregation and the homily was translatable to a broad age range. Overall, it was a good experience and I wouldnt mind coming here again.

The people are a supportive group organized into homegroups that care for the people of the church. There is an emphasis on practical outreach as well as global missions. The hard issues are talked about and wrestled with both in sermons and in small groups. The sermons and structure are actively centered around scripture. The elder led, multiple teaching pastors approach brings healthy balance. I could probably say more but suffice to say, I would highly recommend checking it out.

Luke Scott: My wife and I attended Calvary this morning while in Santa Barbara on vacation. We decided to try it out because it was one of the local churches listed on the 9Marks church directory. Several church members warmly greeted us when we arrived. Music style was a mix of hymns and contemporary praise, all very singable and not showy. Pastor Michael’s expository preaching was engaging and edifying. I would highly recommend Calvary Baptist Church to anyone who is visiting the area or looking for a home church.
