J. Shaw Renner: I love history and this is part of ours in the USA. We were visiting family in Sacramento and took a stroll through Old Town. This is where the Pony Express ended and it started in St. Joseph (Joe) Missouri. It only lasted 18 months (April 3 1860-October 26 1861) due to the Trans-Atlantic Telegraph being completed. But in it’s heyday it they could travel on horseback 1800 miles in 10 days. Quite a feat in those days.
Jacqueline Gandy: My family and I had a wonderful experience here! The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful in showing our kids some things. The museum is small, but has a lot of information to read about. They plan to add more hands on experiences for kids in the near future. We had been learning about Indigenous populations prior to coming and it really helped to make some connections during our visit. I recommend PBS American Experience videos as well as Honest History journals for kids. These resources are helpful for different levels of understanding of our Native populations as well as the historical effects on their way of life.
Michael Soldate: Discovery Park in Sacramento is an incredible venue, especially for outdoor concerts. I had the time of my life at a country concert here to see Goldensky. The park’s spacious, open-air setting is perfect for live music, with plenty of room to spread out, dance, and enjoy the show. The atmosphere was electric—fans were all in, the energy was contagious, and the views of the river added an extra touch of magic to the experience.
The sound quality was great, and the location itself is easy to access, making it a perfect spot for large events. If you ever get a chance to see a show at Discovery Park, I highly recommend it—especially if it’s a concert like this one.
Kevin Taylor: Very clean and comfortable. Nice staff and the complimentary breakfast was filling. Love staying on the delta king and using their amenities.
Natasha Dee Davis: By far one of my most favorite parks ever... The playground is Amazing , the modernized "merry go round" is fun for all ages... We used to play tag at this park when we were little and go swimming in the public pools... Its nice to see the Rose Garden so beautifully maintained and all the upgrades, including the public Volley Ball nets, picnic tables and bathrooms. Great place for Tennis lovers and hanging out with the squirrels and ducks will never get old.
I highly recommend anyone with kids to visit and play together, as well as anyone who just wants to reconnect with nature in a park setting.
Truman Casady: We did go-karts and golf for 2 and it came to about 40 bucks. Golf was unlimited, meaning you could run either 18-hole course as much as youd like! Karts were quick and snappy but its only about 5 laps. All in all far better value (about $15 cheaper) than Sunsplash with these two events (Sunsplash is also not unlimited golf FYI). We appreciated the low crowds and strong value. The customer service, as well as lack of signs pointing to where things were, was lackluster but not enough to spoil the trip!
Candace Briggs: This is such a beautiful garden. I love the wide variety of plants. It is the best place to take photos. Photos of flowers but also family photos, graduation, engagement, etc.
