06-2025 about capa in Hight rate 13 location for tourist in Sacramento, CA (part 3)Discovery Park - Michael Soldate: Discovery Park in Sacramento is an incredible venue, especially for outdoor concerts. I had the time of my life at a country concert here to see Goldensky. The park’s spacious, open-air setting is perfect for live music, with plenty of room to spread out, dance, and enjoy the show. The atmosphere was electric—fans were all in, the energy was contagious, and the views of the river added an extra touch of magic to the experience.
The sound quality was great, and the location itself is easy to access, making it a perfect spot for large events. If you ever get a chance to see a show at Discovery Park, I highly recommend it—especially if it’s a concert like this one.
What Cheer House - Sacramento Kevin Taylor: Very clean and comfortable. Nice staff and the complimentary breakfast was filling. Love staying on the delta king and using their amenities.
McKinley Park - Sacramento Natasha Dee Davis: By far one of my most favorite parks ever... The playground is Amazing , the modernized "merry go round" is fun for all ages... We used to play tag at this park when we were little and go swimming in the public pools... Its nice to see the Rose Garden so beautifully maintained and all the upgrades, including the public Volley Ball nets, picnic tables and bathrooms. Great place for Tennis lovers and hanging out with the squirrels and ducks will never get old.
I highly recommend anyone with kids to visit and play together, as well as anyone who just wants to reconnect with nature in a park setting.
Scandia Fun Center - Sacramento Truman Casady: We did go-karts and golf for 2 and it came to about 40 bucks. Golf was unlimited, meaning you could run either 18-hole course as much as youd like! Karts were quick and snappy but its only about 5 laps. All in all far better value (about $15 cheaper) than Sunsplash with these two events (Sunsplash is also not unlimited golf FYI). We appreciated the low crowds and strong value. The customer service, as well as lack of signs pointing to where things were, was lackluster but not enough to spoil the trip!
WPA Rock Garden - Sacramento Candace Briggs: This is such a beautiful garden. I love the wide variety of plants. It is the best place to take photos. Photos of flowers but also family photos, graduation, engagement, etc.
McKinley Rose Garden - Sacramento Nam Nguyen: Our family has visited this lovely rose garden, nestled in the corner of Sacramentos historic McKinley Park and neighborhood, many times over the past 27 years. The best time to visit is from late spring, around Mothers Day, through mid-summer. Its a gorgeous and romantic setting, perfect for taking photos and videos. With at least 50 kinds of roses in many different color variations, its a great place to relax by walking or simply sitting on a bench and reading a book.
Theodore Judah Monument - Tim Castleman: Hidden landmark of incredible significance! Here is the text on this monument: THAT THE WEST MAY REMEMEBER. THEODORE DEHONE JUDAH. PIONEER, CIVIL ENGINEER AND TIRELESS ADVOCATE OF A GREAT TRANSCONTINENTAL RAILROAD. --AMERICAS FIRST-- THIS MONUMENT WAS ERECTED BY THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY, WHO IN 1930 WERE CARRYING ON THE WORK BEGAN IN 1860. HE CONVINCED FOUR SACRAMENTO MERCHANTS THAT HIS PLAN WAS PRACTICABLE AND ENLISTED THEIR HELP. GROUND WAS BROKEN FOR THE RAILROAD JANUARY 8, 1863 AT THE FOOT OF K STREET, NEARBY. JUDAH DIED NOVEMBER 2, 1863. THE ROAD WAS BUILT PAST THE SITE OF THIS MONUMENT, OVER THE LOFTY SIERRA - ALONG THE LINE OF JUDAHS SURVEY - TO A JUNCTION WITH THE UNION PACIFIC AT PROMONTORY, UTAH, WHERE ON MAY 10, 1869, THE "LAST SPIKE" WAS DRIVEN.
Sand Cove Park - Sacramento Liquid Skybot: Nice little hidden treasure..not too many people know about this place so it is typically uncrowded. It has a shallow area where you can let small kids play and because it is shallow the water can get a little warmer. Best part is sand everywhere. The entire beach has sand. Fisherman love this place and I have never been here and not seen someone fishing.
John Muir Childrens Park - Sacramento Regan Brunetti: Love this place and very thankful that the midtown association is doing free sound baths in the summer here. Its such a great spot for it!
