Truman Casady: We did go-karts and golf for 2 and it came to about 40 bucks. Golf was unlimited, meaning you could run either 18-hole course as much as youd like! Karts were quick and snappy but its only about 5 laps. All in all far better value (about $15 cheaper) than Sunsplash with these two events (Sunsplash is also not unlimited golf FYI). We appreciated the low crowds and strong value. The customer service, as well as lack of signs pointing to where things were, was lackluster but not enough to spoil the trip!

Candace Briggs: This is such a beautiful garden. I love the wide variety of plants. It is the best place to take photos. Photos of flowers but also family photos, graduation, engagement, etc.
    McKinley Rose Garden - Sacramento
    McKinley Rose Garden
Nam Nguyen: Our family has visited this lovely rose garden, nestled in the corner of Sacramentos historic McKinley Park and neighborhood, many times over the past 27 years. The best time to visit is from late spring, around Mothers Day, through mid-summer. Its a gorgeous and romantic setting, perfect for taking photos and videos. With at least 50 kinds of roses in many different color variations, its a great place to relax by walking or simply sitting on a bench and reading a book.

Tim Castleman: Hidden landmark of incredible significance! Here is the text on this monument: THAT THE WEST MAY REMEMEBER. THEODORE DEHONE JUDAH. PIONEER, CIVIL ENGINEER AND TIRELESS ADVOCATE OF A GREAT TRANSCONTINENTAL RAILROAD. --AMERICAS FIRST-- THIS MONUMENT WAS ERECTED BY THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY, WHO IN 1930 WERE CARRYING ON THE WORK BEGAN IN 1860. HE CONVINCED FOUR SACRAMENTO MERCHANTS THAT HIS PLAN WAS PRACTICABLE AND ENLISTED THEIR HELP. GROUND WAS BROKEN FOR THE RAILROAD JANUARY 8, 1863 AT THE FOOT OF K STREET, NEARBY. JUDAH DIED NOVEMBER 2, 1863. THE ROAD WAS BUILT PAST THE SITE OF THIS MONUMENT, OVER THE LOFTY SIERRA - ALONG THE LINE OF JUDAHS SURVEY - TO A JUNCTION WITH THE UNION PACIFIC AT PROMONTORY, UTAH, WHERE ON MAY 10, 1869, THE "LAST SPIKE" WAS DRIVEN.

    Sand Cove Park
Liquid Skybot: Nice little hidden treasure..not too many people know about this place so it is typically uncrowded. It has a shallow area where you can let small kids play and because it is shallow the water can get a little warmer. Best part is sand everywhere. The entire beach has sand. Fisherman love this place and I have never been here and not seen someone fishing.

Kariforunia Jin: 03/2025 Visited on a somewhat cloudy Saturday. ~1.5 - 2 years after the parks groundbreaking. I came to see if the Cherry blossoms have finally been able to bloom. My expectations were quite low, given reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. For the small parks size, theres a good amount of seating throughout the park. It was pretty clean, though I cant say much about the surrounding area along the adjacent bike path. It wasnt dirty, but it wasnt exactly clean either. I was able to see some trees with a few flowers blooming, which was pretty exciting, but theyre still a few years off. The trees need 5-7 years to reach a full, healthy bloom. So if youre going to visit for hanami, visit sometime in Spring 2028. Overall, the park as it stands now isnt amazing. The layout is nice for strolling through, but with the trees still in their infancy, theres not much to see. That said, I can see the potential. I hope the groundskeepers can maintain it so we can have our own Cherry Blossom viewing in Sacramento!
John C. Fremont Park - Sacramento
    John C. Fremont Park
Arnold Zirbel: Although the park was very busy in the late afternoon when I was there, I managed to locate an available bench and sat with my small dog and enjoyed some quality "people watching". It was nice to watch parents playing with their children, laughing and running around. There were also several people playing basketball and volleyball.
    Swanston Park - Sacramento
    Swanston Park
Ophelia Calvillo: They have kid friendly safe water splashing in the summer, tennis courts, barbeque areas, picnic tables, exercise areas, restrooms, and nicely updated sanded walking areas. It was well maintained during my last visit. (Prior post) I went early with my dog at 6 am to run. There was litter out of the trash and insufficient lighting to be around certain areas of the park. I like this park and wish others would clean up after themselves to make it a better and safe place for all to enjoy.
