Santa Monica State Beach - Santa Monica (CA)

4 /5 victoria: This is one of my favorite beaches, been coming here since I was a kid, so many happy memories from childhood, teenage years, etc. The beach is fairly clean, however you do have to watch out for the water report cause it can get dirty. Be sure to bring a sweater or blanket cause after 5 it does get cold. It can be hard to find parking, there is a bit of traffic, the bathrooms can get a little dirty, and it can get pretty crowded.

4 /5 Laurencio Ronquillo: Nice setting public beach and many restaurants and stores nearby. A great leisure walk. It can get very crowded on weekends.

I dont live in California, but I know a state beach when I see one, and I remain impressed by the bathrooms (many -- and clean), the walkability of the path by the beach, and the cleanliness of the beach. I couldnt find seaglass, rocks, or shells for the life of me. Ive wanted to come to Santa Monica for decades and it did not disappoint.
