As an adult, I didn’t think I’d get the chance to ride a carousel again, but during my visit to the Santa Monica Pier, I stumbled upon this lovely, historic gem and was thrilled to see that adults were welcome to ride. Tickets were just $3 USD, and the staff were kind, welcoming, and had no issue with me joining in. The building housing the carousel also featured other well-preserved historical pieces, along with informative displays that added to the charm. The experience was truly joyful and brought a wave of childhood nostalgia. I had a wonderful time and left with a big smile on my face. Highly recommend visiting if youre at the Pier! Its a special little piece of history.

4 /5 catalina c: I have been here plenty to tell you that it’s a great carousel. Never busy and it’s cheap. $3 a ticket will take you around and around. They do take credit cards so that’s great for those of us who don’t carry cash (fyi the ice cream parlor is cash only). The ride is fun and nostalgic. However, and this is why I didn’t give it five stars. Is it just me or lately does it smell like pee inside? I went to get ice cream and ride again last week but man I couldn’t stand the smell. It was pretty bad. Maybe the humidity lately has made it bad? Idk but they need to make it better. Also two weeks ago when I went again there was a person sleeping on the floor to the left when you walk in by some trashcans. Ghetto and weird. Anyways I won’t give up on the carousel but I will give it the sniff test before I buy tickets. The smell was strong and I smelled it as soon as I walked in so I left. Maybe some fans would help. Because it’s a beautiful carousel. They have the chariots for those who are scared or too heavy for the horses :). The carousels 100 year anniversary is coming up and tickets will be .25¢! Hopefully they give it a good scrub and purify the air for that event. Come here and enjoy a ride. I’ve been here many many times and have only smelled the pee once so hopefully it was an isolated incident.

Melon: It was cloudy but still with a lot of people. Small waves but fun to be in. A lot of street vendors with fruit, corn and snacks. Make sure you bring a tent or towel or unbrella because its literally just sand.

victoria: This is one of my favorite beaches, been coming here since I was a kid, so many happy memories from childhood, teenage years, etc. The beach is fairly clean, however you do have to watch out for the water report cause it can get dirty. Be sure to bring a sweater or blanket cause after 5 it does get cold. It can be hard to find parking, there is a bit of traffic, the bathrooms can get a little dirty, and it can get pretty crowded.

West Coaster - Santa Monica

Jimenez Yesica: This place is very high priced for each ride. They dont have plenty of rides for smaller children so the wrist band was not the best choice to go for. By the way price $30 for wrist band under 12 years old over 12 $50..each ride by its own is at least $8 for like a 2 minute ride. This is very high cost for me. Definitely clean thats why I gave them a 3 star.

Santa Monica History Museum - Santa Monica

Gary Standke: A really cool museum of the area. A short walk up from the 3rd st promenade. Free for residents and seniors. Lots of rooms to explore going back to the native people, through the Spanish, rancho era, to the early land speculation. Great artifacts to look at. The staff was very informative in answering questions.
