06-2025 Michillinda Park in Hight rate 19 location for tourist in Pasadena, CA, USASinger Park - Pasadena Joel Burnham: Springer Park was fantastic. We went and met friends before they left town just to say our goodbyes and for the kids to play on an amazing playground and run around the field.
Pasadena City Hall - Pasadena Anatoliy Kim: If youre reading this review, maybe youre considering Pasadena City Hall for an engagement or pre-wedding photoshoot. Well, youre looking at a great spot! Its stunning architecture provides a timeless and elegant backdrop for any shoot.
As a wedding photographer and videographer, Ive had the privilege of coming here many times to capture beautiful moments. My wife and I are a husband-and-wife team, and when we got married, we actually did our engagement shoot here, too!
One couple we worked with had their first look here in the morning on their wedding day, and there were plenty of private areas to exchange their private vows. Other times, weve come here for pre-wedding/engagement shoots, and every time, we find creative ways to utilize the variety of areas here -- there are so many options!
One thing that stands out is the garden and fountain in the center, surrounded by majestic pillars. The steps are also wide and long, which makes for some intimate yet grand drone footage (for both photo and video).
Parking is very easy to find, just outside the venue. On some days, there might be multiple shoots happening, but it hasnt been an issue for us before to avoid any groups of people.
Clearly, we love this venue, as weve gotten our own photoshoot done here for our wedding, but even from a professional photographer/videographers perspective, you cant go wrong with having your shoot here! Highly recommend.
Garfield Park - South Pasadena Jordan Patterson: Garfield Park is located in south Pasadena. Its a great park where couples and families gather to stroll beneath the shade of ancient trees. Although this isn’t a large park, it’s dog friendly and designed to be used by those in need of a place to enjoy the day.
The park features well-maintained pathways, a childrens playground, and spacious grassy areas for picnics and public events. In addition, theres a charming gazebo often used for small community activities and gatherings. I attended the free summer festival Shakespeare by the Sea at Garfield Park. This wasn’t just a wonderful way to spend my Sunday evening but a fantastic admission free theatrical event. And a great opportunity to see and experience Shakespeare.
The parks walking paths are an invitation for visitors to enjoy the surroundings in a safe and clean place. This is a nice park that’s well landscaped with a wonderful play area for young families of all ages. I like kids… so I think the sounds of children playing add to the peaceful atmosphere.
The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens - San Marino bianca diaz: This place is stunning. I will be returning in the future to have more of the experience since I did show up late and didnt have a lot of time. All the different themed gardens were beautiful. If you love nature and its beauty this place is a must. They have restaurants/cafes and a cute gift shop. Located in a really beautiful neighborhood. Lovely museum.
Eaton Canyon Nature Center - Pasadena Anna Cruz: Completed my very first full hike and can honestly say it wasn’t that bad. This trail is beautiful with a few creeks before you make it to the waterfall.
The Pirate Park - Pasadena Yulia Vashchenko: We were passing through this city and the child really wanted to play on the playground. I am very glad that we found such a cool playground with a sea pirate theme. Lots of different amenities: swings, slides, climbing frames. It is located on the territory of a large park and you can easily find a recreation area with tables and a toilet. There is also a shop-cafe in the building near the pool.
Museum of Flying - Santa Monica Aaron Stall: Wonderful museum. Not busy during the day - was basically all to myself. Really cool models and retired planes. They recommend you start off with the Wroght Brothers section. Inspirational! And make your way through to todays air and spacecraft by the end. They have a section on the second floor honoring the female heroes in aviation. Really nice to see. Many names, Id not heard of or hadnt known well.
Santa Monica Pier Carousel - Santa Monica Samansa: Very timeless and beautiful! As an adult, I didn’t think I’d get the chance to ride a carousel again, but during my visit to the Santa Monica Pier, I stumbled upon this lovely, historic gem and was thrilled to see that adults were welcome to ride.
Tickets were just $3 USD, and the staff were kind, welcoming, and had no issue with me joining in. The building housing the carousel also featured other well-preserved historical pieces, along with informative displays that added to the charm.
The experience was truly joyful and brought a wave of childhood nostalgia. I had a wonderful time and left with a big smile on my face.
Highly recommend visiting if youre at the Pier! Its a special little piece of history.
