5 /5 Jasta Dudley: Very clean park! Dog and children friendly. Every Sunday morning there is a farmers market and it’s such a perfect place to bring a blanket and people watch or relax in nature.

5 /5 Richard Cano: In-between errands always stop by to take a nice walk around or through. Restrooms were closed for longest time. Love the greens and trees. A bit confused about the leash rules. Signs say leashed but Memorial is classified as off leash dog park. Always aware! Stay safe!

5 /5 Charlotte Radlov: It’s through work that I discovered Memorial Park, which restored my faith for “little holes in the wall”, especially in less advantaged neighborhoods. It’s sinuous path through various type of trees, it’s majestic agora, it’s flamboyant green grass and all the areas offering shadows to lay under or a tiny bridge to take it all in, Memorial Park is a rare gem that offers to all a chance to be in touch with nature and enjoy a moment of peace and serenity, away from traffic, commerces and the city’s buzzing. It’s worth the drive if you live in a more agglomerated neighborhood of San Diego! Just bring a book, a towel to lay on and a snack, and the murmure of the leaves in the wind will do the rest.

5 /5 Ray G: Memorial Park on Third Avenue is hands down my favorite park in Chula Vista. It’s well-maintained and constantly cleaned, and I have to give a special shoutout to the gardeners who do a fantastic job keeping the park beautiful. One of the standout features is the open, ungated dog park. It’s bright and sunny, with lovely grassy knolls that make it perfect for laying out a blanket while your dog runs around and enjoys the open space. If your dog is on the wild side, just keep in mind that there are no fences to contain them. Fortunately, there are plenty of trash cans for easy waste disposal, which helps keep the area clean. I do wish there were more benches throughout the park to sit and take in the scenery. If you’re lucky, you might even spot wild parrots flying through the park and perching in the treetops—it’s an amazing sight (and sound) to experience! There is a public restroom, but unfortunately, it’s not the cleanest, so I’d avoid using it if possible. On the plus side, the amphitheater is a great addition to the park, and you can often catch small events there, especially on Sundays. Another highlight is the lively farmers market held on the street parallel to the park. It’s a fantastic event that draws in a great crowd and adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the area. Overall, Memorial Park is a gem in downtown Chula Vista—a great place to relax, bring your dog, and enjoy the community events. With a few small improvements, like more seating and cleaner restrooms, it could be even better!
