06-2025 Bird Sculpture in Hight rate 18 location for tourist in Chula Vista, CA, USAFriendship Park - Stephanie Gonzalez: 3. 5 Stars
So I have mixed feelings about this park. I looked up dog friendly/off leash parks on the San Diego City website (there is a downloadable map with locations all over the county). We were in the area and decided to check out the "Friendship Park" dog park. I should have paid attention to the reviews, I guess. Some people posted pictures of their dogs at the park this isnt a dog park with a fenced area or an off leash area. Its just a large area of grass with benches and a walkway.
Its a nice green space to picnic, read, etc, if you live in the area, but I wouldnt go out of my way.
Also, the water fountain was gross, and the Doggie water fountain was partially broken.
- No parking lot. Just street parking in a semi residential area and can be hard to find.
Sky Zone Trampoline Park - Chula Vista Diana Ha: I am giving this location 3 stars due to some closures, some of the trampolines were dirty with trash, there was caution tape on one the the trampolines in the trampoline area which is not functional if you think about a jumping place so you would have to skip over that rectangle that was lined with caution tape on the floor, there was 1 obstacle course blocked off as well. The staff themselves were really nice, it was just the environment at the time. Also by 12:00pm it was packed, so you could not really jump at ease without jumping into someone else. If you do decide to go here, I would say be there early and leave by 12:00pm to avoid the foot traffic, especially with younger ones under 6. There were plenty of seating and item cubbies to place your items while in the jumping zone.
Otay Lakes County Park - Chula Vista Katelyn: I love this park. Parking is $3 which gives you access to a beautiful clean park with gorgeous breathtaking lakeside views and rich wildlife. Really fun to set up a tripod with binoculars for birding. We heard and saw 3 red shouldered hawks flying together! It’s also really fun to watch and listen to the cormorants out on the water.
The bathrooms were nice and clean as well. They are single private bathrooms unlike the unclean stall-less bathrooms at any other park in Chula Vista.
Cute little playground with a gazebo that’s great for parties, families, and children as well. They also have a small walking trail.
Los Ninos Park - Chula Vista Fox Cristian: Simple nice park, it was empty on Friday. Its a great place to relax at. It has a playground and a few benches. The grassy area is big enough to have different groups of activities going on at the same time. You have to park in the street or really far away.
Chula Vista Community Park - Chula Vista BRIAN PEREYRA: Very nice and well kept park in Chula Vista next to Eastlake High School. Tall trees provide a good amount of shade. Easy to access park when coming up Eastlake Parkway headed south. Make a quick right into the driveway after the monument sign. Parking sign posting says, parking is for 2 hours only.
Heritage Park & Museum - Oceanside Johnston Elisa (Average Advocate): My kids enjoyed our field trip here! This is the second time weve gone, and they accept donations which makes this a relatively inexpensive field trip, which is nice.
The couple who runs the field trips is kind, although the woman seemed rather forgetful and would sometimes repeat stuff. Parts of it were really boring for kids, and I feel like they could give less information with more interactive games or conversations. But the time in the train area was wonderful and the kids loved being able to do the trains themselves. They were so patient to make sure each child got a turn.
They did this early into the field trip, which was good, as last time the kids didnt care by the time they got to the trains, when the order was reversed. The kids also liked playing musical chairs and loved being given ice cream! Clean, beautiful, wonderful look into history and so close to the mission, to also check out. Overall, for what we paid, it was much more than worth it. Are very thankful.
Oceanside Museum of Art - Oceanside G Barbara “Babs”: We were there for the free day/ pom pom event. It was a beautiful day which made it a great event to attend. The art was amazing I do not know how people have such patience to make such amazing prices. I was very impressed with the clothing art. Made from a verity of materials such as rice, popcorn, sea shells and so much more.
Love that they will have a free event every first of the Sunday of this month. I hope it attracts more people by doing this.
California Surf Museum - Oceanside Laurel D.: Such a cool museum! Great artifacts and cool visuals. The curators are so friendly and happy to elaborate on each piece and surfer featured. A warm and friendly environment with a dangerously cute gift shop.
Oceanside Municipal Pier - Oceanside Charwin Belisario: Great place for a walk, especially during the low tide, which allows you to go under the boardwalk! There can be a lot of people at times doing all kinds of activities. Lots of surfers, joggers, children, photographers, folks fishing, tourists. Ive also seen some homeless people. Ive seen whales, dolphins, and different kinds of birds here, too.
Theres loads of places to eat. Theres also a number of restrooms and showers people can use.
Theres a playground for kids.
Loads of parking and a number of rental properties for people on vacation.
Oside Rock Garden - Oceanside Kytka: Oceanside Rock Garden is a charming little gem, and its painted rock garden is an absolute delight! Tucked away in this cozy spot, visitors are greeted by a colorful array of hand-painted rocks, each with its own unique design, message, or bit of whimsy. It’s such a sweet and creative touch that brings a smile to your face and adds a sense of community to the area. Whether you’re leaving a rock of your own or just admiring the collection, this hidden treasure is a simple but memorable stop that’s sure to brighten your day.
