As a man with long hair, it can be tough to find a stylist who truly understands how to cut and shape it properlyâbut Tom exceeded all my expectations. He was patient, incredibly skilled, and had a deep understanding of how to work with long hair to make it look its absolute best.
From the moment I sat in his chair, I knew I was in expert hands. He took the time to listen, made thoughtful recommendations, and executed with precision and artistry. The result? A haircut that not only feels incredible but also is effortlessly natural and easy to maintain.
Beyond his technical expertise, Tom is kind, professional, and genuinely cares about making sure his clients leave feeling amazing. If you have long hair and want a stylist who knows exactly what theyâre doingâTom is the one. I couldnât be happier with my experience and will definitely be back!
Arthur Sebastian Hair Salon - San Francisco Grazyna: I could not be happier and I highly recommend Arthur at Arthur Sebastian Hair Salon. I moved to San Francisco 3 years ago and finding Arthur made my transition so much easier. I have blond hair that darkened and grayed with age and it requires great skills to make it look lighter and natural. After loosing my trusted hair dresser of many years due to the pandemic, I had several new stylists attempting to and failing to achieve this look , thus making me quite unhappy. Arthur had performed magic and brought my hair back to my youthful natural color. He used appropriate highlights with the right shade of toner and created my new personal "California Blond" look. He is a talented professional, focused on achieving clients goals and making the process look effortless. I trust Arthur with my hair and I enjoy our stimulating conversations, an added bonus to a fun experience I always look forward to. Arthur is quite busy, so plan in advance and book your appointments at his chic boutique on Union Street early!
Hair Shaper - San Francisco SO S: Pros: Seems like a lot of tech bros come here to get their haircut and they seem happy with the cut and price.
If you are a woman with a basic cut and thin hair I would come here.

My experience: I made an appointment because i was sick of overpaying for bad cuts in overpriced salons in SF. I dont need to be told Im fabulous I need a good cut.
I wondered, what kind of haircut I could get for 40 bucks?
1.Appointments seem to mean nothing you just line up.
2. IMO she was not done with my cut but had another appointment so politely out I went. For example: the woman I scheduled an appointment with took the inch off, however ran out of time to take the thickness out of my hair, and did not have time to shape it. (or she didnt know how) not sure which. So I still need another haircut.
4. On the positive I usually pay $200 for a similar incomplete cut so I was happier leaving knowing I only blew >$40 plus tip.
5. She was trying to do her best, but seems the salon is designed in a factory style.
6. The woman before me had a bob and it looked really good.
Once again if I had thin fine hair and a basic cut I would go back!!! for my thick hair Im not sure. Over all an okay experience.
salon mio mio - San Francisco Negar Shaban: I got a haircut from Gilbert and Im super satisfied with it. I have long wavy/ kinda curly-also coarse frizzy (but still beautiful ) heavy middle-eastern hair and lots of it. I got a v shape hair cut with long layers. He was so careful to not cut my hair shorter than I wanted. Also he took the weight off which feels so good and looks stylish. Hes also a good company; a good listener especially when it comes to your hair requests. I had a great evening having my hair cut at Salon Mio Mio and chatting with Gilbert. Ill go there again.
Wins Hair Design - San Francisco J S: Always a fantastic cut from Win and very affordable. I think she should charge more than she does, tip generously if youâre happy with your cut. Very personable, great sense of humor and loves to share her favorite foods and recipes. I have never been disappointed with my visit or haircut when i come to see Win. I would recommend her to anyone. She has many years of experience with hair and it shows. Very skilled with the scissors and clippers! I drive from the Outer Sunset for haircuts.
Stars Hair Salon - San Francisco Erik Cheng: Wilson did a great job with my hair (in my opinion)! I hadnt gotten a haircut in a year and also really dont take good care of it, so it was a total frizzy mess when I went in. I also didnt really know how to specify what I wanted for my haircut, since Ive never had hair this long or this curly/wavy before. He was able to take my relatively vague input on what I was looking for and did a great job producing a cut I was very pleased with. Well worth the price for his skill and also the included hair washing.
Damia Hair Salon - San Francisco Sarah-Rose Lancaster: Stacey did a fantastic job with my hair! He was very communicative, making sure I got the exact cut and style I wanted. Stacey was also a pleasure to chat with. I enjoyed the entire haircut experience with Stacey and would love to have him cut my hair again!
Hector Estrada - San Francisco Ethan Mancil: Hector did a great job helping me tame my quarantine hair lol. I was very apprehensive to cut it all off, and I know my hair is quite curly and difficult to cut. I wasnât exactly sure what I wanted either. Hector worked his magic and I was definitely not disappointed - A+
Spoke & Weal - San Francisco Maddie Eade: Ive had nothing but fabulous experiences at this salon and wanted to share the love. Front desk, stylists, everyone is the best at what they do! And the space.... the space is gorgeous.
Im a repeat client of Sheilas and she is the best! Always is able to interpret what I want, is so kind, and professional. Ive also gotten my hair colored by Zoe and Bee (who is usually based in NYC), who have made hair magic happen and have made 2+ hrs fly by with their humor.
I just really love this salon!
One Twenty for Hair - San Francisco Megumi Yuhara: Always feel like a VIP coming here! Super convenient hours and haircut is always exceptional! Highly recommend for both male and female haircuts!
