2 /5 Nico VanEeckhoutte: I came in with a chest drain from surgery that kept filling rapidly with dark blood that had to be dumped about every hour. ER was crowded. I waited for several hours outside in the cold because I didnt want to catch COVID since people inside were not masking. Then when I was finally seen, they just sent me home, saying I didnt have a hematoma. The next morning, I went back to UCSF (where the surgery had been done) and the thing the doctor at Woodland said was not a hematoma WAS a hematoma! I had another surgery to drain it at UCSF.
Going to the Woodland Memorial Hospital ER was probably one of the scariest nights of my life and they acted as if my issue was no big deal and didnt even diagnose me properly even after I waited so long to get care.
