5 /5 Susan Cheuvront: I no longer live in Monterey, or even in CA. Dr. Behnam was my doctor for quite a few years that I lived there. I was extremely overextended and stressed out much of that time, simply due to my employer at the time. I knew deep down I should leave, but it seemed insurmountable to start all over, so I lived with the stress. I remember Dr. Behnam telling me one time, “If you lose your job, you get a new one. If you lose your health, you can’t get that back.” That did register at the time, but leaving still seemed insurmountable. I did, finally, end up leaving, but with my mental health in tatters and my physical health starting to follow suit. 5 years later, I’m now a lot better, but it took a lot of work to turn things around. I’m now semi-retired, and plan work around my life, and I own my time. I’ll never forget what she said to me and how right she was. I think of her often.
