5 /5 Bon Manhkong: This place is magical... Damnation Creek Trail is spectacular spectacular! We saw only 3 people and decided to go all the way to the coast despite the warning signs. So majestic... We caught the sunset bit walked back to the car in total darkness. Totally Worth it!

5 /5 Samson Leonard: Magical. Spiritual. Whatever your creed, you will feel a swelling in your soul when you walk among these ancient, living monuments! My favorite trails and groves butted up to the Smith River, one of the clearest rivers Ive ever seen. Beautiful is an understatement. Im going out on a limb to declare Redwoods my favorite National Park. And Ive been to a lot, including: Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Tetons... All the ones typically rated highest. Its a bit difficult to plan a trip to Redwoods because there are no entrances or fees, and the national park is made up of numerous state parks. Most of the old growth groves are in state park areas and the national park encompasses surrounding areas that have mostly been logged. Dont wing it like I did. Buy yourself a book before you get there. But even winging it, we lucked out and found some amazing groves. We camped in the Mill Creek campground which is the coolest campground Ive ever been in. I kept thinking dinosaurs were going to be around every corner. Give yourself ample time because this park is huge.

4 /5 Pat Ward: Beautiful campsites amongst coastal redwood groves. Local trails are unmaintaned, so go to Jedadiah Smith State Park for superior hiking. One purchase gets you into 5 local National & State Parks.

5 /5 Anneiv Esqui: Stunning and breathtaking views! This is really worth the travel. A lot of beautiful sceneries and lot of places to check out. We camped for 2 nights and it was serene, peaceful and well maintained. We enjoyed the beautiful and challenging hike around the redwoods took a quick dip in chilly pacific waters, waited for a spectacular sunset which had a romantic feeling and a sense of accomplishment of just being there. Memorable experience but be extra careful with wild life as that’s their territory.

5 /5 Dave & Robin Michael: Hidden, rustic, tranquil, spectacular. Open May through September. Reservations strongly recommended. Your smartphone will only function for photos. Come prepared as there are no hookups. Water stations are spaced between campsites. Only overnight campers are allowed in, no day use visitors. Trailers are limited to 24 feet, and motorhomes to 28 feet. An ocean beach and full service town are just 6 miles away. Shangri-la awaits you.
